Is game is as predicted by true Devil May Cry fans. It's slow combat, and no skill required gameplay make this a terrible addition to the Devil May Cry series. It is slow and suffers from unresponsive controls. There is also a game breaking glitch that will not let me finish the boss no matter how many times I quit the demo or redownload it, this was on both systems. This demo only goes to prove Ninja Theory dose not care about anyone or anything besides their over inflated ego. They have no idea how Devil May Cry is suppose to play, act, and feel. Fans all stood up to let them know they were doing it wrong and all NT could do was insult fans and the creator of Devil May Cry.

You didn't play the demo, did you?

It sounds like you didn't play it. The controls are tight, the combos are intricate, and it FEELS like Devil May Cry.

InTheLab4165d ago

You must have skipped the boss fight?? I always thought that gif of Dante mashing the same heavy attack over and over again and getting an SS was a gag, but you can in fact mash the same two buttons repeatedly to achieve an SS on that boss and the rest of the enemies. The combat feels nothing like Devil May Cry.

I do, however, agree that the controls are outstanding. Especially the platforming which NT has never done well.

WeAreLegion4165d ago

I played both levels multiple times. You can't get SS by mashing. You have to change it up... Which version were you playing? Perhaps there is a bug. I was on the PS3 version.

Gohadouken4165d ago (Edited 4165d ago )

we must not have the same definition of intricate . It was an easy spam fest . And harder difficulties will be the same , only obviously harder but still broken , not stylish and easy .

It was called eons ago , but why did they even bother including platforming ? It's yet another iteration of quasi-auto platforming , that serves no purpose in the game

Summons754165d ago

Did you because the demo was anything but tight and intricate. That or you have never played Devil May Cry in your life and you think your some sort of hero defending this POS game.

ThanatosDMC4165d ago (Edited 4165d ago )

Wow, really? You couldnt get an SS ranking on the boss fight?

They must need to dumb down the game some more. 1st hit should start at S.

Edit: I had SSS rank the whole time without getting hit. I bet some people here on N4G has done the same on they first time. Bet they all ready have a gameplay vid of it on youtube too.

When I was making this preview I played through the demo multiple times. The only thing that felt a little stiff was the jumping controls

I personally thought the demo was fantastic, it felt great, and was very fun. If this demo is any indication as to how the final product will turn out, they at least have one guaranteed sale.

Played the demo and this game lacks creativity compared old Devil May Cry games.. u_u'

kanetheking4165d ago

not as Japanese is that why there is a lack of creativity?

Kenshin_BATT0USAI4165d ago

Nah I think it just has something to do with NT being extremely bland and boring devs.

kanetheking4164d ago

Vashlion you can call nt bland but your can't really call the game bland, since the levels look pretty different from other hack n slashs, or is there something else what is bland?

Neko_Mega4165d ago

It was ok, but alot of buttons felt they were wasted on doing the same thing with another weapon.

Why do we need a angel weapon to swing/hook to things? As well as a demon one? I think they had no idea what they should do with this game or the weapons.

The game isn't fully bad, but it feels like they could have done alot more with it. Seeing how alot of the DMC games have in the past.

It is a good studio.. i really enjoyed their dmc game that i platinumed it.
I did not try hellblade, because it doesnt tell me much.. Enslaved was very mehhh
Heavenly Sword was good not great. Amazing graphics back in the day but so repetitive and not so engaging in the long run.

stoney10110d ago

I really enjoyed Enslaved and Heavenly Sword back in the day. Wish they'd return to that sort of game. Hellblade isn't really for me to be honest. Not saying it's not a good game, I just couldn't get into it.

Popsicle9d ago (Edited 9d ago )

That is fair. I enjoyed Hellblade but can definitely see how it isn’t for everyone.

Would like to see how Heavenly Sword would have turned out if developed today. It’s easy to forget that games like Heavenly Sword were unprecedented and in their infancy.

shinoff21839d ago (Edited 9d ago )

Enslaved has been their favorite game for me. Loved the atmosphere.

1nsomniac9d ago

Heavenly sword was a staggeringly good game!! One of the most memorable of the PS3 generation in my opinion.

Babadook79d ago (Edited 9d ago )

Heavenly sword was good. It had ambitious graphics and as a result the frame rate suffered and as a result the gameplay suffered. But the story was phenomenal. Great acting, especially Andy Serkis as the king.

"Microsoft" we all read between the lines. We have seen the exact same thing happen with many of their other acquisitions

Jesus man! Try reading the article at least.

One thing that pleasantly surprised me, was the Switch port, as back then it was my only console. The graphics were amazing and the artistic design helped a lot to enhance the visuals.I took some really impressive screen shots while playing which I still revisit them from time to time to remind me what a capable developer (QLOC) can achieve with weaker hardware.
