1UP-Persona 4 Golden Review

1UP:Back in 2008, when Atlus released Persona 4, it was just a great game. Soon, though, it became a cult phenomenon. Hundreds of thousands of fans celebrated the game in dozens of ways and Atlus basically turned P4 into its own franchise as they launched a TV anime adaptation and an honest-to-god fighting game. And yet after all of that, we come back to the starting point. Persona 4 Golden is as much a port as it is the equivalent of looking back at one's high school yearbook after spending a year or two in college -- for the most part, it was good times. If nothing else, it holds up better than some of our real memories.

Yet another amazing review for P4G. I don't believe anyone has rated it below the equivalent of a 9/10. Truly a masterpiece, Sony is lucky to have Atlus' Persona series always releasing on their consoles.

Indeed so! Along with the Disgaea series, it would be great to see Persona get a rep in the PSBR fighter.

Never played Persona before but after being disappointed with later FF entries, I am thinking of starting a new JRPG series.

P4 seems like the place to start.

P3P is the place to start and then proceed to P4: The Golden ;o)...

Black Frost, people. Black Frost. lack Frost= don't even have to look at the screen to beat the game, lol.

Oh, and get understanding to lvl 5 for tower arcana.

You caqn date as many girls as you want, but if you don't do events with all of them, then you run the risk of having your social link reversed and your screwed.

You want Yukiko in you party!! Won't even have to worry about dying or your health with her.

Persona 4 Golden by the looks of it will probably be the highest rated game on the Vita for a LONG time judging by the scores it is getting.

@ Sinncross

The cool thing about the Persona games is the social aspect that the game has. You can go on dates to improve relationships that can help in battles. The story is very deep, dark, & quite twisted. The battle system for P4 is easier to grasp than P3. It is a great game that will guarantee you 60+ hrs of gameplay. There is a lot to do in the game.

Good to see it!. I really need a vita. I might just buy the game anyway.

yea... I need to get this now.. I mean I have to admit, Im not a fan of the graphics much but graphics isnt everything right? Seems like the story, gameplay and pretty much everything else is spot on. plus this is a ps2 remake so I understand the graphics being a bit off. Im def. getting this in the near future.

I'll have to make this a mission the next time I blow through Tokyo.

Hopefully soon, given the limited availability.

Seraphim280d ago

send me one while you're at it. I mean what's better than Whiskey and Persona? A cigar with the two, and that would be perfection personified.

Remasters And Remakes Make Up 90 Percent Of 2023's Highest-Rated Games

Only one of the games on the top ten is completely original.

90 percent of Metacrtitic's top ten highest-rated games of 2023 so far are remasters and remakes, with Hi-Fi Rush acting as the only wholly original game to make the list so far.

We might only be in March, but it seems like we've already got tons of great games to be talking about, including Dead Space, Resident Evil 4, Hi-Fi Rush, Persona 4 Golden, and Metroid Prime Remastered. There is one commonality between those games, however - most of them are remakes and remasters.

I don't usually buy Switch games until the holidays when they have the elusive sale.

dead_pixels399d ago

Can't blame you there. The bargains don't come too often on the eShop, that's for sure.

FinalFantasyFanatic398d ago

I feel like they're getting stingier and stingier, at this point, if the game is on something else, I'd rather buy it there where it's cheaper.

Already own physical versions of Persona 5 Royal and Persona 5 Strikers along with digital versions of Persona 3 Portable and Persona 4 Golden on Switch. Will definitely double dip if physical versions of Persona 3 Portable and Persona 4 Golden.
