Accidental Wii U hacker unveils upcoming Wii U games

The Wii U has only been out for a short time, but holes in the system have already been discovered. A gamer by the name of “Trike” was able to hack into the Wii U miiverse. Once there he found all sort of information.

Nintendo has commented on this. He accessed Nintendo's "mock up" menu for the Miiverse. If you recall from before there was a Yoshi symbol on the main Miiverse hub when Nintendo originally showed it off. According to Nintendo it was only there for mock up purposes.

“It has come to our attention that some people were able to access a mock up menu on Miiverse following the launch of Wii U in the US. Please note that this was only a mock up menu and has now been removed and is not accessible.”

What makes me mad as a PS fan that Capcom Always throwing the bad RE games on us recently and make the truly good survival horror Resident evil games only on Nintendo Consoles ... If this was the remake of RE2 "exclusively" on the Wii U i will be truly mad not because i'm going to have a Wii U .. Just Because Capcom always used to betray their PS fans so many times and nobody knows why .. I don't know Did Nintendo always trying silently to suck all the good games from sony or what , still nobody knows ... respect to Nintendo :\ .

sure, seems relatively harmless now, but we all know that something as simple as accessing a "mock up" menu will invariably lead to other things that will result in loss of features/functionality/etc... because they're going to close it off even more than it already is.

They didn't hack it. Somebody accidently pressed X while close was highlighted and this all appeared.

you need to hit the dictionary and look up the defintion of a hack. He said himself he was hovering over the exit button and pressed x.....thats no hack, its a grave fault from Ninty's part. Its like you pull up the start menu on any windows and while your mouse is hovering it, you press Escape and all of sudden you can see the repositories for the source code....

Problem with people like you is that you dont bother reading and understanding what the issue is; if it has the work hack then their are at fault for the entirety of our world's problems.

Like I said in another thread, Nintendo has mentioned bringing Miiverse to 3ds in some capacity. Many of those games listed are ds/3ds games.

this is exactly why i never get a console on day 1, i always wait about 6 months and hopefully they weed on the bugs and issues out.

Nintendo said it was a mock up, but if you look at the old Miiverse screenshots from the original videos you can see Yoshi and Metroid on the screen. At the time, Nintendo said they were just placeholders.

can't believe why the so-called "hacking incident" is suddenly a sign of Wii U's weakness? fact is, security is more serious than anyone thinks. even large corporations get hacked, yes those larger than Nintendo. heck, even Sony's PSN was hacked, oh, several times? obviously they learned from it, and made more countermeasures.

so really, hackers will and will always find ways to expose the weaknesses of systems; and this for me is good for nintendo, because now they know that need to make sure they are more secure, and will only work to improve their countermeasures early on.

anyway, as they said it wasn't really a hack, only someone from nintendo forgetting to set to configuration parameters to hide stuff from curious users; so not really a weakness.
