Wonderbook: Book of Spells Review - TGH

"Before there were video games, TV, film and even radio, there were books. You know what a book is right? I’m not talking about the words found inside your Kindle. I’m talking about a good ol’ fashioned book. Hardback, or paperback, a sturdy spine, and pages of wonderful words for you to read and enjoy. The book has been around for an incredible amount of time. Whether you’re old or young, everyone knows how to use a book; and in all this time, the book really hasn’t changed. We’ve had TV and film innovate with the times, and the same has happened to music and even video games. The biggest change to the book is with the arrival of the e-reader, but it does nothing to improve upon the books function. However, thanks to Sony it seems that that age old paper filled creation could finally be getting the reinvention it deserves. Wonderbook makes pop-up books look like child’s play."

Looks pretty decent but a lot of mixed reviews about it. Might wait and see what other 'books' come out for it.

Not really "a lot." A few reviews that give it mediocre scores, but an overall positive reception.

It's for families and more directed towards kids, so reviewers are going to harp on it not being hardcore, but I think it looks really fun. Digg Nightcrawler looks cool and they have a Walking with Dinosaurs book my daughter really wants. I can have fun with my kids and she can enjoy it, while I reap the trophies. Looking forward to this.

I really enjoyed it - as the review says - and I agree, I'm looking forward to Diggs Nightcrawler and Walking With Dinosaurs. Hopefully the Disney books do well too. Disney potentially means Marvel and Star Wars stuff too. Can't wait.

It'll be $20 at Walmart on Black Friday, so I'm definitely picking it up! Diggs Nightcrawler looks pretty awesome, too. That's why I want this. :)

Walking With Dinosaurs!
Finally!

ruefrak3849d ago

Wasn't there supposed to also be a Muppets one as well as some other Disney stuff?

When I contacted PR, they could only say "We haven’t announced any additional Wonderbook products at this time." Which isn't saying there aren't any more, they just haven't announced any! We can only hope.

PSLS’ Morning Wood Episode 005: Wood in 3D (Glasses)

Welcome to episode five of Morning Wood. This week Chandler talks about pitching tents to have a symbiotic relationship with his fellow writers, throwing down the beat and making it rain, and his own controversial opinion on Disney’s shuttering of LucasArts. The background is also royal purple in honor of a game that I recently picked up from another shuttered publisher. Watch the video below.

Sony’s Unsung Hero: The PS Move

The PS Move is one of those accessories that didn’t really cause ripples this generation. The Move just didn't have the attach rate or the support from Sony that the Kinect has from Microsoft. The PS Move is still a great accessory to own and can be loads of fun with the right games. Right now is the perfect time to purchase one as the price is continuing to drop and GoozerNation has several suggestions for must have Move Bundles and games.

Eh..I wouldn't recommend Move to anyone unless they found a REALLY good deal on it. Haven't used mine since last summer. The potential is there, but its not being taken advantage of.

I can recommend the move to anyone who likes dancing, has a girlfriend or a social life. Dance star party is great and actualy taught me to dance and made me very fit. Be prepared to sweat buckets though.
