Hitman: Absolution Review | VideoGamer

VideoGamer: "Occasionally you'll witness flashes of brilliance, glimpses that suggest Io could yet salvage something from this wreckage for its next Hitman game. And then you finish a stage with a tedious quick-time event, snapping the neck of a morbidly obese Danny Trejo-alike in a wrestling match watched by hundreds - astonishingly earning yourself a Silent Assassin rating in the process - and you shake your head sadly and wonder how it all went so badly wrong."

Im glad i cancelled my pre-order, ages ago, added it to myt rental list, i kinda figured that it wasnt going to be the Hitman game id hoped for

The original games are getting the HD treatment so ill pick the Collection up when its out on the PS3

Not sure how that would help. Most of the criticism leveled so far against Absolution are things which were actually worse in the previous games. (Questionable AI, seemingly linear routes, etc)
Well, except for maybe the point-shooting.

Almost all of the other reviews say it is amazing and one of the best hitman games so sucks for you. And the hitman collection from all I can find on the Internet is not even officially been announced.

Alos884166d ago

Well the trophy lists for it have been outed, so if it isn't a sure thing it would be bizarre.

watch walkthroughs on youtube of the game and try saying that again. ALSO please Tell me one reason why 1 you cancelled your review and 2 what this lacks that bloodmoney has?

GraySnake4166d ago

to sum up most of this review. The game is too hard and unfair so 5/10

I don't think it's that bad I've seen the first level and it is nice .
can't wait for the release date .

One review giving it a 5/10 amongst a dozen others giving it an 8/10 or higher is hardly reputable.

Looks like the guy had unrealistic expectations going in and wanted to put the game down just for the sake of a review. Sounds like he just wanted blood money with ps3 graphics and he comes off as a whiny PC person that doesnt like adult themes in games. Anyone whining about women being the victims in games or how there is sexual themes just comes off as nitpicking in my book. Go play Ratchet and clank or Mario if you dont like darker themes. 47 is a hired killer. Who do you expect the marks to be? Look at previous games. There are deviant themes with the marks also, they werent explored though.

I am sure he would have complained about how nothing has changed if they did a game just like BM. I can just imagine it now " Instead of playing it safe and sticking to the formula of last gen the developers really should have experimented and changed things more. 5/10."

maximus19854166d ago

well said. reviewers like this are looking for negatives to get hits. damn if you do or dont kinda person. just from watching gameplay on youtube i can already see its no 5/10 its got all the elements of blood money with better shooting mechanics. This reminds me of the halo 4 review that got 5/10 yet im still playing the hellout of it.

How IO turned Hitman around, from Absolution to World of Assassination

When Hitman 3 recently changed its name to Hitman World of Assassination, fans had no idea how meaningful the moment was. On the outside it looked like a simple thing: Hitman 3 would now be known by this name and include levels from Hitman 2 and 3 - the trilogy would all be in one place. But on the inside, at IO Interactive, much more was going on.

You mean destroyed it with this tethered single-player campaign BS... And only the first few levels of the third modern game were on the disc! I'll never support this crap at any price-point! They've lost me as a customer.

Hitman is, and has been, a remarkable series developed by some of the best. Some are better than others, but every Hitman is challenging and fun.

Sure, there have been some stumbles and fumbles, but always in pursuit of the perfect Hitman game. The most recent trilogy is a masterclass in level design.
