Amazon’s Best Game of 2012 is Journey

Amazon has now rated their top 20 games of 2012, with the Journey Collector’s Edition finishing on top.

It's also nice to see three Vita titles up there, with two being exclusive to the system. Journey is a beautiful title and deserves to be up there with the reviews and reception the title has received since launch.

I think I'd put It at the top of my list this year. This year has been a bit hit and miss for gaming, especially for the big hitters like Max Payne, Mass Effect 3 and RE6 falling short of people's expectations.

Next year looks a hell of a lot better though.

Journey was such a fantastic game. It is my personal Game of the Year. I enjoyed playing it. I've played it about five times now.

Journey was fantastic. I'll never forget my first playthrough. Made it through the entire thing with one person, we never lost each other, it was such an amazing experience.

Definitely in my top five of the year. Gravity Rush was my game of the year, however. Followed by LittleBigPlanet Vita and Borderlands 2.

beside the breathtaking art style, the game is amazing due to its underline philosophy aspect (scarf knitting/strange companion). Well deserve indeed.

Pretty insulting choice when you consider masterpieces like Halo 4, Dishonoured, Mass Effect 3, Binary Domain and New Super Mario Bros U came out over the past year, but then Amazon is hardly a bastion of credible gaming opinion.

Insulting because it clearly has nothing of the scope, depth and quality of those games, and I'm sure the teams that made them are left scratching their heads as to why their mammoth efforts are being overlooked in favour of this no-action snooze fest.
