The reason the PS3 is lead platform for GTA V is to ensure that it equals the 360 version. Not because the PS3 is more capable for multiplats. Especially when it comes to open world games (ram limitations)

If I'm not mistaken EA leads all multiplats on PS3 to ensure both versions are the same quality. The other way around and theirs a chance the PS3 gets an inferior version.

I guess devs mindset is if we can do it on the PS3 it will be a piece of cake on the 360. The opposite isnt true of course and we've seen it all along the gen.

Not true. I've had minimal errors with Black Ops 2 on PS3 although it's not acceptable until fixed. Also they have made a statement about this in game that they are working on it. These sort of things happens all the time with big games especially on PC.

I can't read half of these comments because they're so biased and negative. It IS harder to develop for Ps3, therefore the chance that there will be bugs upon launch is more likely than 360. 1. a few stages on Lair are 32 by 32 relative miles and each level loads in less than six seconds with no loading in between. The only downside to it graphically that it could not always keep 60fps on the older chipsets (60Gb, etc.) when the action got really intense, but most of the time it did to the point that the times that could not did not matter. I honestly don't know if the issues are still there on the newer PS3 chipsets, but I have to say It probably is until I can confirm that it is not; this isn't "innocent until proven guilty" because it's already been proven that it could not always hold 60fps; so the burden of proof is on the slim.

At any rate, there's not a game that's out yet on consoles that has both the size and the technical prowess Lair had, and I'm talking on both console, not just the 360. The only non-PS3 game that I know that had over 32 miles was Superman Returns (80 square miles), but the graphics were not the best and it still had a lot of issues with a joke of a frame rate. I don't count Test Drive and Fuel and GT5, motorstorm and other racing games because car games push the boundaries in a different way; else I would wonder why God of war's backgrounds did not look as realistic as GT5, for example.

I'm not absolving Lair because Lair had a few things that popped-in, but the upside is that the whole game used a progressive mesh to where no matter how close you got to something, the graphics looked better, not worse.

So I don't think open world is the issue; it's

1. Sony not providing enough Technical assistance. (If people are complaining about it being tough, it's Sony's job to fix that or else take the punches when someone complains and writes an article about it... which is probably why the stock is getting lower in it's appearance of value.

2. People not knowing how to program. (honestly, How can I let people off of the hook when a game like Heavenly Sword comes out so early in the console's life cycle and games that come out later not only runs worse, but looks worse, too?)

They only care to get the game fully working on the 360, it has direct competition in Halo 4. People wouldn't hesitate to take a faulty game back when other options are present. It's is a piece of shit on PS3 tbh. I'm closer to 10 matches though and had 3 freezes. The second night TDM wasn't working at all, server continuously researched for better matches till i just tried a different game mode that Would connect.

It's annoying but until it starts killing PS3s (which it actually might) I wouldn't say to not buy the PS3 version.

Another trippy thing it does is sound really bad when it's loading the disc. It spins and stops really hard and it's really noticeable. Both me an my brother were online (he's in another state) talking about it earlier. Like it's putting the PS3 through a lot more stress than other games. Physical stress, like it could kill my disc drive or shorten it's lifespan.

Point being it freaks me out and I wouldn't be surprised to read a Black ops 2 killed my PS3 article some time soon.

Wow.. i can't lie it seems like this guy is angry.

I've been playing Blops 2 since 3 days before the launch(got it early). I have had two full console frezes, once in the MP menu and second switching to the zombies.

Other than that, i've actually found this to be the most stable COD so far, a lot less server issues(it had a game disconnect issue that lasted a few hours before treyarch dealt with it swiftly).

The only other thing i've had which was udring nuketown 2025 last night and since the player count online has doubled, is stuttering in game but only on that map.

So it's a couple of issues but nowhere near what black ops launched like on PS3. So there is plenty reason to buy it on PS3, if you're a fan go for it.

Guys black ops 2 I am an avid COD criticiser and have been playing since launch. I have only had 1 freeze and only lagging in match issues that are standard COD fare. I can confidently say thatis one of the best looking COD games, maybe even one of the echelon of console graphics. The campaign is the best since CODMW and MP is in between MW & MW2. I am on PS3 and don't have many of these issues so that sucks for these ppl but maybe they have bad connection speeds or their ps3 is on its way out but i think black ops 2 is one of the best COD games and you have to be patient w/ the MP. Fallout 3 was nowhere near as bad as people made it out to be, i put over 100 hours into the PS3 version and it only ever froze on me once, there were a few glitches and bugs but i experienced more of them on my xbox playthrough.

The Orange Box is another game that got completely overblown, i thought it would be damn well near unplayable, but it worked fine again 60 hours put into that game more if i count team fortress and it only froze on me like twice, if you look past the frequent loading screens that were like 5-8 seconds, it really wasn't that bad.

I think it's N4G tradition to have at least one article that blows the so called "inferior port" way out of proportion

When I see comments like yours to me it screams xbox fanatic, I've been playing many multiplatform games on my PlayStation 3 with no problems. To notice anything people have to see it side-by-side and zoomed in, that in itself should show you something. Game Trailers even screwed up their comparison once using the PlayStation 3's version to boost the XBOX 360's version.

In the end, no matter what platform you buy the game on, people will enjoy it, otherwise it would not sell on that specific platform. I go by what I know, and not what I see in video comparison is stating. Hell Gears of War 2 had major bugs in it, but was never mentioned in reviews.

Saying that PlayStation 3 owners are retards for buying Black Ops 2 is absurd and stating that they should know it's going to be bugged before it's release is called a hindsight bias. In reality no one knows until its release, and not any time sooner. The comment also states all XBOX 360 games are never bugged, hence the bias. Bugs in a game allow certain parts of the game unplayable depending on where the bug is, the whole game unplayable, there are no bugs as far as I know. Is there a missing pixel that I can't see with a naked eye, who cares.

Lastly if there are differences it's like I said, to only know it would have to be side-by-side with zoom-ins. So a naked eye would not pick up even half of the stuff mentioned, virtually making no difference to the player.

I never had any trouble with Skyrim, and I put over 130 hours into it and got me the platinum.

Black Ops 2 on the other had, has some minor issues. Lag here and there (usually only minor and for a few seconds, then it picks back up), and the occasional system freeze (which is only online btw), which sucks ass. All in all it works fine. However a patch would be greatly appreciated.

The problem is different for people. I'm ranked 44 and my console has frozen once. Some people suffer more than others. There may be factors the devs new nothing about. Console model, internet speed etc.
For me it's been the most stable COD release to date. I can join a party, play in a party, leave with a party. All this has never been possible in week one before.

I'm no COD fanatic, I gave MW3 a complete miss, so it can't be all bad. I think the complaints are over exaggerated mainly because there are so many people with copies, which means the small percentage effected is a lot higher number and as with most gamers these days, straight to the web to write an article..

I have it for ps3 and it runs just fine. It runs much better than black ops 1 did. I've prob played between 5 and 10 hours. No freezing no disconnects no probs except your lag here and there that u get with all platforms. Even the lag seems less than previous CODs. This is either a scare article, or there ps3 is going out. Also in the options u can install the texture pack to your ps3 I feel like it ran even better after I installed, might of just been in my head tho.

Froze a few times for me. I think it's less of a problem for newer PS3 SKUs. I'm pretty impressed with how well it runs online in terms of frame rate. I think this is Treyarch's very first PS3 COD game that has such a solid frame rate even for online multiplayer. The image quality however bugs the hell out of me. Patch 1.02 introduced a HORRIBLE implementation of AA that blurs the entire image. Deleting the patch makes the game look so much sharper and vibrant at the cost of a jaggier looking image. Can't play online without the patch but I can just replay the single player and maybe get some practice with the bots in local multiplayer and wait and see if Treyarch addresses that horrible blurring problem.

In the 50+ online matches I have played on PS3, 1 has frozen so I would be more worried about what is happening to my PS3 than the game. I have a 160 gig and a 320 gig PS3 and it has only frozen once between the 2 of them and I have played at least 50 matches of multi-player.

While I do agree the ammount of hate it attracts is annoying, I could put my bottom dollar down that 95% of them HAVE in fact played CoD. Everyone has.

I got bored of it after I tried WaW and MW2, so I'm not really a fan, but I appreciate what it has done. Some people just want it to be like the 'glory days', which isn't going to happen. So they think by bagging it they have some mind control over other peoples tastes.....which is retarded.

MW3 sucked, Black Ops 2 was a repeat and rather boring, and MW2 was fun as heck. Black Ops 2 went back to that and is rather fun. Sure same old graphics, and engine, but its still a rather good game. Not terrible by any means.

I can understand getting tired of the franchise, I even got tired of FPS titles for a while, but that doesn't warrant bashing a game and then flaming anyone that says anything remotely positive about it. It also doesn't warrant articles like this which are entirely misleading. The game isn't a disaster, it had freezing issues and server issues, both have been addressed.....I remember some Bethseda games that had WAY worse issues, and yet people were pretending god just gave them a gift....

Seriously the people crying about others actually enjoying COD are more annoying than the fanboys of any particular console praising everything....

A lot of my friends who love Cod hated Black Ops 1, but then my friends who didn't like it said it was the best they have played.

I heard the story in Black Ops is actually quite good, and I'm hearing similar things with Black Ops 2. I am going to borrow Black Ops 1, and if the story is good, count me in for BLops2.

I suffered from Lag compensation out the ASS in MW3, yet in Black Ops 2, everything works fine! and I am on PS3.

All my friends have the Xbox 360 and they are all bitching up a storm about the compensation, while I sit back and laugh.

The only problems im having is the "Looking for more players" issue everybody has, other then that BO2 is running great on PS3.

For once I don't have to be envious of the xbox, I feel I got the superior product this time. We even got the install option.

but whatever, thats my experience, Just know that Lag compensation posts on the official COD forums are 5 to 1 for XBOX. The PS3 might have the superior online if they don't fix that.

It seems like most big launches are like this. Week 1 sucks with bugs and crashes. Then the patch comes out and everything is back to normal.

I waited three weeks to buy Modern Warfare 3 and didn't run into any hiccups. Lesson learned.

Am I on some different planet, had the games for a week now, had the sound glitch on zombies till i restarted game from xmb twice, and it froze once- otherwise it's running fine and those^ are minor glitches that even games that are ps3 exclusive like uncharted fall victim to on release sometimes so I don't see the fuss it's not like the games unplayable like Skyrim was... Treyarch willpatch it and it will all be fine.

Fifa has this same freezing problem but they fixed it. Ea and Activusion games are known to freeze on ps3 because they pump out games every year so there is less time for devs to properly code it for ps3.

This is so weird. I have the fat ps3. I got the game on Thursday. When I botted it up and jumped into mp the first 3 games I tried to play ps3 froze but after that I have sincerely had no problem except one time when the connection got interrupted. Matchmaking does has some problems where it says it needs to balance team even though the lobby is full. Except that and of course lag and latency issues game is pretty fun.

Exactly what I was thinking. How are we at this stage where the games perform worse the the 5 year old ones?
I've had to just turn the game off, the lag is horrendous. That is with everyone on four green bars, it's like playing the first MW with two yellow bars.

i'm a Playstation guy & i can honestly say that multiplatform games are much better on the xbox360,for example i was in a game shop few months ago & they had fifa street on display both ps3 & xbox 360 but there was major difference i actually found the xbox360 version to be really fun to play while the ps3 version was just plain no fun no joy to play game. i'm been very honest here & no i would not buy xbox360 even at half the current price because i always enjoy sony's unique offering of 1st party games without sony i would quit console gaming PERIOD.
