WC writes: With Black Ops 2 finally hitting our shelves yesterday, we’re all working our way through what it has to offer and giving our opinions; critical consensus is, as can be expected, mostly positive, even if Activison will no doubt be mincing over how its Metacritic score is a whole 3 points below Modern Warfare 3′s. Someone’s going to lose their bonus over that one…

And while the game is a lot of fun, and arguably the best, most innovative game of the lot, it’s time to see what can be improved for the inevitable Modern Warfare 4, which one can assume Infinity Ward are already hard at work on. Here’s 10 things we demand for the next game.

My top 10 things i want from COD:MW4 that gamers with brains want and will never happen...

1) For it not to exist
2) For, at the very least, a new engine.
3) New era story arc
4) Completely new gameplay
5) recoil in guns
6) a functional spawn system
7) for it to work as advertised OUT OF THE BOX
8) dedicated servers
9) Work equally on all systems
10) Or, again, none of the above just not exist.

Interesting list but completely new gameplay.. What do you mean by that? Im sure Call of Duty isnt the best seeling series of all time simply because of its story. The gameplay is the reason so many people buy the series year after year.

It has to evolve at some point, if all you change is the skin, alter a few guns and slap a 5 hour story to it, isn't it essentially the same game?

MGS1 on PS1 had fun gameplay, but is it fun now? I loved old FIFA, but when they upped their game and overhauled it for this gen it was miles better and i couldn't look back despite it being fun at the time.

I guess my point is, sure it's "fun" and has been for the past 5 years now, but it won't be fun forever, so it needs radical change at some point to remain relevant.

"You can't fool all of the people all of the time" applies to COD kinda. Sooner or later it's going to have to adapt or die.

I couldnt care if they make another COD, I wont play nor buy it.

It does not affect anyone and this is to the people saying they dont want another one.

There are plenty of games out there today especially indie titles that are better than COD. There is no excuse to bash COD and not look into these titles. You dont have to play it.

Last time I played was the MW3 free weekend on steam and it confirmed it was terrible.

Whao, whao! After the abomination called "MW3," I don't think that I even want to see a MW4. MW3 has set the world record for worst online multiplayer maps of the history of FPS gaming.

The maps were ridiculously unplayable. I stopped playing it months ago, but I was really good at the game. So no one can tell me "oh you just hate the game because you suck at it."

The campaign was decent. The co-op was fun. The online was just made me frustrated. Bad maps combined with a terrible spawn system. Great formula to ruin a game IW! Woot! Thanks for making me feel like I wasted 60 bucks

You do know what an IP is don't you? Even if they added real life grade recoil, 1000 years in the future and a 3rd person action game, if it has "Call of Duty" on the box, that is a reboot/revamp.

Not a new IP. Can't we all just agree that COD should just be phased out now and move onto something new? It's been milked enough and robbed enough uninformed consumers of hard earned cash this gen.

Bring the realism back like CoD4 aimed for and put recoil on the guns for god sake Call of Duty feels more like Halo at this point.

Treyarch is better in the fiction department (like zombies and sci-fi stuff) but i want that traditional call of duty experience with realistic scenarios.

How about maps that don't look like an explosion of color? I loved the way COD4 maps were dark, desolate and grim. How about shotguns that don't shoot yellow rods out of them or can be silenced, like in COD4. No silenced snipers. How about when people turn around, they don't rotate without moving their feet like they're on a turntable? How about prone position that doesn't turn on a central axis when you aim left or right? How about movements like there's actually some body weight to a person?
