Vergil's Downfall DLC Yamato be praised

Ninja Theory is really pulling out all the stops with the newest installment to the Devil May Cry series DMC, granted looks have changed and people were upset about it but my own experience with the game and hands on time with it the gameplay has not changed and it’s still Devil May Cry just re-imagined into someone else’s perspective. Now i give you the best news i can give you all and one of the things that i was personally the most excited and hyped up for, VERGIL that’s right Dante’s twin brother is going to be playable! Vergil’s Downfall DLC gamers and players alike will be treated to an entirely new experience with Vergil as DLC content on the Xbox Live Marketplace and PSN soon after the games release which is amazing news for fans of the Katana wielding warrior and my favorite character Vergil Sparda.

If you thought it ended there you were wrong! Most requested character Vergil gets a fresh story, gameplay, enemies and more all for the low price of 720msp on the Xbox Live Marketplace or $8.99 on PSN. Did you really think i was going to leave you hanging without a patented MrDarkPhoenix free alternative? Wanna get it for free loyal reader/ gamer ? How about this pre-order the game at Gamestop or EB Canada and you’ll get a voucher code so that way when the DLC comes out you get to downloading and free of charge you get to use Yamato the day Vergil’s Downfall is released free of charge and asap, isn't that the best gift i can give you?!

DMC: Devil May Cry will be coming to us January 13th 2013 for Xbox360, PS3
A PC version will be released soon after the consoles so don’t worry about that

What will make Vergil’s Downfall epic:

Long length! This is supposed to explain Vergil who is apparently on a good standing with humanity i want a good reason to why he hates humans and what caused that drastic change in his personality.
Weapon changes are good for Dante so I’m really hyped to see what changes they give to Vergil.
No guns! So the Spiral Swords will most likely be coming back I’m eager to see how they incorporate them in the new DMC engine.

well this is "kinda" a spoiler for those who haven't played a dmc game. but i think most gamers on n4g already have.

rezzah4180d ago

Gameplay has changed, especially when 4 of the same slow hammer hits get you a triple S.

makes me wonder if the player could have kept pressing the hit button or if that 4 slow hits where a combo (somehow).

r214181d ago

That is one long ass description!

RyuX194181d ago

Thought the same thing. But yeah I still don't like this game, but this DLC does look good. The trailer didn't show any of the BS wanna be hardcore crap that the other trailers have showed. Also looks like it might not have any of that crappy Fox News conspiracy crap ripped straight up from They Live.

If the reboot was just like this, a re-imagining with cool environments then it would have been cool, but no they had to have all that other BS and Tameem and Company had to open up their dumb mouths and talk crap about the past games. If they were cool it would have been all good.

rezzah4180d ago

I wonder who would win, out of the two Virgils.

pompombrum4180d ago (Edited 4180d ago )

Going by that description I have to wonder how much Capcom paid the article writer. Not even going to read the whole thing on the website but that description almost read like an extended advert.

RivetCityGhoul4180d ago (Edited 4180d ago )

sorry but i stick with the real DMC, this DmC imposter bullcrap disgusts me.

Wow, I wished I could play like that lol.

Still overall the story is what makes DMC to me, which is why I hope this reboot is the first and last.

Ranking the Devil May Cry Series

VGChartz's Mark Nielsen: "Upon finally finishing Devil May Cry 5 recently - after it spent several years on my “I’ll play that soon” list - I considered giving it a fittingly-named Late Look article. However, considering that this was indeed the final piece I was missing in the DMC puzzle, I decided to instead take this opportunity to take a look back at the entirety of this genre-defining series and rank the entries. What also made this a particularly tempting notion was that while most high-profile series have developed fairly evenly over time, with a few bumps on the road, the history of Devil May Cry has, at least in my eyes, been an absolute roller coaster, with everything from total disasters to action game gold."

First to last for me...3,4,5,1,2.

VersusDMC5d ago

Me leaving it out should be telling of my thoughts on it. Better than 2 as a DMC game.

Still a good game though.

Exvalos4d ago

What a weird name, it's essentially devil may cry, devil may cry lol

Cacabunga4d ago

Best to good for me: 3, reboot, 1, 5

2 and 4 are trash, didnt like any of them.
5 has very good gameplay variety but i hated the foes.. it is just insects the whole time. Reboot has the best foes for me

Friendlygamer5d ago

3,1,4,5 to me, never played 2. 5 gameplay is amazing but level design was really disappointing to me, just a bunch of plain arenas, the story felt like a worse written rehash of the 3rd and the charater models looked weird ( specially the ladies ). Another problem with 5 was that there was not enough content for 3 charaters so I could never really familiarize with any of them

2.
Dmc.
4.
5.
1.
3.

God DMC2 was an awful game.
And in case this isn't obvious it goes worst to best

Yui_Suzumiya4d ago

1 and DmC. The rest are unimportant.

DarXyde4d ago

Order changes depending on your focus. I tend to focus on gameplay/fun factor, so...

5, 3, 1, 4, 2.

I really didn't like 4 but commend Dante's weapon diversity. The retreading of old ground was pretty unacceptable to me.

But even then... Still more enjoyable than 2 for me

SeTTriP4d ago

This right here is my order as I thought DMC 5 was amazing and obviously 3 comes after 4 was great and 1 for the nastilgic value it holds 2 was so terrible that my local GameStop gave full refunds to people who returned it.

I hope he forms a new studio soon

It is a good studio.. i really enjoyed their dmc game that i platinumed it.
I did not try hellblade, because it doesnt tell me much.. Enslaved was very mehhh
Heavenly Sword was good not great. Amazing graphics back in the day but so repetitive and not so engaging in the long run.

stoney10116d ago

I really enjoyed Enslaved and Heavenly Sword back in the day. Wish they'd return to that sort of game. Hellblade isn't really for me to be honest. Not saying it's not a good game, I just couldn't get into it.

Popsicle16d ago (Edited 16d ago )

That is fair. I enjoyed Hellblade but can definitely see how it isn’t for everyone.

Would like to see how Heavenly Sword would have turned out if developed today. It’s easy to forget that games like Heavenly Sword were unprecedented and in their infancy.

shinoff218315d ago (Edited 15d ago )

Enslaved has been their favorite game for me. Loved the atmosphere.

1nsomniac16d ago

Heavenly sword was a staggeringly good game!! One of the most memorable of the PS3 generation in my opinion.

Babadook716d ago (Edited 16d ago )

Heavenly sword was good. It had ambitious graphics and as a result the frame rate suffered and as a result the gameplay suffered. But the story was phenomenal. Great acting, especially Andy Serkis as the king.

Jingsing16d ago (Edited 16d ago )

"Microsoft" we all read between the lines. We have seen the exact same thing happen with many of their other acquisitions

InUrFoxHole15d ago

Jesus man! Try reading the article at least.

cthulhucultist16d ago

One thing that pleasantly surprised me, was the Switch port, as back then it was my only console. The graphics were amazing and the artistic design helped a lot to enhance the visuals.I took some really impressive screen shots while playing which I still revisit them from time to time to remind me what a capable developer (QLOC) can achieve with weaker hardware.

5 Years Later, Devil May Cry 5 Still Quenches My Hack-And-Slash Thirst Like No Other

Huzaifah from eXputer: "Devil May Cry 5, the latest iteration in the iconic DMC franchise by Capcom, still holds its own as a fantastic hack-and-slash in 2024."
