The Next Mass Effect: A Galaxy Of Possibility

feedback for a new Mass Effect game, the series is in a very strong position to expand and explore the hundreds of scenarios that have been referenced in Mass Effect lore. The only thing we know is that Commander Shepard will not be the central figure in the next Mass Effect game, which means BioWare is not limited in which story can be told next.

sry but i just cant imagine myself playing Mass Effect without Shepard,Garrus ect.

I like the idea of a whole new character, Shepard's story has been wrapped up. Leave him alone. However the ending to mass effect 3 left me wondering if Bioware is willing to put in the work for another series. The ending was a lazy way of wrapping everything up quickly, and it had a "lets just be done with it" kind of feeling. I loved the mass effect games, but I dont want to start another series that is building to another disappointing ending. And with all the talk of what everyone wants fixed and added to the next series I find it hard to believe that Bioware is up to the task. I loved the series but if I'm being honest Bioware has fallen short as far as story goes for not only mass effect but dragon age as well.

What if Bioware were to make another Jade Empire?

KcGen4179d ago

I think it might be a good idea for bioware to revisit an older game that hasn't been touched in a long time. Bring fresh ideas to the table but have a basic idea already developed. I would be interested in seeing what they do with something like that. However if that game turned out to be a flop that would be the end of my love for bioware. To already have a world created and still not deliver would be unforgivable.

Shepard has always been kinda bland and 2-dimensional to me, so I welcome a new lead. And on next-gen consoles hopefully they make the characters less robotic.

I really enjoyed the ending to the mass effect trilogy(the amended one, never saw the original). There was so much to consider by the end how each of the three choices affect everything in the universe and how right and wrong good and bad could be flipped when viewed from the perspective of each race. Very clever stuff, it probably went over the heads of most folk which is why it got bad comments but it was very moving I thought.

I didn't feel the original ending was sufficient for the story Bioware had crafted over the course of 3 games, but I also felt the backlash over it was ridiculous. ME3 is a fantastic game, but folks were focused solely on the final few minutes and excluding the great gameplay that led to that point in the story. People were calling it a terrible game due to the last few moments. That doesn't make any sense. I also felt the final version of the revised endings were good and I have no real issue with the update to the endings Bioware made. I appreciate they listened to the criticism and made changes. The Mass Effect series is without a doubt my favorite gaming experience this generation, and I own a PS3 and 360, so that assessment covers a vast quantity of games this gen. I'm on board for wherever and whenever Bioware takes Mass Effect next.

ES3 set things off, it's a shame they got greedy and decided to cut corners so the executives could get huge pay days.

Better not bring back Shepherd from the dead with some half assed space magic.

Snowb420533d ago

If you get your readiness level high enough in Mass Effect 3, *spoilers* you can see Shepard taking in a breath of air under some rubble. It would depend on whichever ending is canon.

@snowb420.
Yeah I saw that at the end of my play through as well. I think they will bring Shepard back….. or at least a mutant version turned villain. Lol
