My problem with Musou games is that, having played several, I never feel the need to buy a new game at release. So if I'm interested, I wait for a good sale or price-drop.

And when that happens, two new games in the series have come out, usually making the one I initially had my eye on pointless.

Lol yeah sounds about right.

I imported the original Ken's Rage 2 from Japan (Hokuto Musou) as I couldn't be arsed to wait for it to get a PAL release. Decent game but the plus side was when I eventually sold it over a year later I didn't lose any money on it. :D

Eh, what?

Kens Rage is Hokuto Musou.
Kens Rage 2 is Shin Hokuto Musou and not out in Japan...

My bad, it was a typo...notice how I said 'original' and also called it Hokuto Musou rather than Shin Hokuto Musou...christ.

Yeah Ken's Rage was OK, I played through once but it's not the sort of game I'd pay full price for, like Dynasty Warriors, it's a $20 max purchase.

Ken's Rage just feels too slow. It feels like the characters have anchors on there arms and legs. It's not a bad game but I wish it was more like Sengoku Basura 3.

well this one covers season 2 of the anime. I think it pretty much covers all of season 1 too. People wish it played like Sengoku Basara must never saw Hokuto No Ken anime. Ken is a countering master.

I'm currently watching Hokuto No Ken 2 on hulu *hints my avatar*. The game feels really sluggish and would be better if it had the same variety that Sengoku Basara 3 gives to the player. The game gets the signature moves right and that happens to be the best part of the game. Everything between getting the signature moves feels like a chore. I just hope they improved the basic gameplay in Ken's Rage 2.

Game Guys review - Fist of the North Star: Ken's Rage 2

Those of us old enough to remember watching anime in the 80's might remember a rather good yet violet series called 'Fist of the North Star'. It was set in a gory post-apocalyptic world and is often refered to as one of the best animes of its time. Fast forward to 2013 and its setting is still quite popular today, though the recent video game the anime inspired, Fist of the North Star: Ken's Rage 2, is far inferior to its source material.

rawDLC: Fist of the North Star: Ken’s Rage 2 review

Fist of the North Star: Ken’s Rage 2 leaves no lasting impression and is only fleetingly entertaining, at best. The combat is repetitive to the point of disinterest, the power-up system lacks impact and the Dream Mode feels more like busy work and time filler. C’mon Tecmo Koei, take a chance and break the mould a little. Those of you hoping and praying for a return to former glory, Fist of the North Star: Ken’s Rage 2 isn’t it.

What a waste of an incredible, classic manga/anime property.
