5 PS3 games that deserve a sequel

PS3 Attitude: "While some franchises simply refuse to go away, others seriously struggle to make the leap into multi-game territory. This can be for a number of reasons, but usually comes down to poor sales, regardless of how popular the game is among those who played it. This week, we’ve been discussing the likelihood of whether or not we’ll see a sequel to five of our favourite PS3 games."

I'd want a Heavenly Sword sequel to stray away from being like God of War

ATi_Elite4181d ago

Why the HELL does this have a PC Tag?

This has NOTHING to do with PC Gaming?

Hell it even has a Xbox360 Tag!!!

What the heck are you people doing over there? All those who approved this should be RESTRICTED from approving stories for 5 days!

PAY ATTENTION PEOPLE!

stefhutch204181d ago

What are you talking about?

Three out of five of the featured games are also available on Xbox 360 and PC. Maybe YOU'RE the one who needs to pay attention.

Valenka4181d ago

While the article was good, I hate ones that classify multi-platform titles as if it were a console exclusive. Like, just say "5 Games That Deserve a Sequel." Don't say "PS3 Games" unless they're exclusives.

stefhutch204181d ago

You make a fair point, but you have to bear in mind that we're a dedicated PS3 site. The reason I specified the platform was so people wouldn't leave comments saying 'How could you miss Lost Odyssey?' or whatever.

I hope that makes sense. :)

ziggurcat4181d ago

3D dot game heroes, yes... L.A. noire? ...not so much. great game, but not something that lends itself to a sequel.

Wigriff4181d ago

I would LOVE another 3D Dot Game Heroes. Hell, wouldn't it be cool if they did the same sort of thing for 'old school' JRPG's as well?

MidnytRain4181d ago (Edited 4181d ago )

3D Dot Game Heroes was a very fun, memorable, and at times, maddening game, lol. I would totally get into a sequel. A truly unappreciated PS3 exclusive.

Wigriff4181d ago

Didn't it sell 3 or 4 times more copies in North America than anticipated? I'm kinda shocked that there hasn't been talk of a sequel in all these years. It might be a niche market, but that niche is obviously more expansive than they thought initially. *shrug*

Horny4181d ago

Loved 3d dot heroes and would definitely purchase the sequel. Heavenly sword was a good game as well, maybe they have something in mind for ps4.

L.A. Noire And Bully — Rockstar's Lost Gems That Deserve A Sequel As Much As GTA

Hanzala from eXputer: "I do appreciate GTA 6, Rockstar, but if I could trade it for a new L.A. Noire or a Bully game, I'd do so in a heartbeat."

Skuletor18d ago

How are they lost? You can get L.A. Noire on Steam, PS5, Xbox Series and Nintendo Switch and Bully is on the PS5 and Xbox Series too.

Psychonaut8518d ago

I want a new Manhunt game. But that will never happen.

Demetrius18d ago

Mfs are too sensitive nowadays and would cry instead of being concerned bout real world problems

Demetrius18d ago

Whenever gta 6 launch we won't be getting another rockstar title for another 10 years lol but on the positive side they bou to come back n show how open world supposed to be done 🔥

Skuletor18d ago

I won't expect any singleplayer DLC like IV's The Lost & Damned or The Ballad of Gay Tony after it launches either

PlayStation 3 Games That Desperately Need a PS5 Remaster

The PlayStation 3 may not have been the strongest generation for Sony, but there were still some diamonds in the rough that deserve a revisit as PS5 remasters.

Even if they could just remaster and put on PSVR2, some would still look great as VR titles and could do a whole lot to bolster the headset w these exclusives! I'd imagine the investment of reworking these titles into VR would be way less than building new games from the ground up, and they could be amazing experiences, and VR often makes flat games feel fresh again. The Resistance and Killzone games are particularly what I want to see!!

Rude-ro47d ago

I played killzone 3 in 3d and it really changed the game per being immersive.
In vr, that would be even more awesome.

darthv7247d ago

Funny you mention that... my son wanted to play some PS3 games in 3d on my PS tv and he was blown away by how good KZ3 was. It really was a great addition to the game. Im surprised there have not been more 3d games from that era being ported to the PSVR/VR2.

_SilverHawk_47d ago

resistance 1-3, killzone 1-3, uncharted 1-3, uncharted golden abyss, folklore, socom 4 , motorstorm, twisted metal, MAG, heavenly sword

Cacabunga47d ago

Killzone 2+3
Sly Thieves in Time
Crack in Time
God of War Ascension
Motorstorm
Modnation racer
Infamous 1+2

Profchaos47d ago (Edited 47d ago )

Killzone trilogy in VR would be amazing bonus points if they offer shadow fall.

There was a psvr1 Killzone project that supermassive was working on at one stage which wasn't up to scratch and Sony brand it back in house I was hoping we would see that on psvr2 eventually.

Personally I'd love to see some more love or acknowledgement of psvr2 from Sony in general it was a expensive headset and Sony barely acknowledge it's existence

seanpitt2347d ago

The amount of work needed to remaster these games wouldn't be beneficial on a financial and business sense.. MGS4 would probably be the best bet as it would need the least amount of work!

Iceball200047d ago

YEAAASSSSS! I miss this franchise and wanna play it so bad again.

Father__Merrin47d ago

The time is perfect for a resistance fall of man game campaign coop multiplayer

InUrFoxHole47d ago

The resistance series is str8 trash to me. Socom 3 I would welcome. Or killzone MP.

Marcus Fenix47d ago

A Resistance reboot will be awesome

Michiel198947d ago

That's what Bungie should make, Ill keep saying it until it happens

1Victor47d ago (Edited 47d ago )

Resistance was ok but Warhawk and Starhawk was better and kept me coming back for almost a decade of fun and petty revenge on the loud mouth unskilled players 🤣
Edit I loved capture the flag dropping the pot on the flag carrier was extremely satisfying as well as transforming your plane in bot form and stumping them to death 😱

Michiel198947d ago

Resistance was the best co-op fps I ever played after L4D2

12 Years Later, L.A. Noire is Still an Excellent Experience

There was a lot to love about Rockstar and Team Bondi's 2011 open world title.

One I never finished. I've been looking at the ps4 version off Amazon the last few months just never bit

Knightofelemia123d ago

It's worth playing LA Noire is one of my favorite Rockstar games. But I would also check out pawnshops or thrift stores if you want the game dirt cheap. Someone may have been dumb enough to dump the game.

andy85123d ago

Baffles me when people have these opinions about acclaimed games 😂

RhinoGamer88124d ago

100% agree... not perfect, but an engaging/refreshing experience.

sagapo123d ago

Agree, at time of release those facial expressions were amazing! They still hold strong even today imo.
The game on its own was good. Something fresh, but sidequests were a bit meh after a while.

Nacho_Z124d ago

I picked it up on sale recently, going to play it next summer. I'll get more out of it this time, first time around I treated the open world like it was GTA and goofed about, whereas now I'll play it with more respect. RDR2 has trained me well.

I also hadn't read Raymond Chandler at the time so presumably that'll add another layer of enjoyment too.

1nsomniac124d ago (Edited 124d ago )

Absolutely stunning game. So underrated. Played through it again last year and it still stands up so well. Like many of rockstars games it’s actually a far better experience on PC. I didn’t enjoy it as much on console. Completed it at least 3 times on pc.

The rumours of a sequel are awesome news despite the fact I think Rockstar are now the shell of the company they once were.

SyntheticForm123d ago

Team Bondi made a hell of a game.
