Assassins Creed 3 – 9.5 wtf? I cant even bring myself to finish it, each there own i guess, I really enjoyed Dishonored, playing through it again to get the platinum

Also... why are people comparing AC to Hitman and Dishonored?

Hitman and Dishonored make more sense to compare, since they are the same genre of game

AC is more comparable to red dead, and GTA.

They are different games, and your likliness of liking the game, depends on your tastes.

If you like open world games, you'll probably like AC

If you like stealth games, you will like Dishonored and Hitman

AC - DISHONORED - HITMAN .. they all are about assassinating people.

well that was in ac1 anyway ..
I believe ac and dishonored are really close ..but dishonored is much much better because its more focused on the good stuff while ac have gone worse for the sake of variety .. didn't play ac3 yet (waiting for the pc version )

Does that mean that Halo 4 is like Dishonored and AC? You assassinate people in that game? How about uncharted?

As someone who played both games... they are very different

Dishonored is not open world... its wide linear

They are different games... the only similarities is the character is an assassin and they kill people... but thats it. Nothing else can be compared

Umm, Dishonored is not linear by any means. If anything, Dishonored and Hitman are very similar. Both offer huge sandbox levels with a wide variety of gameplay options. I enjoyed Dishonored VERY much and made the wait for Hitman less painful. Either way, November 20th can't come soon enough.

in ac1 you had a list " Nine men needs to die .."
dishonerd is the same .. and the way you approche these people is very special and how you face them ..

halo and un are like killing the guards in ac .. I am talking about killing the big boys ( some special group of guys) here and when I say assassinate I mean stealth and planing .. (something that is missing from all the ac games so far .. except the first game)

being an open world game doesn't mean better .. dishonered feel like an open world game though. and the way you navigate the environment is crazy that crate endless possibilities

the same thing I can say about ac3 .. wide linear .. from what I ve heard the opening level they got you to follow arrows .. no freedom .. where dishonered is the complete opposite ... still I don't want to judge the game yet. ( still didn't play it )

my favorite ac games are .. ac1( BERFECT!!) and revelation so far

I felt the same way about both Dishonored AND Assassin's Creed. I think AC3 is probably the best game in the series, but after 100% completion of AC2, i've just never been able to enjoy myself in that world. I get bored too quickly.

I couldn't finish any AC game, but I love AC3. Interesting. Also Dishonored was one of the best games of the year. Insanely addicting gameplay; great universe.

Still an opinion. I genuinely love the game, but I don't slam sites when they give said game a low score, because it's their opinion. It's pointless to complain, they arent going to change their score because an eight year old is complaining in the comments that their score was "wrong". Just please dont bring up other sites opinions in a negative matter, to each his own.

See, I didn't enjoy Dishonored. Maybe not my type of game, however AC3 is and I see the game at a 9 rating, 9.5 may be a bit too much though.

In the end, the score at the end is all people care about, when in reality...people need to read the review first... and understand why that score was given to the game

indeed its not much compared to dishonored, a fresh great new ip..
i fell for the hype for ac3, and as a game for the first 10 or so hours its all over the place.
then it settles down a bit, and i realized they havnt really evolved the series or brought it to another level like all the hype leading up to the release would make you believe...

its still a decent game, that can get frustrating at times,i had to drag myself back to play on after a string of buggy fetch quest like missions,
the game could of used at least another 6 months to polish.. i give it an 8.0

ign review the games by there opinion and not what the game deliver , look at gt5 review , they hated the game because it's too hard so they played it less then 5 hours , have bad looking smoke , forza is more fun and realistic to them , they forgotten every thing that makes gt5 a good game and just mentioned what they hate about it and compared it to forza , no one hyped gt5 because it took PD 5 years to release it , so ign reviews are not for real gamers that looking for good games , little big planet karting looks fun and worth at least 7/10 to real gamers ...

real gamers means a person who love games and search for every good game to play it and have fun , what ign do is a work not gaming , they play the game to review it to get money, they are not playing it for fun like us , thats the perfect reason to not take there opinion seriously , i played many games that got bad reviews and scores but they are really fun...

i dont consider my self king of gamers , i just dont want someone mis a game like little big planet karting because of a score or a payed opinion...

GTR would you recommend Hitman even if I haven't played any game of the series? I am really liking what I have seen from the trailers, but I don't know if I would be lost if I play this one only.

No each game has a seperate story. They will probably explain a lot since its been 6 yrs. Plus usually the games majn focus is on the contracts you are performing. Buy it.

I subscribe to GameInformer (Physical). They are a great read, but they do tend to have higher review scores. They are owned by Gamestop, so they need to sell games.

Plus, if you notice, Gameinformer are usually the 'go-to' guys for first reviews, as it gaurantess a near perfect score.

I wasn't even aware until now that a new Paper Mario was coming soon... I enjoyed the Wii game, but too bad I don't own a 3DS yet :( I think the scores all look reasonable and pretty much fit in with my opinion on the games that I played. And Hitman really starts to get more and more interesting, probably a game I'll get for christmas.

Dishonored is a 9.5+ for me. Fantastic game, 1st run took me 15+ hours. Low chaos. After semester is over, i'm going to do high chaos run!

Assassin's Creed 3 got a 9.5? I thought it was the least of them all. It didn't even feel like an AC game. 007 Legends getting a 4 made me happy. I'm glad I'm not the only person who hated it. Hitman Absolution getting an 8.75 is pretty pleasing. I would have preferred to see a higher score, but I myself have rated the Hitman games at 8, so I'm content.

Id give AC3 at least a 9. Its not perfect but damn i cant remember the last game i loved this much. Metroid Prime, MGS3, SOTC, Lost Odyssey, Alan Wake, Uncharted 2, Demons Souls, AC3 sits alongside of these titles which floored me. Then again i havent played an AC title since 2. I did play Liberation but thats not really comparable to the console games. In fact it made me all the more impressed with AC3 because i saw the ideas from it fleshed out like trading, naval battles, frontier (bayou), exc.

Liberation was solid for a vita title until it broke. I wouldnt have bought 3 if the game broke before but unfortunately i bought 3 the day before Liberation gliched out. Cant praise 3 without mentioning the rushed buggy POS they pawned off on thirsty Vita owners (like me). Stay far away from that game.

Meh. Assassin's Creed has been milked so much I'd rather stay away from this till the price drops. Can't imagine paying full price (80$ here) for something I don't enjoy. Kinda didn't get the point of jumping through rooftops(or trees this time) as "assassination." :P

Considering the high-and-low scores WWE '13 has been getting, I'm surprised GameInformer gave it a 9 and gave Hitman a 8.75. I know, two very different game types, but based on scores, GameInformer is saying WWE '13 is the better than Hitman. Legit shocking.

And that's why I think scores are completely pointless. You're trying to compare two games of completely different genres to each other based on nothing but an abstract number...that can't possibly work. Perhaps WWE 13 got a slightly higher mark due to the masses of customisation options or available characters...doesn't make it better, just that it has a few more features.

I'd honestly prefer no review scores, with a thumbs up, in the middle or down along with a quick summary of bullet points from the review in pro and con form for those who just want to glance at a review to get an idea. The main bulk of the text should always take precedence over the score...always.

Code of Princess got a pretty good score probably around the same range that I would give it; which reminds me I need to finish that game. LittleBigPlanet Karting is also the same as much bad press as it's been getting I took a leap and got it I am shocked at how much I am enjoying it. Well not shocked given that the same people who made Modnation helped make it with a LBP paint job over it.

Games like AC3 and Hitman : Absolution are too much based on users preference to judge them from just a review scores, I personally think that many reviewers won't like Hitman: Absolution, because almost all reviewers play like total hammer-heads, they just won't be able to enjoy stealth.

Of course Hitman Absolution is more forgiving, let's see how it plays.

But if you love stealth then Hitman is a MUST, in my opinion Hitman is the best Assassin/Hitman character ever created.

Also, every game is based on user preference. Do you think that reviewers are emotionless robots? They have opinions too, that's what reviews are, opinions on how good a game is using various deciding criteria which, again, come from individual opinion.

I am just saying that most reviews are too much based on opinion, rather than technical things, like glitches, performance, graphics.

And they are useless in that way, they sure tell you about the game, but score alone, for some games, can tell you nothing, since the reviews are so much based on the reviewers preference.

What I can say is that both AC3 and H:A are/will be worth playing.

AC3 is fine. The only people to blame are the people who over-hyped it for themselves. The location is refreshing. I got bored looking at the same style of city for 3 games.

The navy missions were awesome fun. Could be a game in itself there.

9.5 is a little high though. More like 8.5

Dishonored was damn awesome, though this is NOT an open-world game. It's 'wide-linear'. There is a difference. Loved the powers and how they fit in with the level design, which was also awesome.

Working on AC3, gave Dishonored a shot and could not get into it, it felt like a side game to Bioshock, for a said"steampunk" game it really pushed your POWERS more then the steampunk upgrade tree. I didn't hate the title just felt like what we got and what was sold was diffrent, the trailers showed a darker game granted char models where kinda animated in looks, though when you play it they are really put out there but try to play serious in tone and blood which I dunno was not my cup of tea.

Its not a bad game at all, just feel like its one of those Simpsons did it first moment when comparing it to Bioshock (for this gen). I hope Dishonored sells well and gets a follow up which may change something and hook me to it. Until then I'll wait for the upcoming Bioshock game.

In regards to Hitman its a buy, i've enjoyed the others, though I never got to play the original on PC.
