Your hate for MMORPGs is irrelevant. They have their place in this industry and a lot of people love them.

They also make possible a lot of things that single player RPGs can't, like forming bonds with other, real, people. And FFXIV created a whole lot of bonds and a great community.

There have been several offline Final Fantasy. Surely there's room for two online ones.

Players have been sent by Lousieaux in a statis between time and space (you see it at the end of the trailer), and will wake up five years later, as Eorzea has finally recovered from most of the destruction.

While I agree with you Abriael, they shouldn't waste such quality on an Mmo. Mmo's have there place and are great additions to gaming, but...still. This shoulda went into a story based RPG not an mmo. Like The old republic...they shoulda made an MMo and Kotor 3 instead of TOR

Edit--- I really like what S-E did with FFXIV though, in the way that the world was ending or whatever, and the Forerunner looking sphere was coming towards Eorzea etc. It's a great way to release a new updated version of FFXIV

Agreed. MMORPG's can do alot of things single player RPG's can't do.

Obviously you cannot have the usual unique final fantasy story telling but MMO's can have a decent enough story.

This game does look interesting, but i don't want to put 1000+ hours into another game anymore.

They could have done that, but it would confuse others in a way.

It also doesn't matter if it is a numbered series or not. Actually by having a number in the title sales would probably increase because its not a spin-off.

Both FF MMOs arE great games 14 just needed some tweaks and never should have been released when it did.

That was an awesome cutscene if I had kept up with the story I'm sure it be even better. I'm a little bummed I got my times mixed up I thought the event was ending tonight at midnight pst so I'm real happy to see the cutscene at least.

Wtf is wrong with all you people? Complaining that this looks too good to be an MMO? There's TONS of offline FF RPGs and even more coming, what"s the problem? Why not just be thankful that this one is at least (finally) coming to PS3?

It's a great looking game and there's no reason not to at least give it a try, even if you're not into MMO or against paying a subscription you could at least try it off temporarily.

The complaints are so pointless, SE makes way too much on these to not make them and there's no reason to make them of a lower quality just so people can claim the offline titles to be better. They need to be up to date in quality just like any other new game.

Get over the title, it's a final fantasy game, they all have numbers.

I really think this game is gonna be amazing. This trailer may be just CGI, but they put in Bahamut, Magitek, and it felt like I was watching something from Final Fantasy. I can't wait to play all of the old classes and see all of the summons and references to the past games.

It was pretty cool to see all those people fight to stop the end and give Bahamut everything they had and still fail.

but there's other developers can do what square did about that .. take a look at Dead Island: Official Announcement Trailer , they did a really great job on that CGI !

Just wish they will made a new Parasite eve game with their CGI's skills , i would love to see how the transformations scenes look when they do that !

I was just like most people and thought a Final Fantasy MMO would suck, but Final Fantasy XI turned out to be one of the best games I've ever played (before the most recent updates where you can leave your computer on and max out your level in a day). People still play it on PC, PS2, and 360 after 8 years from there being so much to do in the game.

I bought FF14 when it first came out, but there wasn't much to do, laggy servers, and my gaming rig made me not want to play it since the graphics could've looked way better than the settings I had it on.

I can't wait until this drops so that I can see the improvements.

Yo Crotin main reason why FFXI is crap now with the Abyssea Exp Pack is cause the dev time that first started on FFXIV are the ones that are now working on FFXI and they took dev team of FFXI and put them on re making FFXIV a realm reborn. So you know this game is gonna kick ass big time. I'm still playing FFXI played since it first came out back in 2002 so i know how u feel bro.

When the music sort became sort of rock-y, I think it spoiled it just a little bit, but still an awesome trailer, if a little bit "western" in places.

They literally destroyed the world they created though. How classy is that as a response to criticisms? haha. Even as a statement, they brought armaggedon to their own game, in order that they may rebuild it with fan's complaints in mind. Pretty epic.

This trailer literally made a large part of the game's population cry so I say a job well done on this trailer. Was also nice seeing Wada himself on the live stream after they revealed this say they won't release it until Yoshida (the director) feels it's ready. It's already looking pretty good though so just hope they keep it up.

Wow this trailer was the best thing to come out of SquareEnix in a while. Although the original XIV trailer looked sweet, but it was nothing like the game. Which sounds terrible although it seems like it has a great community behind it. This rebirth will hopefully be what XIV needs, and hopefully XV is just as epic!

Wow this was literally the best animation I have ever seen. The setting and the characters were so dynamic. Even though this was only a 5 min trailer I feel so emotionally invested in the characters even though they didn't say a word. Would be so cool if this was 15.

Though i love VI-IX, XI was the single best FF in my opinion. this cutscene is awesome, i hated XIV but ill be returning once ARR is available to the people who bought XIV :)))
