While first impressions aren’t final (after all, the PS3 has made quite a nice comeback and the Kinect cooled swiftly after a hot start) day one success is more important than ever in today’s hype based economy.
Video games are no longer just a simple past time. Today's games are evolving into true works of art. Offering intriguing narratives, cinematic setpieces, and profound messages, games can entertain us for hundreds of hours.

I would say it does. The combat is a bit shit for todays standards but everything else is great.

Still have my ps3 copies. Bought it at launch and another one when I found it cheap and in perfect condition about 10 years ago. I wouldn’t buy it on Switch but if they made a PS5 version I would. I still have one of my PS3 Fats hooked up so good to go either way.
Id play it again on the switch. I wished my 360 version was bc but this is still a good way to play.

But I think they need to talk about why they cut so many corners during the development process and why none of their games ever look current. And why they think all of this is okay while they charge full price.
As much as Bethesda deserve criticism, that's not really relevant to the reveal of Fallout 3 in 2007.

Yeah, but thats not the result of laziness, incompetence, or a bad engine. Thats what happens with their type of open world games. Its hard for people to find a point of comparison because no one makes games like Bethesda does.

Just want to point out that many of those wii u games that are multiplatform aren't just multiplatform but are big name titles however they have also been out on other consoles for anywhere to a week to a month to a year or more, and games like BO2 don't have all their features such as COd elite supported.. this is fairly unusual looking at those lists for a consoles launch; and they don't seem to do anything particularly new on the wii u excluding like a map etc on the screen on the remote.

I think Wii U pretty much has all its bases covered. Everything from a Mario game to Call of Duty. Instant success right there.
You cannot compare a console launching with current gen titles to consoles that launched a new generation. Back when PS3 and 360 launched the technology was new so games were of a vastly lower grade while developers got used to it. The WiiU however plays current games not a new generation of games.
Not a bad launch by any means. I really want to see if ZombiU has become a true survival horror game that can live up to expectations and maybe even surpass them.
This generation been quite long but has offered many great gaming experiences for all platforms and I hope that things are just as good or perhaps even better when we finally begin the 8th generation of home consoles in just a matter of days.
