First Wii U Retail Game Arrives

Game Informer - The very first Wii U retail game arrived today at the Game Informer office in Minneapolis. Ubisoft sent a copy of Rabbids Land. The package does include a 4-page, black and white manual with a note that you can access the in-game manual by pressing the HOME button and touching the eManual button on the Wii U Gamepad.

God i hate the color of the case. It so hideous. Why would they go with that shade of blue.

Dr_Salvitor4181d ago

i think it looks nice, pops out yet its easy on the eyes.

Neonridr4181d ago

I think the blue with the yellow curved stripe on the front cover looks very slick. But that's just my opinion. Just like it's only your opinion that the box is hideous.

beerkeg4181d ago (Edited 4181d ago )

Because they wanted that design. Maybe you should give us some examples of what you would have done Mika, leave a bit of your knowledge.

SonyNGP4181d ago

He/she can't. Out of bubs!

Bluenuts94181d ago

Seriously!! That blue is awesome looking!! You're entitled to your opinion though :).

Qrphe4181d ago

I was expecting more horrid white covers like the Wii so I am very happy with what they did instead.

Blastoise4181d ago (Edited 4181d ago )

The same reason Xbox has green. Just to make it a bit different

By the way, I actually despise these damn "rabbid" things. I really wish they'd stop making these games.

JonnyBigBoss4181d ago (Edited 4181d ago )

I actually love it. Turquoise is my favorite color!

3-4-54181d ago

what? I love the color. It stands out, but isn't too loud. It's a calming color kind of.

RFornillos44181d ago

because that's how branding works... you will notice that the shade of blue they are using is the same as the "U" logo for Wii U.

anyways, i'm pretty sure some games later will come in a different color.

princejb1344180d ago

the color is easy on the eyes dude
did you forget xbox has lime green cases

OhMyGandhi4180d ago

I agree.
I dislike it because it's baby blue.
It appeals to: children.

why doesnt the box say anything about hd output or storage space used?

Neonridr4181d ago

I do wonder why there is no box of information with details such as the ones you mentioned. I mean the number of players and types of supported controllers are detailed, but the rest is missing.

ronin4life4181d ago

I would say "because it is a reviewer copy", but there seems to be other unnecessary info for that to be the case.(based on your comment)

BringingTheThunder4180d ago

if its a party game, why is it 1 player?

J_Cob4180d ago

Good point. Didn't actually notice that until reading your comment.

taquito4181d ago (Edited 4181d ago )

anything looks better than the ps3/360 cases we've been seeing for the LAST 8 YEARS!

lol....nahhhh.....seriously, totally geeked for the new system, though i did just buy the limited edition xbox 360 halo 4 console today, target was giving $20 giftcards with it so it was $329, I gave my 360 away to my kid nephews a long time ago, but halo 4 sounded too epic to miss, hopefully I can sell it for $350 in a few months when i'm bored with it, there is not a single game after halo 4 that I'll play on the thing.

*edit, going forward, all games should have to print the NATIVE resolution of the game on the back, it's bs how devs purposely lie in interviews to make their game sound better than it is....cough.....activision black ops 2 is FULL HD on the wii u ....cough

full hd is NATIVE 1080p, anything less is ancient history

Neonridr4181d ago

but if they had to put the native resolutions on the boxes, we would then know that most 360/PS3 games are aren't even rendered in native 720p. LOL

I agree though, I mean if we are going with the display output, then everything is going to be 1080p. I would like to know what games are actually 1080p versus 720 or less then upconverted.

jetpacksheep4181d ago

I hate how on the back of Xbox 360 games it says 1080p, its really not, its barely 720p half the time.

QuebecSuperstar4181d ago

Great! Now what I want to know is if the Wii U discs have a protective coating like the Blu-Rays. Does anybody know?

Rabbids Land Review | Wiiloveit

"Rabbids Land represents much more than just a casual misstep. It falls exceedingly low of series standards, not only proving flimsy in the gameplay department, but also manifesting traits uncharacteristic of the brand. In fact, the drop is so sharp and, dare I say, off the grid, I can't understand how the team was content with releasing such a mishandling of the property." -- Wiiloveit.com
