I'm the only one feeling insulted by this, aren't I?

Three games, post three games, and they're just now getting around to showing a plot non-critical female from another species.

To be fair though, it was a massive artistic challenge to create a female turian. They've thrown the idea around since the first Mass Effect, as evidenced in videos released over the past few years, but weren't able to work out how to convincingly portray a female turian.

I think they did well though, I like the design.

DeadlyFire4182d ago

I wouldn't judge it to harshly. Mass Effect is really the only one of a few Sci-Fi franchises that defines more than one or two species with female characters.

Sure others have female characters of different species, but they never show up in a video game.

No one remember the fact that we never saw a Krogan female til ME3? As they were all precious and 'In-hiding'....Wonder if the same reason is given for Turian women, lol.

Are you sure about that? Maybe it's just that to most humans the sexes of some races seem identical.

Most people can't identify the sex of most animals if they can't see the naughty bits so why should it be any different for aliens. Especially ones that wear clothes.

Godmars2904182d ago

Or maybe, just maybe, between things like this, not immediately introducing female aliens, standardizing architectural designs and modifying a stock photo for a character reveal, they were creatively lazy or overly cheap.

I mean this wouldn't be that big a deal to me if this was happening for ME4, but this is post saga DLC.

@DeadlyFire:
No, its because of things like this, ME3's original ending, introducing NPC races into multiplayer as playable character, that the series should be harshly judge.

It looks like shes wearing a mask.

But does she have flexibility?

gillri4182d ago

Salarian delatros and alternative council member were female. Urdnot Bakara for the krogan. Of course needless to say we have seen quarians (not touching the photo issue), and by now asari are a moot point.

Still, having said that, one would have expected to see a few during the parven mission. Nonetheless, It will be interesting to get a female perspective on the turian meritocracy if narrative allows.

Will definitely be bringing Garrus along for the craic!

He was one of my least favorite characters. I wish they would have done the Proths different.
