Nintendo has announced that it will be supplying 5,000 Wii U kiosks over the holiday season in order to allow consumers a chance to try-out the Wii U for themselves before picking one up.
The Wii U kiosk stations will be made available across the United States, Nintendo stated in a press-release this morning, Starting now, more than 5,000 interactive Wii U kiosks will roll out at select retail stores across the United States, inviting families and consumers to discover the unique gaming and entertainment experiences made possible by Wii U and its touch-screen Wii U GamePad controller”.
Hanzala from eXputer: "The cruel hammer of Nintendo has fallen. Farewell, 3DS and Wii U, you surely brightened my life and many others; you won't be forgotten."
Hanzla from eXputer inquires: "If Xbox can care about preserving its games and legacy, what exactly is wrong with Nintendo, trying to kill game preservation single-handedly?"
Ahh yes the good old game preservation of saving all your games to a removable hhd on the Xbox 360, taking it round your mates house, setting up multiple tvs to
Be met with “save data corrupted, please re download”
Or how about removing 360 games
From the store
, download them now or else, and, better hope to god that save data doesn’t corrupt, or it’s lost for ever
Nice one ☝️
This is just a scammy PR move to distract from the fact they are going digital only and trying to push streaming and subscriptions only.
No gaming company has pushed harder to remove ownership than Microsoft.
Without discs there is no preservation, preservation can't be done by the rights holders it can only be done by the consumers, anything else is a lie.
Nobody wants this. Sales or the lack of it in the case of XBOX is very telling. I wonder how the adorably all digital series X will fare. Adorably dismal perhaps?
Only time will tell, but for from someone like me suspecting that Xbox is trying to gracefully exit the console market, that "forward compatibility" team is trying to get Xbox games playing on Windows PCs. I mean, it's nice that they're not planning on exiting with a "enjoy your games while the hardware still works" message, so that's nice. They still have a brand to protect via Microsoft so probably feel obligated to have a better exit strategy.
Danish from eXputer: "Nintendo has historically gone against player-made content and emulation of its games. This has done much to harm the company's image."
They need to stop announcing these mods and fan remakes until they're finished. Finish it, upload it, and then if Nintendo dmca's it tough shit. Once it's online, people can share it around, even if the original download gets taken down.
This is all coming from the mouth of short-sighted fandom and grifting madness.
No.... it wont. There is a clear defined reason why they don't. This is nothing new. Make your own shi7 from your own original ideas especially if you are trying to capitalize of it it. Duh.
Yeah, hire people that have zero respect or understanding for an established process. Wow. Yep. Totally makes sense.
i hated my experience with the wiiu demo stations
first the tv didnt work, then when it did work the sound was off
oh well i'll wait till the 18th to get a true experience
Are Canadians getting the shaft? Oh well I'll wait until its in my living room.
Its a beautiful system & is so fast & responsive compared to the laggy current gen offerings.. Im still waiting until E3 before deciding on if im buying this or wait til nx gen gets here.. I cant see myself using that gamepad for all my games.. but who knows, it could happen if nintendo gets the right multiplats & 3rd party exclusives
Can they give us another demo besides Rayman? It doesn't really do much to sell the system. I want a ZombiU demo.
They had a kiosk at my local best buy on saturday & it showed me two glaring problems (granted it might have been just my scenario)
1. While i stood & watched with my 4 year old son while a girl looking to be around 7 played ray man origins i saw one thing i thought would be an issue since ive heard about the controller, the little girl played for a total of about 5 minutes she almost never took her eyes off the contorler, whats the point of having a 50" tv if your not going to look at it.
2. My 4 year old son who has plenty of experince with multiple consoles dating all the way back to NES up until ps3/xbox360 played for about 3 minutes then told me "this is to heavy" (handed me the controller) then said "this is boring" might have been the game though it was rayman origin, but the kid loves little big plannet which is pretty damn similar.
