News On PS Vita’s Own PlayStation Plus Coming Next Week

i am NOT a PS+ member but would it be safe to assume that in order to validate any free offer games you would need to be connected to the internet?

OR, is it simply based on the duration of the membership? Where by you sign up and download some stuff and then sony just starts counting down the days whether or not you are online until the expiration.

I can only use live as an example but in some cases you download a game to your system via your gamertag and can play online and offline. If you download that same game through your gamertag to another unit, you have to be online to validate the download and play otherwise the game becomes like a demo or not playable at all.

Its a way of game sharing and I do that quite a bit. I have one system i make all my purchases through and then I have another that i use the same gamertag on to redownload them and play on. this is because i get games that I want others in the house to play as well. so they can play the full game in their profile (offline) on the system that originally purchased them and I can play the full games on my profile on another system (online).

So in relation to plus, your ps3 is pretty much online all the time so does plus validate every free offer as long as you are a member or can you play those games offline simply because your system knows you are a member and knows how long you have until your membership expires?

I had plus but then went two months without internet. All my games from instant game collection worked duing that time. Just check the "information" tab of each game to see its expiration date.

Yeah, you can definitely play all of your PS+ games without being online.

You can play the games offline, the license duration gets associated with the content once it's been downloaded, then it counts down to expiration date regardless of whether you're on, or offline.

I have 2 ps3s in my house and 4 roommates. We do this all the time except you can play online signed in as another account. Not sure if the games work offline tho. But under all of the digital purchases it says you can put it on up to 2 systems.

Would be extremely surprising if they had games like Gravity Rush, LittleBigPlanet or Uncharted. These are the best games on the system at the moment.

I'm expecting Little Deviants to be free though. Maybe even Escape Plan.

yes, they're unlikely to give what people consider AAA titles away, although they may throw one in considering it's the release and near Christmas (could be LBPVita). My bet is on Little deviants, Escape Plan (as you say), PSP classics, PS1 classics and PSMobile... perhaps a few minis too. People can't expect the Vita to have 12 top tier games from the start. But what's the betting some will?

Im willing to bet that itll be games that early adopters already own like Lil Deviants, Escape Plan, Super Star Dust, Wipeout ... etc.
So, while im excited about PS+ for Vita, i cant help but feel like im going to be screwed for a little while as i am one of those people.

I'd rather see discounts than free games. With the PS3, too. That's the biggest reason I'm not continuing my subscription.

That said, I'm hoping to see Blazblue for free so I can try it out. I've got the PS3 version... and the 3DS version, so I'm not sure if I should splurge on it or not.

It's essentially the same as the PS3 version. The question is do you want it on the go? If so, then get it lol. It definitely looks amazing on the Vita screen, plus you can play your own music and it'll automatically detect that and cut off the game music at any time. Which is awesome, although the music in-game is amazing anyway.

Yea that seems likely to be the first to go free and rope you in to buy some dlc after, cause its an old game that shows off a lot of the vitas features.

Wipeout seems like a good one for them as well.

As for a big/full title to go free they may give Unit 13.

Im just waiting to see anything on LBP vita like a discount or whatever and then regardless im going to buy it after plus drops.

Two questions:
1) If i get PS Plus and my subscription runs out; do the games i have downloaded auto-delete or just deactivate until i renew my subscription?
2) Is it too early for the Christmas hat?

2) it's always best to be early instead of being late.. Since thanksgiving is up next I recommend a pilgrim hat to fill the void.

I'm curious too. I haven't seen anything suggest that they'd be two separate services but as a Plus subscriber and a Vita owner, I'll be watching keenly as the details are revealed.

Lot of games coming out and I doubt most of them will end up free as most of them have not dropped in price yet even if they aren't the newest of Vita games.

If you go off the already announced Japanese program, they gave several PSP games and Sumioni. Since the Vita can run PS1, PSP and PSV games (also mini;s, but they hardly count), we could easily see these coming back (as PS1 games were common back in the day with plus) and forming the "instant" game collection. I mean, too many people are taking the Vita version as literally 12 or whatever Vita games. Finally, lets not forget that we could see limits or loser titles. For instance, you might need to view the store from your Vita to get the games or we could get StarDrone. Either or, you're way under thinking what they might / can do.

I have no interest in PS1 games, some PS2 games.
These are old platforms, Vita is new and fresh and I want to play new fresh experiences on it.

We have already played PS1/PS2 games, it is time to move on.

Resistance Ret is about the only PSP game I can think off the top of my head I would still like to play, never got around to purchasing it.

I'd love to see a band new patapon with some new crisp graphics and new gameplay.

I'll be happy with PSV+ either way, but i'm just saying, It makes me think twice prior to purchasing a game if i know it's on the table to maybe come out sometime soon.
