Assassin's Creed 3 Review | PS3Gen.fr

"In conclusion, if this year you need to buy one game, it would be Assassin's Creed III. Although it is best to start with the first episode and follow the plot of the series, this album offers a small retrospective way of introduction, which allows novices to learn the history and fans to get back into bath."

Has the combat been improved or made better? AC series is great but combat felt dull and slow

I really hope this one is different

grailly4186d ago

hard to say, as I'm still in the "opening sequence". I'de say that the combat really isn't that good for the moment, it feels really clunky, and fire-weapons are even worse.

that said, from looking at the trailers the combat looks to be at a batman-level. So maybe it gets better through upgrades and better weapons

dragonrage004186d ago

Agree 100%. I was very dissapointed with AC2. The tech was amazing but the gameplay was a huge letdown. Specially the combat. It was just too simplistic, clumsy, and ultimately unsatisfying.
@grailly:
Most of the cool stuff you see in the trailers are counters. Knowing this, I'm still skeptical about the game.

EvilGost4187d ago (Edited 4187d ago )

All in all very good.

Cam9774187d ago

Incredible. I really can't wait to get AC3:L and of course, AC3 itself.

GrahamGolden4186d ago

y i want to buy a vita for that game.

GamerzElite4187d ago (Edited 4187d ago )

my score 7 out of 10, Assassin Creed 3, Not as good as previous games. Worst game of Assassin Creed series. Already played. http://www.youtube.com/play...

Tctczach4187d ago

With 40 hours of alleged content and the hour and 3 minutes you have spent on it sure makes me think you know what you are talking about.

MaxXAttaxX4186d ago

Apparently, everyone that's played it or said they've played it, give a score between 7 and 8. And everyone that hasn't played it yet says they're all wrong and trust the reviews.
Most interesting....

Nimblest-Assassin4187d ago (Edited 4187d ago )

How do we know thats your channel?

Also, why would you give the game a 7? What makes you think its the worst AC?

grailly4187d ago

from what I played I would give a 7.5 or so, but from the trailers it looks to get much better later on.

Nimblest-Assassin4187d ago

How far into the game are you?

grailly4186d ago

about 2 hours I think, there were already quite a few really cool sequences. but the pacing is really slow and it has the "GTA/uncharted problem" where you play a nice guy and then f**king kill everyone when in gameplay, it feels even more disconnected than in GTA/uncharted.

otherwise the first missions are very stealthy, and coming out of dishonored it feels really off. and anyway at the end you kill everyone so it feels useless.

not saying it's bad, just pointing out the complaints, everything else is great, I love the setting, and music. I'm even really liking the characters.

martinezjesus19934186d ago

Its stupid to judge a 40 hour game after only 2 hours, my opinion anyways

Hoje03084186d ago

When have you ever played a nice guy in GTA?

grailly4186d ago

@martinez I did say that I was just judgeing the beginning, maybe not clearly enough though.

@Hoje it's mainly gta4, I should have been more accurate with that. Nico was trying his best to keep out of trouble and get on with his life. Then you play the game and kill everybody lol.

MaxXAttaxX4186d ago

Last I checked, you only killed mercenaries and pirates trying to kill you in Uncharted. Not a bunch of innocent people like in GTA.

MaxXAttaxX4186d ago

You can only disagree with opinions, not factual statements people.... *sigh*

-Gespenst-4186d ago (Edited 4186d ago )

@NathanExplosion: Oh so pirates and mercenaries are fair game are they? Like they're subhuman or something?

The point is in most games you play as a purportedly good guy who somehow has the capacity to murder hundreds of people. And they ARE people need I remind you.

gobluesamg4186d ago

When hundreds of people are trying to kill me on sight, I am going to end up killing hundreds of people. Just saying.

Games with the dumbest NPCs

Non-playable characters in certain games are meme material, thanks to their foolish behavior. These are the big-budget games with the dumbest NPCs.

Bethesda makes the most consistently stupid NPCs, like really bad... yet I still can't help but love playing their games. Guilty pleasure, I guess. *sigh* 😩

My first thought was the safe rooms in the resident evil series. When you hear that enchanting music you know you’re safe.

Killer2020UK261d ago

I literally just came here to post this. That music in the Resi 1 safe rooms is playing in my head.

Rimeskeem261d ago

I was thinking TLOU work benches. Although I remember one time where it was a false security.

closed_account260d ago

Perfect. 👌👌

I'd add the top of my highrise apartment in GTA Online. That calm, quiet peace, just knowing as soon as I step out that door I will be bombarded by 8 and 12 year olds calling each other n**** and f****, trolled by combat jets and rocket launchers.

The entire map of SotC is peaceful as hell. Used to just ride around exploring it.

mastershredder261d ago (Edited 261d ago )

Afterlife in Cyberpunk 2077 is a peaceful area? Erm, hands down and very hard to miss, Misty Olszewski's Esoterica is the absolute epitome of peaceful areas in that game.

raiden_188261d ago

The "last of us" deer location i found to be a welcoming respite. It was nice to not have someone trying to eat me.

RPGer261d ago

Kingdom Hearts tend to present half peaceful areas and most of them are amazing.

'Assassin’s Creed III': Ten Years Later

With the recent reveal of Assassin’s Creed Mirage and the promise that the series will return to its roots, there hasn’t been a better time to get stuck into Assassin’s Creed’s back catalog, whether it’s replaying an old favorite or getting lost in previously looked-over classic.

Ten years later, we miss the old you, Assassin's Creed.

Popsicle535d ago (Edited 535d ago )

I really enjoyed Assassins Creed 3. My only complaint was that I didn’t enjoy when I had to switch from Connor to Desmond. It’s a personal preference, but Connor’s story was just more fun for me.

On a side note, Black flag was the most enjoyable of the AC games I played.
