GameFly is currently selling Resistance: Burning Skies and Unit 13 for $14.99 on the Vita. Pretty good price for some shooting on the go. Will you give these two Vita games a look at this price?
Resistance: Burning Skies was pitched on October 19, 2009 as Resistance: Homefront, 2.5 years before it was released on the PS Vita.
Game was a wasted opportunity on the Vita. Really disappointing release that stank of a rough rush job.
Crazy to think this dev team also failed with COD. I think that unproven team bit off more than what they could chew. In a parallel universe they could’ve been the next big thing by this point if they had only tried to be creative with these major game licenses.
If bend studio wasn't busy working on uncharted vita, they would probably have been the best studio to work on that project.
Kevin Webb: "While one of Sony's main goals with the Vita was to produce experiences that felt like playing on a home console, the Vita produced a number of unique games that were later brought over to more powerful hardware. And as the Vita got older, independent developers began to take advantage of the console's strong hardware and dedicated player base. For example, PC games like "Stardew Valley" or "Minecraft" that had earned an indie following could be moved to the Vita at low cost, letting players take their favorite games on the go.
The PlayStation Vita may not have been a smash hit, but there were plenty of gems to be found on the handheld if you spent enough time looking."
Frobisher Says was one of the best games on the Vita. There was just nothing like it. It's such a shame that Sony didn't see fit to invest in the Vita long term.
Some excellent choices there. I spent so many hours on Soul Sacrifice and Persona 4
As much as I love the Uncharted series I couldn't come to terms with Golden Abyss. It felt like a few steps back in the series
Danganronpa, Stien Gate, and especially Persona 4 are some of the best titles that available on the Vita.
I will miss this console.
No Freedom Wars or Killzone Mercenary?
Both deserve remakes. Mercenary is cannon and Freedom Wars is just one of those ultra rare JRPG games I found fun and think could appeal to a wider audience.
VGChartz's Adam Cartwright: "As the Vita provides a brilliant portable legacy experience for Sony’s other two home consoles (PS1 and PS2), I decided to focus this article on the next in line – the PlayStation 3. Unlike its predecessors, the PS3 far outpaces Vita in terms of power, on top of being built on an extremely unique architecture which meant porting between the two wasn’t as straightforward as it could have been. Still, thanks to engine compatibility and some brilliant efforts from developers, the two consoles shared numerous pieces of software and, where this wasn’t possible, others sought to provide bespoke experiences instead. Altogether this means that the Vita does a pretty good job at providing a portable PS3 experience."
“Sony may have advertised Vita as ‘console quality on the go’, which irritated many buyers due to games with reduced framerates and graphical elements being released“
Why would some people complain about that then but praise the Switch now for doing the same thing?
“The PS3 might not be remembered as Sony’s finest hour in gaming”
I and many others see PS3 as Sony’s best console
I heard comment that the unused port on Vita was originally planned for Vita TV function.
But Sony decided to take it out and release a separated failed Vita TV...
Aww... Vita could have been the Switch, but Sony got greedy and worried Vita will capitalize on PS4 market...
Not really a big deal, but you might want to note that the games are used.
Gamefly titles always ship with a pristine box/manual/online code but the game disc/carts themselves may be refurbished or resurfaced.
I would wait for psvita plus instant game collection before buying either of those games, i have a feeling one of them will be part of the IGC.
They know call of duty is coming. Good or bad people will buy it just to see what it's all about.
unit 13 is brilliant
