I know. I was waiting for a rpg like this to appear on the vita. I know the artwork is going to look crisp and clear on the vita beautiful OLED screen.

That why Im kinda disappointed with Shin megami tensei 4 being exclusive on the 3ds. The artwork is just going to look a pixelated mess.

Persona 4 is coming to vita next month

The 3DS is cheap.. Its like ps1/ps2 with shader tricks, the sound always sounds compressed, the network sucks, the 3rd party games suck (minus re revelations), circle pad sucks, the UI is ancient, its features are ancient, etc.. I cant believe they charge $200 for the xl & ppl buy it.. Nothing but cartoony E rated games come to it too..

SMT4 shouldnt be exclusive on there but theres no telling if it will even be localized.. I dont think games like that sell much on nintendo systems

Baiting us with pictures of boobs eh.

I came here for the game :I Not the boobs, not at all.

So this looks like something in the lines of Wizardry being a first person dungeon crawler.

And since it is a Japanese game having scantily clad moe girls should be normal by now so we should not be so surprised by all this one would think.

The artwork looks really nice which should be vibrant on the Vita's screen.

"And since it is a Japanese game having scantily clad moe girls should be normal by now so we should not be so surprised by all this one would think. "

I have a dream that one day jrpgs will stop using generic moe girls and start making unique and interesting characters. The character element of some of these games has become downright lazy and almost seem copy/paste out of other games and animes. Not every game/show needs a tsundre, glasses girl, retarded klutz or loser main character and I'm not saying this game will, but I'm always more skeptical about these games as a result.

izumo_lee4193d ago

Well technically all these anime type games with these kind of characters are catered to the otaku gamers over in Japan which there are plenty of.

Sure here in the west it may feel 'lazy' in terms of game development but like i said these games are not made for western gamers in mind. Yes there are a lot of fans of these games over in the west but the risks for bringing these games over require publishers willing to take the chance.

Luckily there are some of these publishers like Atlus, NISA, & Xseed that are willing to devulge the resources to localize these games & for that we should be grateful for having the chance to play them.

We often criticize Japanese developers for trying to westernize their games. However when they do go back to what they are known for (bringing unique Japanese games) they get questioned for that.

A Look at All of the Turn-Based Role-Playing Games Available on Vita

VGChartz's Adam Cartwright: "If you ask the average gaming forum user, they’ll probably say that Vita was only a good place to play if you like indie games, visual novels, and of course Japanese RPGs. While I’d hope that readers of my articles have realised that the console offers so much more than this, it’s hard to deny that it built up an amazing ecosystem for role-playing games over the years, mostly spear-headed by the early release of Persona 4 Golden in 2012.

As a result of there being so many RPGs on Vita, I’ve had to split this article up. I’ll be looking at all the turn-based entries in the genre here and I’ll dedicate a separate piece to action-RPGs some time in the future. Please note – while I will be including first-person dungeon crawlers such as Demon Gaze, things like roguelikes (e.g. Shiren the Wanderer) and strategy games (e.g. Disgaea) will be given separate articles of their own further down the line."

10 PlayStation Vita Sales Success Stories

VGChartz's Adam Cartwright: "A recent piece of news doing the rounds revealed the PlayStation Vita’s top 10 selling games in the United States of America, and it makes for some grim reading. While Uncharted: Golden Abyss rightfully tops the list, it only managed to shift a little more than 400k copies in the States, which is low by the series’ standards and paints a dire picture overall given that it's above all other AAA titles on the list, including Assassin’s Creed III: Liberation, Call of Duty: Black Ops Declassified, and Ki llzone Mercenary (although it’s worth noting that this top 10 doesn’t include any bundled software, otherwise  Borderlands 2 would be at the top and Call of Duty at #2)."

I would think Uncharted Abyss and Killzone Mercenaries should be included in the list.

It's a lonely but fun place - Top 10 PlayStation Games Stranded on Vita Island

"When PlayStation Vita released in 2012, expectations were high as Sony's previous handheld (PSP) was quite successful even if it could never quite match with Nintendo's handheld juggernauts." - Tyler Hall from Video Chums

Soul Sacrifice seriously needs another entry.

I would have added Killzone Mercenaries to the list. Overall, good list.

It’s not stranded until 2019, if people really wanted to get some great experiences out the way then they’d buy it. But there are so many stubborn people that made their mind up that won’t happen.

You can go on eBay, OfferUp it any social market place and get one from 70-120 WITH memory card and the games are dirt cheap. But I bet people feel like buying their 5th 3DS for 200 plus because of its color is better then checking out great games.

I guess it’s not always about the games

execution172016d ago

I could just never find one after I got a stable income, could find games all over the place though

rainslacker2016d ago (Edited 2016d ago )

Quite a few of the games aren't dirt cheap. Guess it depends on what you like though. The Japanese anime games tend to hold their value quite well.

One can get digital games pretty cheap a lot of the time, and if they were smart, they'd have added all those vita games on PS+ over the years, and have quite an impressive backlog when they get their system.
