From the PlanetXbox360.com feature article:
"The new year is only a couple of months away. You have to stop and think, "Where did the year go?" While we enjoyed tons of great titles in 2012―we will see the release of even more great ones in 2013. Let's take a look at some of the most anticipated games of 2013 that we can't wait to get our hands on!"
Tomb Raider I, II, III Remastered is available now on PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. Lara Croft is back in a classic remaster of the original PlayStation 1 hit title. Is the remaster any good though?
We've gone on many adventures with Lara Croft. With another reboot in the making, Wealth of Geeks felt it was a good time to go down the nostalgia rabbit hole and remember the best of those tomb-raiding thrills.
For me, Legend should be alot higher (along with the other two ). Shadow, I enjoyed it, but has too much has fluff, as modern games tend to do. Playing the remastered series, and apart from the controls, is very good.
I really enjoyed the first 2 games, Legend and the first of the reboots and the rest I didn’t get into so I never finished.
Completely subjective list. I really liked Underworld, I preferred Lara's design. That said I loved the horror/uncharted feel of the reboot. I think all the TR games have strengths and weaknesses. None are objectively better in every way.
Like the film or television industry, the world of gaming has seen its fair share of reboots over the years. While some of these video game reboots have had
Tomb Raider no. 1? Really? Bioshock Infinite or Watchdogs maybe. Where is GTA V? Star Wars 1313? The Last of Us? Metal Gear Solid:Ground Zeroes? God of War:Ascension? Beyond:Two Souls? Splinter Cell:Blacklist? No, no. This list is all wrong.
Tomb Raider? ROFL I think the last one I bought was #2 in the 90's.
Walking dead? Umm why this zombie game? There's 10 other ones out there. Besides, walking dead is like small installments, and so really the game was released this year and you can play it, though it will continue into next year. That said it's a zombie game, and you have your pick from all the others including zombies in CoD BLOPS2. Personally I think the whole zombie thing is getting a bit overdone.
Left for Dead 2's multiplayer, Dead Island 1 and now 2 (and they're co-op), RE6, The Walking Dead's various episodes, again CoD BLOPS 2 (and previous entires), Zombi U, and probably more. The only thing with zombies I actually want is Plants Vs. Zombies 2.
Bioshock Infinite? Probably not, but it's a possibility. I've got in on PC preorder.
Watchdogs has a lot of buzz for it's graphics, we'll see about it's gameplay overall and we still don't know if it'll be out this year. If so, those graphics were PC graphics, so the 360/PS3 versions wouldn't look nearly as good, and at that point, is the game then worth buying on the system?
I agree with medman. GTA V, Star Wars 1313, God of War: Ascension, Beyond: Two Souls, Splinter Cell: Blacklist (oh hell yeah)
Hell Beyond: Two Souls, and Splinter Cell:Blacklist I already have on preorder.
(the other two like Ninja gaiden probably not what I like, but will no doubt sell big to lots of people who DO like those)
Other games not mentioned that will be big
SimCity
Aliens: Colonial Marines
Crysis 3
We also don't know what Nintendo Wii U first party titles will be coming out. (well I assume Bayonetta 2)
But maybe a mario galaxy type? metroid? zelda? other? There will be at least one that is, though what one, who knows. But the anticipation is big for one of Nintendo's big star franchises to come out in 2013.
Plus there are always games that come out of the blue, though I guess those can't be call 'anticipated'. So technically that's off the hook.
Seriously how Tomb Raider can even be on the list, let alone #1 is laughable.
