Medal of Honor: Warfighter Review | GameReactor Sweden

GameReactor Sweden: "Warfighter has a really rough and unfinished feel to it, and it doesn't help that it lacks anything original or something that's better than what the competitors offer. Medal of Honor: Warfighter is just very mediocre in the end - save your hard earned money for something better."

Medal of Honor: Warfighter is just very mediocre in the end - save your hard earned money for something better." Pretty much what I think about the game. You might as well save your money for a real shooter, Black Ops 2 or Halo 4.

christheredhead4198d ago

Yah, I mean, its honestly not a bad game by any stretch. The game is just sort of medicore. Its fun, but not engaging in the least bit.

I don't see the community lasting very long with all the impending releases.

Soldierone4198d ago

Saw my friends already putting Battlefield 3 back in.....

Bumpmapping4198d ago

Agree Black Ops 2 and Halo 4 will have thousands of players also plenty of content and support.MOH will be a ghost town in the upcoming months.Sad the Single player doesn't add any replay value to it nor will the Multiplayer.

SideShort4198d ago

Oh yeah, that's right. Even a monkey can write a review.

SilentNegotiator4198d ago (Edited 4198d ago )

So write one of your own. If this one offends you so.

SideShort4198d ago

This review doesn't offend me, granted it's hardly a review. If you would refer to Ju's comment, it pretty much sums up my complaint. This game isn't perfect my any means, but that score is unwarranted. People are trying to defend giving a game like RE6 an 8-9? are you serious? Now that game was a complete garbage(coming from a long time RE fan)and this guy gives MOH a 5? Not to mention he berates the game for doing exactly what it sets out to do. "I managed to die after a few seconds of game play." He probably went all CoD style, running around the open like 80% of all biased gamers do and got shot. I'm pretty sure real life operators not taking cover should have a very good chance of dying within a few seconds of receiving fire.

Ju4198d ago

Yes. I can see the "dying" problem. Like I said. We are dumed down with the flood of games we are getting. F..k. I was forced to prone in the campaign to move forward. Tell me which other game does that? Yes I die a lot and the reason is simply I am not used to that style of game play any more. Too much CoD style lately - with pretty much all games. And to my surprise this is totally not CoD at all. The realistic lightning makes it damn hard to actually make out where the bad guys are and the actually can aim while shooting back. Who would have thought? You need to approach this game with careful planing, otherwise you are dead in a second. I can agree that from a game play perspective it could "guide" the player more. But I credit this to the fact that most games these days hold your hands through out. It is just damn hard. Go figure. There is something new.

grayfoxx8814198d ago

I don't see the point in people getting upset at seeing this game receive low scores. Wasn't this bound to happen? It's pretty obvious that EA's heart wasn't in this one. This was released because of Black Ops 2, and not because EA wanted to make a great game. I guarantee if Call of Duty was on a two-year development cycle, we would have never seen this reboot. Where were the copies that should have been sent to reviewers? What worries me is that EA could abandon Medal of Honor and make Battlefield an annual series.

Holeran4198d ago

Ya know whats funny is I'm not really that into COD games I always pick them up used but after following Black Ops 2 for a bit I can honestly say I'm probably going to pick it up new.

grayfoxx8814198d ago

It's a day one purchase for me. Treyarch has been doing a good job in my opinion. I loved World at War, it's too bad the game got hacked and Activision didn't do anything about it. I really got into Black Ops and that has become my favorite Call of Duty. Looking forward to the Pick 10 for class customization.

Ju4198d ago

Who ever gives this game a 5/10 is a morron. Sorry the insult. But seriously. It is by far the best looking shooter so far, best looking PS3 game, Frostbite shows muscles. I'm impressed. Most realistic driving sequence (for a FPS game - almost feels like Burnout; like a "real" racing game). First game I saw where you have to compensate the distance while sniping. I got so dumed down over the years that I couldn't even believe they put that in. So, yeah, little be different, huh? But a 5? How about getting rewarded for putting some extra effort into a game. EA/Danger Close sure has.

Same as with previous games. Everybody is hyped for CoD and "must talk down" MoH. Because it just cannot be, right?

Give it a 7 if you don't like it. But we got a load of crap games which got away with 5. And this sure isn't one of those.

BattleAxe4198d ago (Edited 4198d ago )

Your post is a joke right?

Edit:

Oh well, Its a tough job, but I guess someone has to buy the crappy games. :D

Ju4198d ago (Edited 4198d ago )

Nope. Is my honest opinion. Sorry if it doesn't match yours. And I don't care what others say, I rather see myself. And I am playing it right now.

Holeran4197d ago

Does the PS3 version have the input lag that Battlefield 3 suffered from? The input lag killed it for me.

Ju4197d ago

Don't see any input lag. But it's not CoD style arcade gameplay anyway. You'll die in a second if you run and gun (it's like waking sleeping dogs in that game). But even then that was never a problem for me so far. Character models are one of the best I've seen so far. Some levels look exceptional, some a little empty. But all that with the full damage model of BF in a smaller level layout. Nothing stands ever still in this game. Buildings break, plants blow in the wind, water/rivers flow. Quite impressive, IMO.

9 Video Game Sequels So Bad They Killed The Series

Alongside death, taxes and terrible Adam Sandler movies, video game sequels are just another crushing inevitability of life. Sequels and franchises are the lifeblood of the industry, so you can bet any halfway successful game will be aiming towards at least five more follow-ups and spin-offs in pursuit of more delicious money.

Yet even major franchises tend to run themselves into the ground eventually, where they can either reboot themselves and come back stronger than ever (think the new Tomb Raider games) or stay buried in the past.

Old school would be Wolfenstein, Doom, Hexen, Duke Nukem, and Rise of the Triad.

More recently Half-Life 2, BioShock (original), Wolfenstein the new order, Timesplitters 2, Medal of Honour.

Some personal favourites Singularity, Resistance series, Killzone Series, Bulletstorm, Dishonored.

Kallisti2822d ago (Edited 2822d ago )

Duke Nukem was a side scroller on Dos

@robition Duke Nukem wasn't a FPS 'til the 3rd one, Duke Nukem 3D

robtion2822d ago

Sure. Talking about FPS's here though.

Great concept(Nectar) and fun but a bit of an iffy execution and didn't live up to its promise. I finished it at launch. Shame they didn't quite get it right.

5 Video Games That Ruined Their Franchises Badly

The video game industry is one based on the backs of its scholarly properties. Like movies and books, it’s a space that draws vigorously on strong sequels and innovative new thoughts. Notwithstanding, not all sequels surpass the enormity of their forerunners, and a chosen few of them check the start of the end for their →

Assassin's Creed series was ruined after Black Flag, Ubisoft made it annually game. I played Dead Space 1 and 2; were awesome but Dead Space 3 failed to make gosip. As MOH Warfighter was good game

NukaCola2877d ago

Black Flag was the redeemer after 3. ACIV is my favorite of the series. Unity was bad, Syndicate is actually pretty good. So they are up and down. As for Dead Space, I thought the original was like Uncharted series. The first one was a great story and a little rough, but #2 was incredible through and through. Uncharted 3 is awesome, unfortunately DS3 was indeed a terrible terrible game. Warfighter was a good game, but aren't we all burned out on shooters???

Stupid2877d ago

That's right Assassin's Creed series had awesome games till AC Black Flag, AC III was terrible

monkeyDzoro2877d ago

I disagree on AC Black Flag. Black Flag was a good PIRATE game but a very mediocre AC.

2877d ago
CoNn3r_B2877d ago

I preferred Revelations over Brotherhood. AC Brotherhood had such a boring story while AC Revelations tied everything up very well for Ezio and Altair, if I was going to pick a game where it all started going downhill for me it would be AC 3 but despite that AC 1,2, Brotherhood, Revelations, 4, Rogue and Syndicate are all good games.

RondoMachete2877d ago

Lost Planet as far as I remember went like dead space with the third game (round based type play) it just felt like it was just a map clearing game with multiple horde survival. Call Of duty went and died long ago. Ghosts didn't help its cause but now we have three development houses it's going from bad to worse. GTA to me anyway was saved with five to me the driving up until then was awful. Mario and sonics died along time ago to in my eyes.

Bobafret2877d ago

These titles get worse and worse.
