There are times when there is just way too many games to play. With the complete lack of time available to do anything in life, you won't ever get to play every game that you want. This is true for both old and new games that are released or have been around for a very long time. Even though most gamers out there will make the effort to go back and find copies of games they have missed out on before, many more just don't have the time or the will to search for older games they skipped over. Enter the HD Collection. A little something that many take for granted. It brings not only some great value in one package but also enhances the original experience for everyone who missed out and anyone who wants to jump back in for another go.
The Metal Gear Solid HD Collection launched in 2011, and is still the best way to play Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater ahead of the remake.
Can’t wait to one day break that game out of the collection vault
Currently playing Snake Eater HD on CRT 16:9, via Scart RGB. Game looks great but not as clean as MGS2, but thats due to the setting. Can't wait for the remake + the next HD collection on PS5.
Let's take it back to the old school.
They would never do that because they are known for a certain quality to their games which requires a lot of work. Sony would have to charge full price for the game and a lot of poor people will cry about the price.
I've played jak and Daxter recently and I can tell the games were amazing in there time. Sony would want a high quality release to attract old fans and new fans but I don't see that happening at all.
I doubt ND'll handle Jak & Daxter any time soon.
Instead Sony'll assign the Remake to some other studio(smaller), like team asobi or bluepoint (I know these studios are doing some other stuffs but I am just using them as examples) or even contact Sumo or Lucid.
I’d personally love to see Bluepoint Remake Jak and Daxter, knowing their pedigree and respect to handling past remakes.
I want Naughty Dog to finish up Factions (knowing that according to Neil it’ll have a story for it’s MP, but also in some ways be it’s biggest game and most ambitious, if I’m not mistaken, someone correct me if I’m wrong! Haha.) Also, along with just gearing the team (s) I’m not sure if they’re doing 2 teams at the studio again or just one big team (minus a smaller group that worked on Part 1 for PS5) but would like to see them more focused on their next NEW iP exclusively for PS5, be it savage Starlight or something else entirely.
Either way, I’m looking forward to have my mind 🤯 lol
Months after they were removed from sale, a number of Metal Gear Solid games have yet to return to the PlayStation and Xbox stores.
Konami's too busy with their Pachinko machines to worry over silly little things like this.
Ok, how are some of those HD collections? God Of War I can see and some of the others, but not all over them are HD. They came to PS3.
And I just see cheap cash-ins that cover for a lack of being able to develop titles. Anything beyond a FPS anyway.
Though I do like the idea of being able to play some of the Ratchet and Clank titles.
After the closure of Zipper it looks like an HD Collection may be the only hope of seeing a good SOCOM game again...
As a gamer for over almost thirty years it's sad that I'm more excited for HD remakes than most of the "new" titles coming out.
they are great if you dont have a 4 year old desktop pc or newer, if you do, and can follow very basic instructions, they are a blatant rip-off
pcsx2 plays 99% of ps2 games in 1080p at 60 frames with anti aliasing which these "hd" remakes never seem to have enough of and aren't full hd as they are usually 720p and only run at 30 frames
on pcsx2 you can play games like persona 3 and 4, kingdom hearts 1 and 2, fatal frame 1 and 2 and 3, ffx, ffx-2, ffxii, ect...ect...ect....

nearly any ps2 game, just pop the original disc in your pc's dvd drive, launch pcsx2, sonfigure your xbox 360 or ps3 controller however you want and play
with a few other emulators you can play nearly all wii games, gamecube, ps1, ds, psp, snes, nes, genisis, ect...
I know there are many people who don't want to fuss with it and i get that, but I'm telling you, if you put the time in, you can get the best possible "hd" remake on pc for free if you own the original disc.
here's a link to pcsx2 site, it rocks, it does take about 10 min to set up, just follow the included read me or I think there is also a tutorial on the website and definatly one on youtube.
