Gamingvogue: It’s 2012 and there have been so many memorable and good looking games released so far. One thing that still surprises us is the fact that 2013 will feature some stunning games that will no doubt push the bar very high. We have compiled a list of 5 such games, yeah, that’s right, not 10, 15 or 25, but don’t give us ideas, heh.

The Last of Us definitely :)

josephayal4201d ago

Is def the best looking game of this GEN

Sizzon4201d ago

Wouldn't go that far, but sure looking impressive and great.

Pretty good list... I'd add Bioshock Infinite too. From what I've see, it's looking pretty... well... pretty. And God of War looks really good visually too. Gears of War will look good also. It's one of the few games that really uses Unreal well.

I don't know why you're getting disagrees with The Last of Us. What we've seen is beautiful, and Naughty Dog has proven their capability of making beautiful games.

Crysis 3 on PC will crush all.

Crysis 3
Metro Last Light
Planetside 2
The Last of Us
Gears of War Judgement
Tomb Raider
Bioshock Infinite
Castlevania LOS2

...those are the games that come to mind, but I'm sure I am forgetting some.

thorstein4201d ago

I would add Ni No Kuni. That game looks incredible. I know it isn't photo-realism. But we are talking "looks" here and I would follow it with the new Sim City... don't know why it just looks fantastic.

Dovas im a ps3 fan boy and you made me want to sell my ps3 congratulations

Not even close, I think it's ugly. A lot of games look better, what is so impressive about TLoU visually? Good animations, good water effects, highly detailed main characters.... That's it.

For the bad points it has terrible jaggies, all the bad guys are poorly detailed in comparison to the main characters, the lighting is flat, the foliage looks terrible and the game is riddled with low resolution textures. It's above average but nothing special at all, I think a lot of people are going to be disappointed when the game releases.

Beastforlifenoob4200d ago

@thorstein hahah Ni No Kuni. looks like a kids game

thorstein4199d ago

@ Beast It's Studio Ghibli. Which is like classic Disney. And just because it is a cartoon, doesn't mean it can't look amazing.

Get you're Juno out of my games!
Get you're games out of my Juno!

Seriously thought can't wait for the last of us and beyond and MGS:GZ.

Crysis 3 on PC will be the best looking game to date full stop. Just look at the latest tech demos and you'll see why. Though Unreal Engine 4 is coming soon and I'm looking forward to working with it. I know from experience creating game engines, it aint easy and UDK is the best out there from a developer point of view.

Guwapo774200d ago

While Last of Us is amazing, I think Beyond will slightly edge it out graphically. My personal feeling Last of Us will be more enjoyable to actually play.

GamerElite4201d ago

what is Metro: Last Light. never heard of that game

AKS4201d ago

Metro games do a great job of making places I'd never want to be look good.

Zefros4200d ago

is it fair to compare a pc version of a game to a console game? YEs metro looks great, but that is pc version. MGS: GZ looks better ( pc version).

Crysis 3, there is no competition. 1080p + makes such a huge difference.

Ok I guess you people believe TLOU will look as good as Crysis 3 on my PC :S

Kingnichendrix4200d ago

I think this is about console games :)

OmniSlashPT4200d ago

It will certainly look more beautiful and impressive than the generic art direction from Crysis

Ranking the Devil May Cry Series

VGChartz's Mark Nielsen: "Upon finally finishing Devil May Cry 5 recently - after it spent several years on my “I’ll play that soon” list - I considered giving it a fittingly-named Late Look article. However, considering that this was indeed the final piece I was missing in the DMC puzzle, I decided to instead take this opportunity to take a look back at the entirety of this genre-defining series and rank the entries. What also made this a particularly tempting notion was that while most high-profile series have developed fairly evenly over time, with a few bumps on the road, the history of Devil May Cry has, at least in my eyes, been an absolute roller coaster, with everything from total disasters to action game gold."

First to last for me...3,4,5,1,2.

VersusDMC1h ago

Me leaving it out should be telling of my thoughts on it. Better than 2 as a DMC game.

Still a good game though.

Friendlygamer2h ago

3,1,4,5 to me, never played 2. 5 gameplay is amazing but level design was really disappointing to me, just a bunch of plain arenas, the story felt like a worse written rehash of the 3rd and the charater models looked weird ( specially the ladies ). Another problem with 5 was that there was not enough content for 3 charaters so I could never really familiarize with any of them

monkey6021h ago(Edited 1h ago)

2.
Dmc.
4.
5.
1.
3.

God DMC2 was an awful game.
And in case this isn't obvious it goes worst to best

Yui_Suzumiya1m ago

1 and DmC. The rest are unimportant.
