Well, I suppose that would make this one the 'incomplete' version. It looks like this is the beginning of their efforts to sabatoge their own success. Now they can bitch about it not selling as well on WiiU.

Well Nintendo, this has to be the next nail in the coffin on your third party curse. Let's hope online play is decent.

It says "will not launch". It didn't say it'd never come. The Wii U'll probably get it as a free DLC pack within a few months of launch, seeing as it should've been included on-disk.

To me, Activision just seems to be everywhere right now. The Wii U port was essentially the last one developed, and it seems as though timing has just b*tch-slapped Activision all over. First, a muddled statement for native 1080p (or lack thereof), now this.

ELITE isn't a DLC nor on any discs. ELITE is a standalone app that gets downloaded through either XBL or PSN. It isn't a game and doesn't entitle you to anything really outside of another way to track your stats/progress through multiple CoD titles.

Not to mention ELITE is already free to use if you so choose. Buying into the "Premium" for MW3 entitled users to get all the DLC for the MW3 season plus little perks like longer video clip uploads and more of them.

Thus probably why the WiiU is getting a later launch if one at all. There's really no point there. Many of the aspects of ELITE will not apply to the WiiU such as clan transference through titles nor stats from other CoD titles as that was not there for the Wii. I'd even go farther and say it probably has to do with the lack of details on the actual network infrastructure and general network workings of the WiiU.

So... Maybe Nintendo's actually to blame? I'd have to imagine developers need to know the full scope of the system before just jumping in.

Exactly, Elite has no bearing on the game itself. I would say overall it would be good to have. It probably will be added. If not in a few months, then probably by next year's CoD game.

But really Elite is a bit overblown, I logged into it like once. I'd rather spend time playing the game then looking at stats.

On a scale of 1 to 10, 10 sucking most that's its not on here....this ranks a 1.

Sigh. If you've been following the news lately, you'd know that Elite was supposed to come free with Black Ops II on Wii U, i.e. included on-disk. Yet they haven't delivered on that promise.

And nobody knows whether or not developers really have no idea whatsoever on Nintendo's online system, and seeing as it's only a month away from release, I'd say it's unlikely. We, as consumers, do not know the same things as developers do, and even if developers did know anything, they'd be prohibited from talking about it.

So, as of now, speculation comes to mind.

Seriously guys, the Elite service will come eventually, but I didn't even use the free version on my 360 for MW3, so I don't really care. The DLC will come, Activision just doesn't know how the eShop is working, but they will work it all out with Nintendo.

The first set of DLC won't come out for at least a couple of months, plus the 360 has a 1 month exclusivity for the DLC don't they? So there is tons of time.

Well considering the 360/ps3 version are showing its age, I'm excited to buy it on a better console.

There won't be much communication on the Wii U version via headsets, but other than that it should easily be the best console version, which many feel is the best because of PC hacks/aim bots.

The only question mark is what the online experience of the Wii U's network will be. If it lags, sucks, or experiences other hiccups, then scratch everything I said. Besides, at least for me, my aging and breaking down 360 that's already been shipped back to MS twice for the disc scratching and RROD, and also had the HD break is now having dvd drive problems. Some games are unplayable nearly because it freezes after 10 minutes, others can be played. CoD usually does pretty good and crashes usually after a couple of hours, but who knows, maybe with the upgraded graphics it stresses the drive and starts crashing all the time too. Either way I'm trying to phase out my 360 as much as possible and buy games on platforms that are far more stable, like PC and soon Wii U. In fact the only 360 game I'm buying this xmas is Halo 4...and I'm buying about 15 games. Mostly PC, then Wii U, two ps3 games, and Halo 4.

Who cares Elite is garbage. Sony fans will take this opportunity to bash the system even though black ops 2 on ps3 will run at 40 frames a second on average with frames dropping below 30 at times all in sub hd just like black ops did. Awesome times!

Just pointing out the obvious in saying that BO2 for WiiU is also confirmed not to be running at Native 1080p anyway and frankly, nobody knows the framerate either.

You really believe the WiiU version is going to do any better than the other versions? Before answering, consider that CoD titles are coded primarily on the 360. Upscaling on the WiiU side is going to happen.

You're forgetting that the 360 is very much like PC. Thus it's more like 360 games are ports of PC games which are made with the 360 in mind and then ported back to the PC.

That's why you have games that look decently better on the PC, because it's natively pretty close to a PC style. It's just they put their resources in and around the 360 version, and use the upper bounds of the engine on the PC version.

The 360 version of CoD runs at 1024x600. Even a 720p then upscale to 1080 would be an improvement.

Plus that's not everything as there's more to graphics then resolution. You're forgetting possible DX11 effects on PC games (see Max Payne 3 PC versus 360 version) and even the Wii U will be able to do at least the best of 10.1 yet also have shader model 4. (and that's at least...as it might be able to do SOME DX11 type features...it's still unknown).

But even beyond that, and this is the part the effects the Wii U version, is the possibility for much better textures.

So think of it this way
360 version
1024x600 upscaled to 1080
Low textures
Fewer 'effects'
60 fps or close to it.

or
Wii U version
(most likely) 1280x720 upscaled to 1080
high textures (not medium and not ultra)
More 'effects'
rock solid 60 fps
plus the features of the controller (for seeing map, kill streak selections, and 2nd screen for some people...maybe more.)

The PS3 version basically the same handicaps as the 360 yet either better or worse resolution, and problems with frames getting into the 30-40's.

So basically with the Wii U you'll get close to PC level graphics, yet be playing a console version.

Though again we still don't know how good the Nintendo multiplayer network will be which could negate all the benefits, at least initially. But since I'm holding my Wii U until Xmas, they'll have some time to kink out the bugs, if any, that appear at launch.
