Borderlands 2 DLC: Is It Worth It?

NowGamer- There’s something satisfying about shooting someone from around the corner with the new bullet ricochet ability, which we’re sure Borderlands 2 has nicked from successive Call of Duty games.

Why? Well, you tell me why we keep dying then? Exactly. Pipe down.

Just like a big oily dollop of limited edition chilli and lime mayonnaise, this, and a bag of other new abilities, oddballs and black humour makes the Mechromancer DLC a pleasant, if not repetitive accompaniment to the main course.

not to be TOO critical..but aren't ALL games repetitive?..

Call of duty...shoot...run...cover...s hoot..

Gears of War..shoot...cover...Carmine dies...shoot..cover..Carmine dies...shoot...shoot..Carmine dies

Street fighter...punch..kick..firebal l..fireball..fireball...fire... ball...jump..

ima still be getting this DLC just for it's precious precious loot and add on's...and 10 hours for only 10 bucks?...the story/characters/jokes are worth that easily..

agreed. i never understood that critism about any game. everygame has 3-5 features/mechanics and they are repeated over and over for hours. in some games you notice it more than others but i dont think borderlands is one of them. the jokes, characters, stories, and most importantly different loots and abilities keep it from feeling that way.

but w/e everybody had their own opinions. this is def worth it in mine

Borderlands 1 had good DLC... I don't see a real reason to doubt the content coming up for Borderlands 2.

The DLC that shall not be named. I seriously doubt they'll be making anything as horrible as that. From what I've played so far in the Captain Scarlett DLC, it's good.

Nevermind what I said. This DLC isn't very good. It starts off pretty good, but then jumps right off a cliff at the end. Pretty annoyed with Gearbox at the moment.

Sold!! Gearbox is one of the few developers that understand what DLC is supposed to be so I have no problem buying & supporting them & this DLC.

Of course it'll be worth it, since it'll be free when I buy it as part of B2: GotY edition next year.

Good thing I pretty much paid 60$ for DLC+Game (~36$ game, 22.50$ for DLC, so I get each epic-sized DLC for about $5.625 :] )...a bit less than a normal retail...and It's totally worth the time that I've put into it (Steam says 105 hours but it's probably less than that since it counts menus and even the startup launcher)

More power to you though :) Not saying you shouldn't wait as you are, but you can find decent enough discounts (if you go the PC route) through Green Man Gaming, other than that...Hope you enjoy the game just as much.

No worries man, I'm not going through too much hardship waiting. That's just the way I buy games these days. I have a huge backlog of great games I'm still working through, I'm an adult gamer so I have more money than time (or reflexes ;) ). LOL.

For games where I'm mostly going to go single player, I usually wait for a discount, I could list at least ten AAA games I have to hold me over before I get around to picking B2 GotY up, including B1 GotY :)

I understand that, I have Witcher 2 I bought during the Steam sale way back when and yet I have to beat the first one I bought ages ago and the 2 Ys games as well hahaha.

I just couldn't take not having it because the last time I waited too long for the first Borderlands, and I figured if I didn't have to pay so much it'd be worth it :) and I pretty much have the same method for single player games, but reiterating what I said here :P

As I see it Halo 4 I'll play for Single-player, Black Ops 2 if at all I'll buy after it comes out (don't care for Nuketown map haha) and Assassins Creed 3 (if I ever do get it) will be for single player too, and I've kind of grown tired of them. I've already put 2-3 days plus into Borderlands 2 so I'm happy :)

Can't forget about Steam Sale near the end of the year as well, so that's another reason for some (not that I wouldn't buy a game full price, it's just that money is my friend right now and I'd rather pay for my prescriptions which are close to a game and a half in cost, and try to enjoy my hobby in the same way...

Is the mechromancer DLC just the new character?
Cause it is quite expensive if that were the case.

I believe (it says on Green Man Gaming when you look into details on Gaige) that it SAYS it comes with the pre-order bonuses from the Premiere Club.

"This download grants the Mechromancer, a 5th playable character class who can summon a destructive robot named Deathtrap. In addition to this new class, this pack also includes bonus items which were included in the Borderlands 2 Premiere Club Pack, including the Gearbox Gold Gun Pack, a Golden Key, which unlocks rare items in the mysterious Sanctuary Loot Chest, and the Vault Hunter’s Relic, which boosts your gear-hunting fortunes. If you have pre-ordered the game and received the Premiere Club content, you do not need to purchase this content."

I don't know if it holds true for all platforms or what though.

What this, dlc for a game that was released about a month ago. I am sure this dlc could not have been worked on during the development of the base game. Borderlands 2 is great so why not buy it. Of course, the Bioware dlc must be content cut out of the game proper despite it being released months after the base game is done. People, gotta love them.
