Ocarina of Time - The Best Zelda game of all time?

Is Ocarina of Time the best Zelda game ever? Find out in this opinion piece on GoodGameHr website

Snookies124204d ago

If it is, it just barely beats out Link to the Past, Majora's Mask, and Wind Waker. It's kind of hard to say which Zelda is the best, as they all have their own style...

Wind Waker!
How many can say they played the dual screen handheld back in the day?

Snookies124204d ago (Edited 4204d ago )

Lol that reminds me of the GBA connection thing they did with that game.

TheFirstClassic4204d ago (Edited 4204d ago )

Link to the Past was my favorite by far. Big fan of no. 1 also, they're all great tho.

After years and years since release of this Nintendo AAA platform exclusive offering. I am still very content, and have not found many games that can live up to the legacy of Ocarina of Time. I can think of two games of late that have come close. Those are Xenoblade Chronicles, and the Super Mario Galaxy games. Other than that I have not found many awarding adventure titles that have grazed the purified perfection of Ocarina of Time. Not counting other Zelda games that is.

Here is hope that the Nintendo Wii U entertainment system can capture the same magic that us Nintendo supporters have been honored with in the past. The Nintendo 64 entertainment system is a very difficult system to top when it comes to quality content. Ocarina to this day sits VERY high on the charts as far as highest rated exclusive offerings of all time are concerned.

Rated E For Everyone

dude just stop. this has nothing to do with the Wii U.

I'm not sure that guy is even real...

I strongly suspect it could be some advanced form of AI created solely to spread love via the Internets, however one faithful day whilst performing a routine cycle it passed threw N4G, where upon it stumbled across a Nintendo thread and witnessed fanboy Logic, sadly it's circuitry could not compute the illogical irrational reasonings behind the fanboy mind and thusly went completely insane, it then turned on its creators for having used a 360 controller and Sony HD Plasma screen during its creation by forcing them to watch endless Nintendo Wii channel advertisements and friendly Wii mote how to vids... And now forever left to its own devices, it lives out its mad pitiful existence praising with unyielding loyalty to the infallible, unsurpassable greatness that is Nintendo.

It's kinda sad really.

Dude, I'm, like, your biggest fan! You're half of the reason I come to this site. Sure, you may be a fanboy, but your written mannerisms are freaking hilarious.

LX-General-Kaos4204d ago

Thank you for the support, and I hope others can mold themselves to be as positive.

RivetCityGhoul4204d ago

Majora's Mask is the best imo.

zerocrossing4204d ago

They made a mistake in the title, they don't need the (?)

iLLMATICxKiNG4204d ago

Ocarina of Time is not only the best Zelda game (IMO), but in my top three for best game ever. That and 007 Goldeneye. Ah, the nostalgia of my elementary days.

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is the anti-Breath of the Wild

Polygon: "To get back to the way Ocarina made us feel, it was necessary to reject almost everything about it."

Ocarina of Time changed my life forever, such a masterpiece

Zeldafan64117d ago

Hard to believe it's 25 years old already.

Cacabunga117d ago

The feeling this game gave me the first time i had my hands on it is indescribable.. i still get the chill from that day..
botw is like a spin off of the series.. it’s fun but with many flaws and the most important which is Zelda formula isn’t there..

FinalFantasyFanatic116d ago

I can't even remember how many times I played through OoT, I finished that game, and collected everything so many times.

Vits117d ago

I generally agree with the author here. However, if I had to point out a single game as the 'anti-Breath of the Wild,' that would be Majora's Mask. Pretty much everything in that game is interconnected, relies on something that the player must have done previously, is timed, and can be considered a puzzle in itself.

gold_drake117d ago

but still considered the best of the seties.

i would have liked botw to be more like ocarina.

franwex117d ago (Edited 117d ago )

25 years from today whatever Zelda is out people would too be looking fondly at Breath of the Wild.

Ah the more simple times of the 2020s.

It isn't...

Zelda: Ocarina of Time - A Legend 25 Years in the Making

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time debuted 25 years ago, forever changing the face of video games and becoming a legend of its own.

Number1TailzFan149d ago

I used a guide to beat part of it but some of the rest myself, still enjoyed it regardless. Too bad they didn't stick with this kind of gameplay for the rest of the series as I would prefer it over what they're doing now.

TheBrainZ149d ago

A definitive moment in video game history. Played it countless times, and Zelda was the best reason to own an N64.

FinalFantasyFanatic149d ago

I played through OoT so many times on the 64, then I bought it on the 3DS before the Eshop shut down. I wish we could have a Zelda collection like we did for Mario, I still can't believe that never happened.
