Battlefield 3 GFX Mod Showcases Amazing Visuals

Actually, it can come close to it (provided developers can go past the brown-ish colors). It's all about lighting and using the right values for contrast/saturation/hue/sunlig ht. Recently I've seen a Skyrim shot with the lowest settings (but with custom ENBSeries mod). It looked great, even on those lowest settings

Actually the brownish colors and the blue tint are to hide the lack of detail on consoles, if you remove it it will look like shit

No it can't, he was running the game at 1920x1080 at <60fps. Battlefield 3 runs at a native resolution of 1280 x 704p on the consoles, that's isn't even high definition.

@nepdyse if you wanna be technical about it.. high definition before all this "720 1080p mumbo jumbo stuff this gen" was considered to start after 576 scanlines. although there was a difference in resolution between ntsc(480 visible scanlines out of 525)/(576 scanlines out of 625)for pal/secam to keep things standardized it was determined to have 576 be the border between standard and hd.

this information has kinda been forgot about during this whole hd movement with tvs and games consoles and everything that made 720 and 1080 the default res.

Killzone3 looks better then that mod,lol, also has the best snow fx.

Skyrim is nice in area's.

I don't mean to burst your bubble but technically speaking this is not a graphics mod at all, it's rather a color adjustment modification. As you probably already know, you can mess with color palette with injector tools, and you can force FXAA/SMAA to your games as well using those small, useful tools.

I remember reading injectors actually do work with console games as well. It's not a PC spesific, hardware consuming visual alteration, there's almost zero performance change, but obviously not worth the hassle for consoles in my opinion, due to obvious legal issues and the necessity of editing protected game files. You wouldn't want to do that, but if we're talking about technical probabilities, yeah... consoles can run that so-called modification, too. So don't try to make it look like it's something that only the mighty powerful PCs can pull off.

Shadows have too much blue, big downer for me.

Midtones are ways off too. Kinda too crunchy overall

Also whats with the weird pan stretch throughout the vid. Will try to watch it again when im drunk.

FOV is set to 90, hence the screen stretch. You can alter the settings because it isn't a mod. It's careful tweaking done to the color palette to make it look different.

Man, watching these videos really show the age of current gen consoles. Even playing Borderlands 2 on PC has so much more oomph than on my Xbox. I seriously can't wait for the next gen, I hope the launch titles look like this, will be sooooooo good.

my GTX 660Ti can max bf3 at 1080p with 45 - 60fps. Hope that helps.

Amazing what coloring does to a game. One of the reasons why Crysis 1 is still one of the best looking games around is because of its amazing colors.

all I want to do is remove the blue filter... without being banned. All DICE has to do is push and update and have a toggle switch in the video options on PC
