That is really incredible looking at all those sealed boxes and cases. I was in awe just looking at the pictures.

PS3Freak4202d ago

If I were filthy rich; I would totally buy this for only one reason:

To distribute all of these brand new controllers to needy households everywhere. I can't remember the last time I encountered an n64 controller that doesn't have a wobbly joystick.

knowyourstuff4201d ago

And guess what ladies.... he's single!

BattleAxe4201d ago

He'll never get anywhere near $65,000 for that stuff, or at least not all in one shot. If this guy actually wants to get the maximum amount of money out of all of this, he's going to have to try to sell everything individually over a 3 or 4 year period.

BakedGoods4202d ago (Edited 4202d ago )

What honest collector would have all this stuff? Did he go around buying an N64 every week? And if so--wtf? Collectors *collect* rare and valuable items, not horde commonly-found stuff.

I can't help but think either most of this lot was purchased from liquidated inventory or they're stolen goods from a big retailer (a lot of them are labelled 'Toys R Us').

morkendo234201d ago

no store that actually sells retro consoles is going to stock that many N64 consoles, and certainly not that many controllers.

TheLiztress4202d ago

Holy smokes, Batman. I wish I had the money for this collection.

strangelove4202d ago

I have a nice lockpick set and no sense of shame, now we just need a moving van.

MHenderson4202d ago

That is EXACTLY my problem in life!

3GenGames4202d ago

The story on that auction is fake, both accounts are still active and the supposed dead son actually recently was on NintendoAGE making n64-related purchases.

Parapraxis4202d ago (Edited 4202d ago )

Yeah a bit sketchy.
The seller who claims to be a parent, and also claims to be ignorant of Nintendo stuff, bought stuff as recently as Oct 3rd.
Why would somebody who is trying to sell this giant lot be adding to it?
http://myworld.ebay.com/squ...

on Sept 15th the seller bought SEALED STAR WARS NINTENDO 64 SYSTEM Price:US $1,350.00

Sept 30th Rare New Legend of Zelda Collector's Lot - Price: $390.00

Oct 3rd Nintendo 64 N64 Ice Teal Blue Controller NOS New Sealed - Price: US $142.50

They key to knowing the story is BS is here in the comments section at the bottom of the sale page:

"A: The dog died 3 years ago. ebay doesn't let just anybody sell $65k items. >>>> I've been a member since 2002.<<<< You are protected by ebay with any purchase. "

So the person selling the stuff claims to be the account owner, who is buying rare Nintendo products..YET also claims to be a parent who has a son who collected this lot, and they are selling it "Don't take advantage of my difficult times and my ignorance on Nintendo items."
BULLS**T!

3GenGames4202d ago

Plus how does somebody who doesn't even know what Nintendo is know what VGA is? (VGA=Videogame Authority, the grading service for sealed/rare items.) But yeah, it's a load of crap. Still a nice collection, but it sucks the seller is a sleaze.

YoungPlex4202d ago

Wow, your right! Why would they make up this story? I know why but, that's just low... Anyway, great job pointing that out!

Dasteru4201d ago (Edited 4201d ago )

@Para & 3Gen:

All of that was clearly explained in the Ebay post if you had bothered to read it.

The recent purchases were made by her husband and a friend of her son who also enjoyed collecting those things.

As for the VGA grading, The seller also clearly states fairly early in the post that she had gone to a local video game collector shop to get information on the stuff and that they explained the VGA to her.

Learn to read before making your selfs look like ignorant a'holes.

@YoungPlex, No not good job. the guy is clearly a degenerate a'hole that doesn't know how to read and goes around searching for ways to insult random people for his own ammusement.

I've actually beaten The New Adventures of Superman. And yes it truly is a heinous piece of crap. I'd give it a score of negative 10,000.

If only they gave you checkpoints for the indoor levels it could have been a negative 10 score. But that one missing feature completely ruined any chance of it being considered 'playable' and turned it into 'torture'.

NotoriousWhiz79d ago (Edited 79d ago )

Clay Fighter 63 1/3rd was legitimately a good game. Mortal Kombat Mythologies as well. Those two games don't belong on the list. Superman obviously gets top spot. WCW Nitro, Power rangers, and War gods were also pretty bad. Not familiar with the rest of the games on the list.
