SCE Patents ‘Tongue Control’, Play PlayStation With Your Mouth

As much as we all love the DualShock and other gaming controllers, they do have their limitations, something motion controls have tried (and failed) to take advantage of. But Sony has another solution – use your tongue. - PSLS

Perhaps this is a method that could help disabled people play games? For example paraplegics.

Is that Hugh Laurie from House? Man I love that guy! Brilliant actor!! I miss House MD. Totally off topic I know but I really miss the show!

You should give Breaking Bad a try.

Sony's going for some interesting technology patents today

PS3 Move Controllers that get hot and cold, and playing games with your mouth

ElasticLove4211d ago (Edited 4211d ago )

Enough with these gimmicky products, just keep giving the fans quality titles to play and everything should be fine.

This is more meant for a "see through" visual display future in general.

For instance, if you want to learn how to make Sushi you can put on some glasses fitted with see through OLED lenses (or something similar), the software could not only tell/show you the ingredients you would need (on the display) to make sushi but using AR the software and tongue UI, this app could visually cue you into the safest procedure to cut the fish, carefully prepare the rice, etc. all while you are not multi-tasking with your hands. Your tongue could be translated as a controller user interface to go from step a to step b in this "virtual cook book" and so forth and so on.

I honestly see this coming to homes sometime no later than 2016. Especially considering all the displays people are buying like smartphones, tablets, etc. Even headwear like the Sony VR display and Oculus are kind of kicking up in popularity.

What product??

They're simply filing for their quadrillionth patent just like Microsoft and Nintendo.

If they're thinking of anything, it's probably something geared towards the disabled.

Whine when they RELEASE it as the main ps4 controller, not when it's thrown together for the patent office by a small engineer team.

MasterCornholio4211d ago

Sounds like something that would work for a Hentai game........

El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron - Coming Back for a New Generation

Originally launched in 2011, El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron is coming to Nintendo Switch, so It's time to look back at the original.

Still have my ps3 copies. Bought it at launch and another one when I found it cheap and in perfect condition about 10 years ago. I wouldn’t buy it on Switch but if they made a PS5 version I would. I still have one of my PS3 Fats hooked up so good to go either way.

Id play it again on the switch. I wished my 360 version was bc but this is still a good way to play.

Fallout 3's Reveal Led To Death Threats And Bethesda's First Security Guard

The artist behind Fallout 4’s Deathclaw reveals just how bad things got back when Bethesda took over the series

anast14h ago

People are stupid I get it. No one should feel unsafe,

But I think they need to talk about why they cut so many corners during the development process and why none of their games ever look current. And why they think all of this is okay while they charge full price.

LucasRuinedChildhood13h ago

As much as Bethesda deserve criticism, that's not really relevant to the reveal of Fallout 3 in 2007.

VenomUK11h ago

The default angle Kotaku always go for is to highlight the worst in gaming.

I would’ve focused on the creative.

there is no "but". the hell lol
you dont send death threats, period.
