GotGame: Preview | Call of Duty: Black Ops II for the Wii U is Legit

GotGame: Well all that is about to change with next month’s release of Call of Duty: Black Ops II. Yes the game is coming out for the previously mentioned consoles, but it too is coming to the Nintendo Wii U. After having played the game at a demo session earlier this week, I can safely say that what Activision has in store for Nintendo fans, is most definitely a legit COD experience.

Guess Wii U is going to be the best for at least a year and a Half. Till Nextbox and PS4 come out. That should give Nintendo some time to kick butt!

shutUpAndTakeMyMoney4213d ago (Edited 4213d ago )

Unless the casuals buy again then ps4/720 will own. Nintendo never & I mean NEVER is the best at core gaming. When was the last time they sucessfully did on a console? N64?

WiiU version is not even dx11 like the pc version.

FLOWCity4213d ago

Well considering DX11 is a Microsoft API, no duh.

deafdani4213d ago

The Gamecube was a monster of a console, actually. And Nintendo has offered plenty of core gaming experiences with the Wii this generation, but the problem is that the Wii had pretty lackluster third party support.

1upgamer994212d ago (Edited 4212d ago )

GameCube was Amazing! Are you kidding me? I wont buy Xbox, because in due time the 1st party games come out on PC and I Update my PC all of the time, as to keep it as fast as possible. If you have read the reports PS4 could be at least 16 months away... Hence me saying For the next year and a half Nintendo is going to be amazing. Have you read the reports about Games Like Zombi U, and also aside from this article from Activision about BOPS 2 having a "a clear advantage" over other systems on Wii U. ....Nintendo also purchased rights to Bayonetta, as well as Fatal Frame... http://www.computerandvideo...
So Nintendo now has games that no other system will...They are not going to port Fatal Frame to Xbox when they Co-own it. Bayonetta, same thing. Those are just two....BOPS2 is going to be better on Wii U http://www.gamingexaminer.c...
I will more than likely get a PS4 But for now the versions I will buy for games will be Wii U.

metroid324212d ago

Then the wiiu will be the best again as all three will get same graphics ?

MNGamer-N4213d ago

thirty...seven...more....days. ... can't wait!

xflo3604212d ago

For you maybe, i have to wait 49 days :'(
I may well get blops 2 on wii u now, it looks aces!

1upgamer994212d ago

You know the ones who Disagree are just jealous, because they talked so much smack about the Wii U, they are too ashamed to buy it. These people who disagree read all the great stuff about Nintendo and how developers like Activision are saying its great...There are sooo many articles from very RELEVANT people working on the system its too bad these people are going to wait for Nextbox and PS4 and miss out on some BAD A&& games!

Trago13374213d ago

i hope other games use the gamepad as a second screen for multiplayer idea. even though i'm not interested in this game, it's nice to see that they're at least trying.

stragomccloud4213d ago

Call of Duty has been, and always will be a guilty pleasure.

sandman2244213d ago

Is it really going to run in full 1080p. I read an early article saying its 1080p. If so I'm all over the wii U version.

CryingFreeman874213d ago

It totally is. Should be the definitive version!
Anyway, im interested to see how the killstreaks work with the gamepad in single player online/campaign. I want to control the Predator (or similar) on GP screen as though it were the Laptop/Arm screen (in game), that would be sweeeet.

linkratos4212d ago

I would not bet on it. To marketers and stuff HD, full HD, high def, those all mean the same thing. Just happened with NSMBU, Nintendo's website said 1080p but then they took it down after realizing the mistake.

Ramon3MR4212d ago (Edited 4212d ago )

Just emailed Activision to confirm...

sandman2244212d ago

Cool hit me up when they notify you. I really want to know.

Xbox $70 billion bet paid out

fr0sty253d ago

Guess that's what happens when there's no good new games to play...

4Sh0w253d ago (Edited 253d ago )

Well regardless of exclusives, or whatever else there is to play on Xbox or ps, CoD has has still been the top selling game on ps platform since forever also.....so no surprise that the most popular game franchise on any console could easily have a revival due to servers coming back online...this is just credit to xbox backwards compatibility & thats good thing for Xbox gamers.

wiz7191253d ago

@Frosty orrrr maybe it’s a breath of fresh air to be able to go back to the peak of the series .. and it’s beem great lol

mkis007253d ago

It's going to take 10 years for xbox to generate that much profit...

Rhythmattic253d ago

Why worry when they have OS, Server and Background Data in their hands...
Gaming is just the small piece, at the top left in a few K piece jigsaw.

EasilyTheBest253d ago

If you buy a house with cash for 1 million dollars you still own the house. Microsoft don't need to make the money back.

Rhythmattic251d ago

But its not money back, its about how it goes missing.

jznrpg253d ago

Shooters is what Xbox people play most of the time and that’s about it by the numbers and sales of games.

shinoff2183254d ago

Atkeast older gamers nostalgia is good. Jeez.

Jin_Sakai254d ago

Mostly because the new CoD games are garbage. The old games were much better.

Rutaprkl253d ago

Agree 100%. Cod 4, WaW, Black ops 1 & 2, those were the days.

Rhythmattic253d ago

For MP, Unreal tournament , QIII Arena (loved the UT mod) FTW!

RaidenBlack253d ago

Unreal Tournament and Quake III were simply amazing ... CoD's and CoD-likes' rise killed the arena shooter popularity ...
Unreal Tournament 2004 is my favorite in the series.
Didn't enjoy Unreal Tournament III, Quake Champions that much.
Too bad Epic cancelled Unreal Tournament 2014 becoz of Fortnite

Rhythmattic252d ago (Edited 252d ago )

I got hooked on the QIII Urban Terror mod (and my work colleagues I introduced them to)... LAN Sessions at the closing of the doors at work, into the night , sinking beers and eating pizza..... Good times.

thesoftware730253d ago

Wow, good games never get old I guess.

CoD will always be a beast of a franchise, and how awesome is it that you can just boot it up or pop it into your Xbox and play, MS BC is really a neat feature.

CrimsonWing69253d ago

Shows you that backwards compatibility is a worthwhile feature.

1Victor253d ago

@crimson:” Shows you that backwards compatibility is a worthwhile feature.”
I agree it’s worthy at the start of the generation when there’s few new generation games but halfway through the generation it’s not a feature.
Now it’s good that this game is finding a renewed life for its fan but it shows a mayor flaw in new games release when a close decade old game is toppling the charts

CrimsonWing69252d ago

I don't know if I understand what you mean. It's a feature regardless of the time into the generation.

Let's take Armored Core 6 for example. Let's say I'm interested in checking out the previous Armored Core games, sure would be nice if I could play them on my current-gen console.

We're about 3 years into current-gen and old games are hitting in the top 5 for sales charts in the month.

I do get where you're coming from with older games possibly being better than the newer games, but the feature stays the feature. I can only speak for myself, but when there's a lull in game releases or nothing great is out, I like to go back to old titles. It's just nice to not have to have a bunch of consoles out to do so.

I think moving forward it'll be less and less of an issue as like with the PS5 you can access most all of the PS4 games, but I like going back to PS1 and PS2. Would be awesome to kind of make backwards compatibility a prioritized feature moving forward. Hell, Sony was the first to implement it.
