Was The Mechromancer Worth The Borderlands 2 Pre-order?

DualShock Nexus: Borderlands 2 is without a doubt one of 2012's most satisfying sequels, but for many players that couldn't decide which character to choose, they now have the option to try out the new Mechromancer class. Gaige The Mechromancer was originally set as extra incentive to pre-order the game, and now that she's a playable character, one question remains. Was this new character worth pre-ordering Borderlands 2?

Same here and I got the game for a whopping 37 US$ on GMG so it was definitely well worth it it. Great game

Exactly. I understand the sentiment but the question was wrong. Is the mechromancer a character worth of your time or does she stack up to the others or is she simply a gimmick? Something along those lines. Cuz, even if there wasnt a pre order incentive, it was worth making sure u got ur copy.

Yes it was.
It's a fun and very powerful character plus it adds like 30 hours of gameplay if u wanna max it out legit.
So imo it was worth the pre-order :)

Anarchy is the single best feature in borderlands 2. So yes.

The feature is such a double-edged sword! :P I love it! I wish they could do something like it for other classes :3 and Deathtrap just rips through enemies :)

Although I was more interested in the game than the character it was entirely worth it. And as others have said it is a plus/bonus that is actually really worthwhile.

DAM IT!!! i bot the DLC day one, i played it for an hour. then my controller broke!!! a Left trigger broke inside...im suck watching youtube videos and commenting on N4G. :/
I got to level 6, and ya...i was enjoying the small time i had with it!!

Of course, if you didn't pre-order you now have to pay an extra $10 for an overpowered character that a lot of people will be using. You can always choose not to buy this character. I do find it a little funny how this character was suppose to released 2 months after the game came out, then 1 month, and then less than 3 weeks.

The reality is that this character could have been finished within the time frame before the game went gold and released alongside the game. If they did that there wouldn't be the cool added value of pre-ordering the game and getting this character for free.

Lets be completely honest here, this character is nothing more then day 1 dlc, but rather than release it day 1 Gearbox held the character back for a little under a month and then released it. Before you say that you get this content for free if you preordered the game, I would remind you that you could get the Me3 day 1 dlc free for a certain preorder too. Thats pretty clever, but if this was an EA, Capcom, or a Bioware game people would be screaming bloody murder and sending death threats. But Gearbox gets a pass because they where clever about their dlc practices. I am sure we will see a lot more of this cleverness from other gaming companies.

They showed the class to the press after the game launched and it still wasn't finished. Hell the character model wasn't even colored in at that point nor was the skill tree finished. Gamers these days are always out to try and find a negative for every situation rather than the positive side of things. Really pathetic.

Following your logic, If Gearbox will announce a 6th Class that will get released in 3 months you will also yell "hey! why i didnt get that for free aswell when the game got released!"
