Whatever makes them sleep at night. lol

I hate this dev. They are so arrogant and conceited.

showtimefolks4216d ago

they talk so much and they do back it up but GT is a different standard and a different beast.

turn-10 is run by 10 year old fanboys

xPhearR3dx4216d ago

I'm sorry, I missed the part in this article where Turn 10 said anything about GT. Fact is, like it or not, Forza is the highest rated racing sim this gen. They have every right to praise their own game when no other racing sim is rated higher. Now, if they were to speak about sales, that's a different story because GT has them beat by a lot.

Blankman854216d ago

A different lower standard, yes. Sub 85 metascore class. Forza dwells only in the 90 section. They believe all cars should have proper interiors and be consistent in visual quality. Fanboys or not, they make proper games.

MmaFan-Qc4216d ago

xPhearR3dx, sooo..... you missed the part where Turn10 dev was busted on NeoGaf(busted by the admins) posting as an "non-biased gamer" and posting hate threads toward GT?

fr0sty4216d ago

"EXCLUSIVE! DEV SAYS THEIR GAME IS SUPER AWESOME AND YOU SHOULD BUY IT!"

StreetsofRage4216d ago

Arrogant? Conceited? Or confident?

What's wrong with being confident and excited about their product. It would be one thing saying all that and their final product didn't produce but it does. They released 2 of the highest rated racing sims this gen. They are currently king. They have every right to be confident.

People hate on these developers just because Forza beat GT5. That's the only reason why.

Blankman854216d ago

Actually they released 3 of the highest rated racing games this gen. 1, 2 and 3 belong to FM3, FM4 and FM2 respectively.

Lvl_up_gamer4216d ago

You must have really hated Sony when they were saying such lines as:

http://next-generationsyste...

and

http://www.reghardware.com/...

and

http://www.wiichat.com/foru...

At least Turn 10 have something to be arrogant about. They have created the highest rated racing sim on consoles since the release of their first Forza title on the original Xbox.

Love Forza hate Turn 10. but then again i don't know a single person that works there, i am just going by the selective (amateur) journalism that reports on them

fr0sty4216d ago

You don't have to know them, just watch or read a few interviews and you'll quickly see how full of themselves they can be.

doublebass24216d ago

I think its very convinient for gt fans to forget all those promises made(but never did) before Gt5 was released..What happend the"we ll implement damage when we are able to do its the best damage"?And instead they had 800 cars that dont damage almost at all,a couple hundred that did show somewhat damage, and only a few (the rally cars) that had adaquate damage implementation? the A.i. was only better compared previous Gts but still not good for competition(forza 4 a.i. has troubles only when you choose carrer mode, since it supposedly monitors your playing and tries to adapt a difficulty for you! Go ahead and try event races with a.i. professional and will see if you value the rewind feature then, cause its pretty difficult)Night and weather implementation for a fistfull number of tracks and not all tracks? They had more then enough time to do that, and also not the best night or weather race tracks in the racing genre!Instead they choose to relaese the game unfinished ,even after so many paches, with tearing even at 720p and frame loss.. And you dare call turn 10 arrogant?polyphony practically gave turn 10 the crown by realasing a 8/10 anot a 11/10 game..better luck next gen p.d....

mcstorm4216d ago

I agree with what your saying about GT5 not being finished but I don't think it was PD's fault. If you look back to when GT5 came out sony had noting before xmas that year and MS had another big line up and I think Sony forced PD to rush the game out.

I have to give PD credit for carrying on patching the game over the 1st 12 months or so but I still think it was far from what PD set out to do.

I do think because GT5 had so many problems and online is lacking what Forza 4 has I think PD will up there game for GT6 as 5 did not really feel the big step-up from 4 and it is now starting to feel date.

Im sure PD will turn it around but I do think Forza is the new King of racers with 4 and for me anyway each game has improved over the last and again imo forza 4 is the best racer ive ever played for what it offers and it the only racer that keeps me going back to it time and time again.

Forza Horizon is a different approach than Forza 4 and GT5 but it looks like it is looking to get the PGR and NFS market and I cant wait to get my hands on it.

For me the games I have decided to get by the end of the year are Forza Horizon, Halo 4, ZombieU, New Super Mario U and Pickmin 3 and I have just got Resistance BS, LBP Vita and Fifa 13.

wishingW3L4216d ago (Edited 4216d ago )

PD has only made 1 demo and 1 PS3 game, I bet they encountered tons of issues during the development and that's why they took so much time. And the same with Team Ico and The Last Guardian which is a pretty small Team. In fact, Turn 10 has like 200 more employees than PD too....

doublebass24216d ago

Well said and agree on almsot every thing, except the fact the they had 5 and a half years to perfect"?" the game...

Why not all cars the same quality as premium, with interiors?Whats with the damage a.i. issues?

why sounds are not realistic enough?Turn 10 released forza 2 2007, forza 3 2009 and Forza 4 2011, all games with a much smaller devolopment window showed progress both visually and in terms of gameplay mechanics.

Instead PD was like taking the easy route, importing cars that look they are from a psp version, tracks also pourly optimised, still not enough customization!

But then again targeted details like night racing(which is still not the best there is, no dynamic lights and stuff) or whippers and blinking lights (not on all cars of course..).A big WHY and WTF were hovering in my mind when i first played gt5 the first hours(i never touched prologue cause i wanted to taste the "full"expirience..)

Yes forza 4 is console king racer for me too, they really did managed to produce a when rounded and thouroughly inspected racer.sony and PD overhyped the game and lokk how that turned out..Turn 10 also hyped their game, but it did rise up to the expectations.that is the maing difference.

Of course that is my opinion.

Lvl_up_gamer4215d ago (Edited 4215d ago )

@ doublebass2

I might be able to shed some light on some things.

I agree with everything you said.

Over a year before GT5's release, Kazunori Yamauchi said that GT5 was done and could be released anytime.

http://www.psu.com/a007497/...

Speaking to Eurogamer, Yamauchi stated, "I want to release it as fast as I can," adding, "but GT5 for us, when you talk about its status, it's at a point we can release it any time we want, but we can always keep working on it. It's very important for us to make sure everything is done perfectly and everything is done in detail."

The game was ONLY suppose to have those Premium cars and limited tracks which had the weather and day/night cycles. However, Turn 10 was showing that they could bring over 500 highly detailed cars on more tracks. PD even went as far as to go to Turn 10's booth to check out and play Forza 3 to see exactly what Turn 10 was able to do.

http://www.eurogamer.net/ar...

Sony got wind of what Turn 10 was able to do so Sony forced Kaz Yamauchi to include ports from other platforms like the PsP and PS2, add a terrible damage system and force more tracks and increase the number of cars to 1000 and forced Kaz to butcher his perfection of an IP. Sony wasn't about to allow their main competitor to one up their greatest and longest running franchise.

Kevin Butler
VP of ADD MORE AWESOME
"So when they said 500 cars I said make it a 1000"
http://www.youtube.com/watc...

Sony interfering with Kaz's work is the result as to why GT5 averaged an 84 on meta. Can you blame the low scoring when you are playing a current gen title 6 years to make and have to see graphics like these?

http://n4g.com/news/653722/...

when they were all suppose to look like this

http://images.search.yahoo....

GT5 is a perfect example of Corporation Interference and not a question of the developers skill level or "laziness".

Turn 10 just has a larger team with complete freedom all under a corporation with very deep pockets to attain licenses and a great relationship with car manufacturers.

mcstorm4216d ago

Wow a lot of hate here. I cant wait for this game. Forza 4 is the only racing game that is not Mario kart that keeps me going back to it 12 months after its been out and I cant get enough. I have got a lot of games this year but Forza 4 keeps me going back to it because the online side imo is far better than any other sim out there.

As for Forza Horizon I also cant wait for this game as it is looking like it is going to be the next PGR but with a different approach.

doublebass24216d ago

Would you love something that you waited so long, that turned out to be a bag full empty promises?I really wanted GT5 to play good, hell i bought my ps3 just 4 that!!Now as you also said, it sit around collecting the thing it deserves..dust!!But my Forza 4 is also keeping me busy some times during the week.I wish i could buy a fanatec set up to enjoy more!!!Maybe if Project cars turns out for console even half as good as pc version, I might make a move like that.To tell you the truth, i ll ceratinly try the demo(not available till now) of Forza horizon, but i dont think i ll get day one..we ll see how it turns out and i ll buy a moth or 2later(dishoned, doom3 and halo 4 are on the way first to my shopping cart!!)

mcstorm4216d ago

I agree I was excited for GT5 and after getting it I did feel let down by the game as I was expecting it to blow every other GT game out the water but it did not it was just updated.

I can see why you are going for them games but im getting bored of FPS games so limited them to Halo 4 and ZombieU and looking forward to a change of games on the WiiU as well as Forza Horizon as im a big MSR and PGR fan and I think this will be the next step in this type of game.

chukamachine4216d ago (Edited 4216d ago )

I play GT5 and F1 2012.

I prefer the feel of GT5 over forza.

If we talk about graphics, yes forza has consistancy, but GT5 has realtime lighting, day/night cycle. Weather.

Forza has none of these and as result the game looks flat to me.

http://www.youtube.com/watc...

Only thing better in forza is audio.

mcstorm4216d ago

I don't hate GT5 but just because a game has day and night and Weather dose not mean the game is better. Turn 10 came out and said the most important thing a bout a sim is it runs at 60fps all the time and this is the reason why it is just day racing. GT5's most frustrating thing is the frame rate drop. It dose my head in when it happens and it happens a lot in the game.

GT5 is not the same quality as 1 to 4 every GT fan can see this and we all expect PD to do better with GT6.

doublebass24216d ago

yeah, if you are comfortable with ramming your more powerfull and heavier car to the back of a lighter and less powerfull car ,and sudeenly your car HALTS(!!!!!!!!!!!!!!), i am pretty certain you dont "feel" right....Lets not say about crossing various points of dirt or grass with no speed loss, or the infamous advantage you have by taking a corner simply running against the protective road barriers..How do these "feel" to you?Pretty realistic???

Try ditching Forza harder next time, not just only assuming that Forza has only audio advantages..cause i am pretty certain you did nt even play the game, or even own an xbox..Cause if you did you d speak otherwise. And when i say play not just run a lap over a freinds 360 with forza..or watching a youtube video..

Lvl_up_gamer4216d ago

"but GT5 has realtime lighting, day/night cycle. Weather."

1. Turn 10 hired Hollywood lighting experts to help with the lighting system in Forza 4. You are out of your mind if you think GT5's lighting (which is great) is better then Forza 4's (which is better).

"We hired guys from Pixar, we hired guys from Hollywood, to help us develop a lighting engine more similar to what we see in Toy Story 3 and Cars 2. Now, there are a couple of other games that are experimenting with this, and I think in the next 10 years this will become the norm, as Hollywood techniques make their way into gaming, but what this allows us to do is have a game that runs at 60 frames per second, with cutting-edge physics, and cutting-edge AI, but also, the cars are perfectly seated in the gaming environment."

http://www.videogamer.com/x...

2. Day/Night cycles and Weather are great features but they are not core features in a racing sim and those features are not found on all tracks. There is actually much more tracks that don't support day/night cycles and weather then there is that do.

I respect your opinion and it's your overall decision to choose which game you prefer, but in all honesty, I think you are bias and are choosing GT5 over Forza simply because you prefer the PS3 and don't own a 360 let alone have played Forza 4.

urwifeminder4216d ago

Nice im getting for sure the first game of 2012 for me massive turn 10 fan and pgr fan.

10 Years On, It's Hard To Actually Celebrate Forza Horizon's Legacy

Forza Horizon has been around for 10 years today, but due to the franchise's constant "End Of Life" policies, it's hard to celebrate.

Forza Horizon Games Ranked from Worst to Best

Don't think there's literally a "worst" Forza game man. Microsoft just makes these too damn good.

MaximusPrime_662d ago

Microsoft didn't develop (make) Forza, Playground Games did.

Microsoft simply published it.

SinisterMister662d ago

Ah okay. Thanks for the correction mate!

MadLad661d ago

I see no difference being they've only ever made games for Microsoft on Microsoft's dime for the entirety of their existence as a developer.

@godmars

Care to explain how that has anything to do with anything here?

DOMination-661d ago

lol.. pedantic much? ^ PG and the Forza IP are owned by Microsoft.

FH5 may be a technical marvel but it's been a buggy mess since launch and PG seem intent to add new content without ever bothering to fix anything. Many of which were bugs that were also in FH4.

FH3
FH1
FH4
FH5
FH2 (still good but the structure was messed up - too much emphasis on grinding "roadtrips" which was tedious)

jznrpg661d ago (Edited 661d ago )

They didn’t buy Playground until 2018 or 2019 I forget which year but it hasn’t been that long . The first Forza came out in 2005 . So most of the games were published by MS at the time but they didn’t own PlayGround. MS doesn’t make good studios in general , they buy them .

DOMination-661d ago

When Sony buys a studio after working with them for a couple of games, people on here call it an "organic purchase". MS & Playground made three very good games, based on an existing IP using an engine made by Turn 10 before purchasing them. But it is still pedantic. Shall we say that Sony didn't make The Last of Us? Or that they don't "own" the first 12 Ratchet & Clank games because they only purchase Insomniac a few years back? We all know what they meant.

Anyway, Forza Motorsport has always been developed by Turn 10. Which Microsoft built from the ground up. So when you refer to games from 2005, your point about only buying studios is completely wrong.

darthv72661d ago

You left out a FH2, there were two versions. The one made for XBO by playground and the one made for 360 by sumo digital. There are enough differences to warrant each one being on its own.

monkey602661d ago

FH3 is my favourite by a long shot. I got surprisingly bored of FH5 quick enough unfortunately so that's down the bottom of my list

sammarshall102661d ago

Yeah I think this series peaked with Forza Horizon 3

Orbilator661d ago

I really dont care for any of the horizons. Hate having to do what I'm told. Forza 7 was the same, I didn't want to do anything other than race cars. But it made me drive lorries!!!..

Technically they all good games but I want the next Forza to be a proper car racer, all the trucks etc can be put under an arcade racing section which I never have to go into.

MrBaskerville661d ago

The mandatory gimmick races are a bit of a bad habit in FM games, atleast since 5. Also dislike the heavy amount of unskipable cutscenes and dialouge in FM5 and perhaps 7.

Azraeia661d ago

Tbh I found FH3 to actually be my favourite and the one I played the most.

The one I got bored of very quickly was 4. Wasn't a fan of the seasons and driving round England was boring cause its where I live. Got very old quick.

glennhkboy661d ago

I still think 2 (Xbox One version) is my personal best. Driving an Italian supercars on an Italian highway just feel so "right"!!!!! "2" make me understand why Italian make those supercars.

I don't know why so many do not like 4. I like the seasonal change & dramatic weather change. 5 seems to dial the weather change way way down that the weather seldom change (Is the real Mexico really has such a perfect weather all the time?).
