Dishonored Review | Games Fiends

Games Fiends writes:
Dishonored appears to have had phrases like “potential Game of the Year” and “Once in a generation” levelled at it consistently over the past few months. Does Arkane’s stealth action title deserve such praise? Of has the hype machine been in full swing? Dishonored places you in the shoes of Corvo. The once revered protector to the Empress who now must fight to clear his name of her assassination. After a daring prison escape Corvo finds himself located in Dunwall, a grubby looking port city. There he joins with the growing Loyalists resistance against the newly appointed ruler. A ruler who just happens to have been the instigator of the Empresses murder. Corvo is out for revenge and redemption.

Really want to pick this up... should i be worried about it being glitchy? Since it seems almost everything that has Bethesdas name on it turns out super glitchy on the PS3. Anyone? Thanks in advance :)

Plagasx4207d ago

The game isn't developed by Bethesda, it's published by them and it's developed by Arkane Studios.

bwazy4207d ago

So? Obsidian developed Fallout: New Vegas and we all know how that turned out for the most part.

Game will probably be fine though.

cr33ping_death4207d ago

That's what i was thinking..... ill give it a few days... hopefully its not because this looks awesome

Irishguy954207d ago

Obsidian where rushed(FAllout 3 - 3 years, NV - 1.5 years, Skyrim - 6 years), we don't know if these were

Dovahkiin4207d ago

@bwazy

But it was developed on Bethesda's engine.

MattyG4207d ago (Edited 4207d ago )

@bwazy That's because Obsidian used Bethesda's engine. Arkane used Unreal, so it should be fine.

EDIT: Oops, didn't see Dovahkiin's comment. My bad.

@MattyG

Why do you tell me this as if I didn't know that. I was pointing out the failed logic in his post.

Hey guys - game runs fine on all platforms :) PC looks the best as you'd expect but the game is Unreal 3 based so you know what to expect.

Had zero problems with the title during my review - so don't worry and just enjoy :D

The Magic of 'Dishonored’s' Blink

It’s a shame, really, that so few games have “borrowed” Dishonored’s Blink – in the right hands, such a power could be game-changing.

It felt kinda cheap to me… both in terms as a tactic, and game design

Abnor_Mal422d ago (Edited 422d ago )

There was a small game called Aragami that “borrowed” the blink, that was a good game.

Unfortunately I heard the sequel wasn’t good so I stayed away from trying it out.

sairenfox2099421d ago

The sequel changed some of the mechanics from the first game but it was still a very polished and enjoyable experience. You should definitely give it a shot sometime. The game's currently on sale on Steam

Abnor_Mal421d ago

Okay thanks for the heads up, will look out for it being on sale one day.

I really did like the first and played it back to back as soon as I finished the first play through.
