Why delaying Rayman Legends is a good move

Rayman Legends slips to Q1 2013, but what makes this a good move?

It's disappointing to not have the game at launch, but I'd rather it be near perfect than have many flaws. I can't wait to play this game though. It looks like a lot of fun. I guess all I'll be getting at launch now is ZombieU. I hope it's great.

Rayman Origins was incredible. There seriously needs to be more hand drawn 1080p platformers.

Without even reading the article, I know why it was delayed. So it doesn't get cannibalized. Ubisoft already had a huge amount of games coming out this holiday. They pushed the release back to give it it's own time, without the worry of it being overshadowed.

With Ubisoft I honestly don't know what to say when they delay games...only that most of the time it's not to ACTUALLY IMPROVE the game.

Splinter Cell 3D or Rayman Origins 3Ds anyone?

I'll wait till the vita version or 3Ds version comes out (only if they don't screw up the 3DS version again)

I prefer to play handhelds...it's just something about continuing the game both at home and on the go that makes handhelds awesome!

It's so obviously a strategic move, Ubisoft might as well have just been up front and said they don't dare go toe to toe with New Super Mario Bros.

Its a good move for Nintendo in my opinion. Games like this and pikmin 3 have gotten delayed so they can stretch out there line up for the next few months. I'm still getting 5 games at launch and a few downloads ones ; With games being delayed i still have a few awesome titles to look forward to months down the line. ZombiU, AC3, blackops 2, darksiders 2, scribblenauts, trine 2, nano assault, and little inferno day one and Mario, rayman, aliens, pikmin, and a few others int he coming months. So much awesome gaming going on for the next few months.

Look how that turned out. Apparently there's a petition out to get an RE on Vita. Obviously my general views make me bias, but I find that sad.

yeah its been bugging me every Wii U exclusive that has been announced I've seen quite a few people going " I'll wait for this to be on playstation/Xbox", " this better be released on other consoles" or "When will this be on a Real console" people are pathetic.

I really don't know what the hell kind of problem people have. If you're one of those core elitists then what is the problem with the Wii U? I mean they have third party support, they have some solid games in the launch, we KNOW there's some killer stuff to come, so if there's a game you want on the platform why not just get it?

Fair enough, some people don't have the money. So save up and get it at a later time perhaps? I wanted Metal Gear Solid 4 to come out on the 360 and it never did. So three years after the thing launched, I got myself a PS3 with a copy of Metal Gear Solid 4. Lo and behold I bought more games for the console and now my multiplatform games are purchased for my PS3 instead of the 360.

I mean if I went onto a post about Heavy Rain when that was coming out and said "Oh I'll just wait for the 360 version," people would chew me out for it and probably rightfully so.

Apart from what was already stated on the article, I seriously, seriously hope Ubi takes advantage of this extra time to at least consider a new angle for the single player gameplay as well. Rayman Legends was #1 on my list of Wii U games, but after reading a couple reports where apparently half of the single player campaign has been butchered to force players to use the gamepad features, I got really disappointed, and now it's passed from "must buy" to "wait and see".

Now my number one spot was taken by Mario Bros. U.

Apparently a lot of the delay has to due with Nintendo finally giving developers access to the Miiverse and the social gaming aspects of their system. Ubisoft wants to take advantage of these facts so they are going back to tweak some things to accomodate the Miiverse along with other things..
