Epic! World of Warcraft completely re-created in Minecraft

GamesBeat's Sebastian Haley: Back in February we interviewed a 27-year-old U.S. grad student known as “Ramses” about his project that would bring the entire virtual world of Blizzard’s massively multiplayer World of Warcraft to Minecraft. I've seen countless videos of Minecraft -- at least an hours worth -- but have never played it. Some day I will.

Because actually playing in World of Warcraft isn't enough.

I keep trying to convince myself I should be impressed. I know this must have taken a ton of time and effort, but....it's just not that impressive to me. It just seems like such an egregious waste of time.

I've seen the "waste of time" sentiment before on this. I'm genuinely curious why you feel that way? Are you impressed by smaller feats in Minecraft (or LittleBigPlanet) such as the recreation of the Taj Mahal? Do you think it's pointless to grind for loot in Torchlight or Borderlands? If someone creates something that he/she and others enjoy, is it really a waste of anything?

Perhaps "waste of time" wasn't the best phrase to use. I guess after seeing so many people recreate so many things in Minecraft, it just seems like grinding gears at this point.

Given that there's no degree of creativity involved with "recreation," making something like this in Minecraft seems to be more of a demonstration of the amount of time a person is willing to invest in the game, and that just doesn't impress me anymore.

Plunderstorm Is The World Of Warcraft Battle Royale We’ve Been Waiting For
