X-Com and Dishonored? This week needs a B2G1 free sale.

madmad4213d ago

Just waiting for the Dishonored reviews before I commit this week. If I see a few 8's then it's mine.

You and me both dude.
So much potential, but then again so did AC1 back in 2007. And that burned me, because I disregarded the actual content of the criticisms against it.

Never again.

Code of Princess has a bad name but looks pretty cool. Guardian Heroes fans should take note.

No love for the Pokemans?!?

Pokemon Black Version 2 for me. Or White. Hell, maybe both.

mediastudies4213d ago

I still love the Pokemans.

It's just that I don't think Black/White 2 will feel all that unique. Least that's what Ive heard.

I'll be picking up Dishonored this week.

XCOM: Enemy Unknown - A Welcome Rebirth

XCOM: Enemy Unknown rebooted the series back in 2012, and has since inspired numerous new strategy game series to be born.

If someone gets into this I'd recommend getting the enemy within version. It's got all the dlc included so it's the better version. Wish the author would've atleast mentioned it. I didn't see it.

Fantastic game though. Xcom 2 is top notch also. I've spent countless hours in these games.

Excellent game.
Played to death on PS3 years ago.

What other games were inspired by this game?

JL2930171d ago

Gears Of War Tactics, Phoenix Point. Many others.

shinoff2183171d ago

Phoenix point if I remember was created by the original xcom developer or something to that affect. I did try gears tactics some months ago and I just couldn't get into it. It's probably just me

It was, but it was really closer to the newer XCOM than the older ones. Gears Tactics was okay but was hard to get into knowing there probably wont be a sequel.

The Magic of 'Dishonored’s' Blink

It’s a shame, really, that so few games have “borrowed” Dishonored’s Blink – in the right hands, such a power could be game-changing.

It felt kinda cheap to me… both in terms as a tactic, and game design

Abnor_Mal425d ago (Edited 425d ago )

There was a small game called Aragami that “borrowed” the blink, that was a good game.

Unfortunately I heard the sequel wasn’t good so I stayed away from trying it out.

sairenfox2099423d ago

The sequel changed some of the mechanics from the first game but it was still a very polished and enjoyable experience. You should definitely give it a shot sometime. The game's currently on sale on Steam

Abnor_Mal423d ago

Okay thanks for the heads up, will look out for it being on sale one day.

I really did like the first and played it back to back as soon as I finished the first play through.
