Happy Wars heads to XBLA for free on October 12

Toyko-based game developer Toylogic's latest title, Happy Wars, will be available for all Xbox LIVE Gold Members to download for free on October 12. The title is a free-to-play game specifically for Xbox LIVE Arcade.

Ask yourself this

So say that you have to pay to play the PSN free to play games. Then why are people playing Free Realms and DCUO WITHOUT paying or having Plus? The same will be for Dust 514.

THAT is free2play. Not having to pay a cover just for the sake of accessing the game. Go ahead and ask anyone playing DCUO or Free Realms if they require PS+ to use it. Ask them that when Dust 514 comes out too.

I can't speak for anyone else but myself here, but I'm not "complaining" about anything. All I did was tell the OP to do some research if he things "free games are ONLY on the 360".

You're trying to compare the plus free game rentals with actual f2p games rather than comparing the 360's "f2p" games with Playstation's f2p games.

If Microsoft makes these f2p select games available to the Silver members as well (which would mean allowing them to go online for these games) THEN you'd have something

If your paying $60 a year for XBL Gold, your not looking very hard, a quick search on Ebay or Amazon will find deals as low as $35.

Is PSN+ Free To Play? You have to pay to play those games right? Even if something is technically free to play. Its the same for Xbox Live.

People complained that you didn't get games with XBL Gold, now they are giving really good games like this, which is really fun and addicting. Plus all the other great XBL Gold features. You absolutely cannot beat what you get for the price.

Stop complaining about it, let people use their own money however they choose.

I believe its only for Gold-members, but there is an offline portion if I'm not mistaken so maybe Silver-members could still download and play it just not the online portion.

No, its Gold Members only. That is like asking if you can download the PSN+ games without being a member. Its a perk of being a XBL Gold Subscriber.

Well, you CAN download the games on + WITHOUT +. They just won't be free.

Oh, and you don't NEED + to play any of the free to play games on PS3. That's where the difference comes in.

This free, free to play game is only available if you PAY for Xbox Live. That is not the case with DC Universe, and will not be the case with Dust514.

To your other comment, XBL is a decade old. In that time, Microsoft has given away maybe half a dozen games; PS+ does that a month. And unlike Gold, you DON'T need + to play online. The only "feature" is cross game/party chat, which you can still get for free elsewhere. In fact, EVERYTHING Live gives you can be found elsewhere- and better, I might add- for free. So it's giving you ZERO value for the money.

Stop making excuses. Playing online should be free. As long as you have to pay for it, Live is a ripoff.

I don't think so, they probably would have made an announcement for that by now. I'm guessing the Dashboard Update for all is coming like late Oct. or sometime in Nov.

There have been days where i've spent hours at a time on the ps3 browser. Soon xbox users will soon know of this too.

Console Web browser can be seriously addictive. (at least for me)
