Wonder how many of those will sell to consumers and how fast.

-Mika-4214d ago

Hopefully it alot. This is an amazing game with alot of content. 20+ hours of campaigns, Unlockable costumes and hidden mercenaries characters. I am personally enjoying it.

I hope capcom could reach that 7million mark they aimed for because they did a great job with this. Do not listen to the negative reviews guys. This is a great game.

LAWSON724214d ago

Ya let support games with shitty gameplay.

blitz06234214d ago (Edited 4214d ago )

To each his own, but this is one of the first supposed AAA games that most users and critics agree on how bad it is. I'm still planning on getting it on the bargain bin after I play the other RE games...

Trenta274214d ago

You have a horrible sense for games then. This game is terrible. Plot, gameplay, everything. The only thing it's good at is sound effects. Chris's campaign was some of the worst moments I have ever lived in a triple A game. It was just awful.

TheXgamerLive4214d ago

hahaha ummm no.

RE6 is probably the most succesful failure in gaming history though.

Mkai284213d ago (Edited 4213d ago )

I agree, I too am enjoying this game. The graphics may not be as good as 5 but the gameplay is there. The action is insane and nothing like what's in the demo. I can tell capcom took a little from left 4 dead 2;)

csreynolds4213d ago (Edited 4213d ago )

95 disagrees. That has to be a some kind of record...

Highlife4213d ago

Funny thing is all those disagrees you got. I bet almost all of them haven't played the game yet.

Christopher4213d ago (Edited 4213d ago )

***This is an amazing game with alot of content. 20+ hours of campaigns, Unlockable costumes and hidden mercenaries characters. I am personally enjoying it. ***

Everyone agrees it has a lot of content. The majority of people who have played and reviewed the game disagree that it is an amazing game.

***Do not listen to the negative reviews guys. This is a great game.***

You know you just told us to not listen to the majority of reviewers except your own review of the game, right? Even saying "This is a great game" is a review of the game.

What type of paradox are you attempting to create here?

PS3Freak4213d ago

I swear, every single post that Mika makes, I disagree with.

Not literally, I don't actually click disagree every time, but I always disagree with his/hers opinion. ALWAYS.

Never had that happen before.

belac094213d ago

finally someone willing to admit it, this game is waaaaay better than 5. its got so much content like you said. people are just jumping on the bandwagon without actually trying it.

zeeshan4213d ago

Surprise surprise! Another crappy games sells buttloads :) Hey this COD module does work. Anyhow, this is shipped numbers. Lets wait for actual sales. I won't be surprised if they are high as well.

chriski3334213d ago

I know well said buddy got the game day 1 i love it i don't understand why people are going nuts its a new game not resident evil 2 its 6 why would u wanna keep playing the same game over and over go play resident evil 2 if u don't wanna play 6 and we that like the game we will enjoy it!

mewhy324213d ago

Wow. I think capcom may be in trouble with this one. The reviews are just terrible and the meta score is abismal. I'll pass.

knowyourstuff4213d ago (Edited 4213d ago )

Just like horrible Michael Bay movies, this will sell incredibly well due its massive scope, its grandeur, its massive marketing campaign, and the massive fanbase established with the previous games, particularly RE5 given its the only other current gen RE game on high end consoles. RE5 sold 7 million copies, it doesn't matter if this doesn't review well, people will buy it, perhaps like it or hate it, and sell their copy, so you'll see a massive pile of used ones in a month or two.

Lets just say if RE6 doesn't sell all 4.5 million copies, retailers will have a serious supply chain problem on their hands and you will find this drop in price much sooner than you'd think just so retailers will have shelf space for something that will actually sell.

Awesome_Gamer4213d ago

@Mika What's wrong with you? stop supporting shitty generic games.

Army_of_Darkness4213d ago (Edited 4213d ago )

So much hate for this game that it makes me wonder how much people even played it?!?

RE6- Hated for changing to much.
COD- Hated for being too much of the same.

Poor, poor, developers... There is literally no pleasing anybody these days....

cruxito4213d ago

capcom Employer doing his job lol

solidjun54213d ago

To each their own, but you sound like a PR for Capcom.

Hopefully not a lot

Reviewers finally grow a pair and give the game the score it dreserves for once so it will give Capcom a wake up call but its not going to do any good at the end of the day if all Capcom sees is amazing sales...they're ignorant so if it gets high sales they will pretend the games a success and ignore complints the game got.

They're proud like that....funny since its the same for most Japanese developers

Btw ignore Mika...this is the girl who wants co-op in a RE2 remake

-Mika-4214d ago

Sigh... Carl. Can you honestly answer this questioN.

Did you even play the game? You and alot of other people are bashing the game when they haven't even played it. That i really don't respect.

What complaints? The only complaints I have about the game is the cover system and chris campaign. Other than that. This game is great. It has alot of content and It just great co-op game.

PopRocks3594214d ago

@Mika

I played the demo and thought it was utter crap. I'm not buying this game. Might play it at some point down the line.

Carl_Shocker4214d ago (Edited 4214d ago )

I think the real question here Mika is have you played the old ones or even enjoyed them for what they were.

Ive played the two demos like many others which comes to six missions in total and have seen all the trailers, gameplay footage of it...and theres a lot so yes I can judge it.

Are you so in denial about this...the only complaints were those two...Mika read the reviews theres a lot more then just those two complaints

AntsPai4214d ago

-Mika- is right, kind of. Everyone is saying this game but these are also the people that are saying they'll never buy it. I'm all up for blindly hating on something just because everyone else on the internet does too /s

Give the game a chance, it's not the best Resident Evil game ever but it's certainly not a bad game (except Chris' section ¬_¬)

I await your downvotes, although I implore you to all try the game, just try, rent, borrow or steal if you have to. It would just be nice to hear hate from people that isn't blind, unjustified rage.

LOGICWINS4214d ago

"I think the real question here Mika is have you played the old ones or even enjoyed them for what they were."

To be fair, what does that have to do with anything? The fact is, Mika happened to enjoy RE6.

AntsPai4214d ago

Once again logic wins, I don't get how people can't grasp this concept. Play game, enjoy, don't enjoy. You can compare it to every game under the sun or you can see it for what it is.

Carl_Shocker4214d ago (Edited 4214d ago )

@LOGIC

because if you havent played the old ones then how can you defend the new ones and say there better. It makes you one sided at the end of the day, especialy if shes going on herself about playing one before talking about it.

Besides most of the people who defend RE6 are the ones who never liked or played on the old ones.

KillerPwned4214d ago

"Btw ignore Mika...this is the girl who wants co-op in a RE2 remake"

...Are you serious!?

AntsPai4214d ago

@Carl: I have played and loved all (most, didn't like survivor 2 or dead aim) Resident Evil games since the PlayStation one. No one here is saying that 6 is better than any of the others. Well, I'm not, 4 stays as my all time favourite and then Nemesis. ALTHOUGH! I do think Resident Evil 6 is a good game. If you go in with an open mind and try not to think of the older games then it's a great game. Sure it's fast paced and the cover system is next to nothing but those aren't necessarily bad things. I can understand that you don't like it for it's 'lack of horror' but if you actually played the game you'd find it's a heck of alot scarier than RE5.

I don't know how else to convey my point here and I'm not trying to say your opinion is wrong (no one can say that) all I am trying to do is refute your statement about people defending RE6 never played or liked the original games because that is simply not true. Sorry.

I'd say you should give it a shot though, but you seem like you really don't want to so I wont :3

amaguli4214d ago

I think both Carl and Mika make good points. Obviously if you enjoy the classic Resident Evil games you are not going to be fond of 6. On the other hand, if have never played or enjoyed the classic ones then you might have a good time with this.

But seriously, the damage has been done. Capcom made their money, now it's time to see if the negative reaction from the critics will do anything to change Capcom's ways. Obviously the fans don't really amount to much to them.

LOGICWINS4214d ago (Edited 4214d ago )

"because if you havent played the old ones then how can you defend the new ones and say there better."

When did Mika say that the new ones were better than the old ones?

Btw, I enjoyed RE1-5, despite the fact that 4 and 5 took a new direction. My disdain for RE6 doesn't have as much to do with it's direction as much as it does with the fact that the game itself sucks due to floaty controls, clunky character movement, and lack of challenge.

AusRogo4214d ago

@ Carl, or maybe there are hardcore RE fans that actually enjoy the game , even if its not what they were hoping for. Maybe they just want to play it for the story, whatever floats their boat. It's all preference. And one more thing, are you ever positive? I only ever see you commenting negative things. (Not a personal attack)

SilentNegotiator4214d ago (Edited 4214d ago )

"Did you even play the game? You and alot of other people are bashing the game when they haven't even played it. That i really don't respect"

I suppose the reviewers didn't play it either, in your head?

Pretty convenient fanboy tactic; just close your eyes and pretend like you're the only person on the planet to have played the game and are thus the only person allowed to judge it.

Hellsvacancy4213d ago

"The only complaints I have about the game is the cover system"

Cover system? wtf, since when did Resident Evil need a cover system?

I honestly didnt know that, knowing that alone is enough for me to NOT want to play Res6

Carl_Shocker4213d ago (Edited 4213d ago )

@LOGIC

Shes said it before look at her past comments, come on mate this is Mika we're talking about

@Killerpwned

Not even lying look at her comment history

http://n4g.com/news/1089942...

@Ausrogo

" I only ever see you commenting negative things. (Not a personal attack) "

Positive about RE6....why would I be

Christopher4213d ago

***I await your downvotes, although I implore you to all try the game, just try, rent, borrow or steal if you have to. It would just be nice to hear hate from people that isn't blind, unjustified rage.***

Don't worry, most people who are fans of RE will likely try it. But damn it if I'm going to pay $60 to play a game that has received such low scores.

Highlife4213d ago

@carl
So what if she likes the game. What if I like the game what if I don't what the hell difference does it make to you. Nothing!

ASTAROTH4214d ago

There you have it.

An average game that is selling really well beyond what reviewers said. I lol at people saying the game sucks but they ended buying it. Like my friends at PSN. Last nigth I had 25 friends connected and almost all of them were playing RE 6. That gives CAPCOM the same message COD brings to ACTIVISION... no matter how good the game end being as long as it sells who gives a CRAP!!! A shame if you ask me.

amaguli4214d ago (Edited 4214d ago )

In reality, it doesn't really matter how many is sold to the consumers. Publishers make all of their money from units shipped to the retailer, the only time they make anything on sales is if you buy it directly from then.

Bargain bins could be filled with Resident Evil 6 copies, it doesn't really matter to Capcom, they are already made bank.

silenius4213d ago

I don't get it...
EVERYBODY hates how RE series have turned into!
And yet... it manages to sell 4.5 million copies.
WTF people?! YOU! (the 4.5 million) are the reason why the rest 10 million RE fans will never get the game we want!

matgrowcott4213d ago

There is no way in hell that there are 10 million people waiting to go back to tank controls and fetch puzzles. The excuse for 5 selling so well is that it was the first RE this gen. With 6 outdoing it, it's time to admit there might just be people who like the new style.

FunkMacNasty4213d ago

Given the terrible reviews from critics and gamers, im wondering how many of the copies of RE6 will wind up buried in the desert next to the Atari E.T. game that failed miserably in the 80's

Ranma14213d ago

Kind of like FF13. Sold so much, yet was disliked.

"-Mika-" judt doesnt understand that high sales doesnt mean people like the game. I never expected -Mika- to udnerstand, seeing as -Mika- has an FF13 avatar

zeddy4213d ago

people need to get over resident evil 4, seriously. i never played it but i loved re5, played the shit out of it. and im sure if re6 isnt exactly the same as re5 i will be disapointed /sarcasm.

showtimefolks4213d ago

this will be in bargain bin very soon

BinaryMind4213d ago (Edited 4213d ago )

It's definitely not going to reach a second shipment.

ZombieKiller4213d ago

...and only 4.2 million were returned once they saw the game.

ChronoJoe4213d ago

Doesn't really matter. Game will be a success on Capcom's reports already.

That said might have harmed the RE brand long-term. We'll have to see!

Burning_Finger4214d ago (Edited 4214d ago )

Again Keyword "Shipped". Shake my head.

It's not like people bought those from the retailers already. It's probably in the warehouse collecting dust. XD

MattyG4214d ago

Yeah, my brother-in-law was at a midnight launch party and almost everyone was there for NBA 2K13. Barely anybody even know that RE6 was releasing that night.

Spenok4214d ago

Though you may be right (and you are), most people simply don't realize that even if this isn't sell through (to consumers), it's still sell through none the less. People preordered this game in a good enough number for retailers to take notice, and buy this many copies in anticipation.

Another thing people don't realize is generally preorder sales make up only about 30% or so of the total sales of a game. A ton of people either don't like to reserve games for whatever reason, or just forget to, or whatever their reason may be. So you can bet this game will sell well. If not on name alone.

I have only just started playing this game today. Sure, Operation Raccoon City was pretty garbage. But every main title in the series has been a blast and I have loved them all. And I see no reason to skip this one. So I am giving them the benefit of the doubt. If it sucks (which so far it's pretty good), then maybe i'll think twice when 7 releases.

In my opinion don't trust reviews, trust your own opinions. Listen to what your head tells you about past games and what you thought of them. Not this bull shit trend the internet has been on a high of lately of hating on ANYTHING that changes to their dislike. Its getting old.

Tdmd4213d ago (Edited 4213d ago )

@Burning_Finger

I'm not going to pretend I know what I'm talking about, no it is just conjecture of my part but, don't retailers pay for every single unit that is sent their way? Or does Capcom just send them for free? It seems to me that money was already made independent of how many customers buy it from retailers from now on.
The way I see it, we, core fanbase, are already fucked. If capcom achieved those numbers with this kind of mediocre game even after all the bad reviews and fan backlash, than what we see in part 6 is what we will see in the next entry as well. There's no need for them to go back to their roots or listen to the old fanbase. Our cry will fall on deaf ears.

MattyG4214d ago (Edited 4214d ago )

SHIPPED. That is just how many were sent to retailers, not how many consumers bought. It could have sold under a quarter million for all we know.

dark-hollow4214d ago

Was anybody really surprised?
its a resident evil sequel. No matter how bad it is it will sell a lot for the brand alone.

RmanX10004214d ago

Now how about the number of people who regret buying it? Is that around 3 million probably?

Dark114214d ago

Like it or not , but alot of people *DO* enjoy the game .

RmanX10004214d ago

Seems like a one man army.

There Will Never Be Another Resident Evil 6 (And That Sucks)

A rough gem that may never get the proper treatment it deserves.

Terry_B397d ago

^^ I don't want what the author was smoking.

-Foxtrot397d ago

It’s this thing where after enough time people start coming out to defend bad games for some strange reason

I mean hey if you liked it good for you but it was a f****** awful RE game.

Capcom are finally back on track and now people are crying about their shitty mistakes? No thanks.

RpgSama395d ago

I'd take a full blown remake of RE6 based around a GREATLY expanded Leon part and make it even more horror.

That might be something I would be interested in, do not care about any of the other parts of that game.

MadLad395d ago

I couldn't even get through the demo.
Years later I bought it for $3 for PC. I played about 5 minutes into it and uninstalled it.

babadivad395d ago (Edited 395d ago )

RE6 was better than 5. RE6 just took the series to the conclusion that started with 4.

RE4 was the inaugural title in the action game trilogy.

RE9 will be the likely end of the first person psychological thriller trilogy.

They'll switch it up for RE10 or more likely titled RE-X.

hotnickles395d ago

5 is vastly better than 6 imo

TheEnigma313395d ago

RE5 is way better than 6. Stop lying to yourself

FallenAngel1984397d ago (Edited 397d ago )

“But all this is solely with respect to how fans felt back in 2013 when Resident Evil 6 had just been released. The game resulted in the series getting indefinitely killed off until 5 years later when we got Resident Evil 7 and balance was restored yet again. ”

1.) Resident Evil 6 came out in 2012, not 2013

2.) A series getting killed off means no titles at all released in a time period. Silent Hill, Dead Space, Dino Crisis, Parasite Eve & Siren fans would love to see how you can say RE was on the same level of dormancy. In that 5 year time period we had a number of remasters that kept the series alive and kicking. RE1 02ms remaster even broke sales records during the period between RE6 and RE7.

3. Way to disrespect Resident Evil: Revelations 2. It was released during that RE6-RE7 period. It along with its predecessor were mainline titles that kept the horror roots of the series alive in comparison to RE5 and RE6. RE: R1 in particular even introduced the ability to walk and shoot into the series, a feature we can all be grateful for that in modern RE titles. The director RE: R1 later went on to direct RE7 and the director of RE: R2 later went to to direct the RE2 & RE4 remakes.

Immagaiden396d ago (Edited 396d ago )

“Resident Evil 6 is often maligned as the worst entry in the Resident Evil series and is cited as the cause behind the long death of the franchise.”

Titles in the Resident Evil series such as Survivor, Gaiden, Dead Aim, Outbreak, Operation Raccoon City, Umbrella Corps, & Resistance we’re received far worse than RE6.

And death of the franchise?

RE6 was still one of the most commercially successful games in the series, guaranteeing the franchise’s future. Compare how underwhelming sales of Dead Space 3, Silent Hill: Downpour. Alone in the Dark: Illumination, Dino Crisis 3, Fatal Frame: Maiden in Black Water, Castlevania: Lords of Shadows 2, and Metroid: Other M which caused their respective series to go into a long period of dormancy without any rereleases to even keep activity up.

RE however still had a significant number of titles released and rereleased after RE6. Not only that but development for RE7 started a short time after its predecessor came out, meaning there was never a development time that the series could be considered dead. There hasn’t been a single year that Capcom stopped either developing, releasing, or rereleasing Resident Evil games. Let’s not act like the 5 year period between RE6 and RE7 is such a longer time compared to the 4 year period between RE4 and RE5 as well as RE7 and RE8. We can pretty much expect RE9 in either 2025 or 2026, and you can be certain that Capcom will still release other RE tiles leading up to it

TheEnigma313395d ago (Edited 395d ago )

Man go some where with this. Only a few like this game. Why would they remake a garbage game no one likes risking money because it won't sell? RE 6 is dumpster drippings, sorry.

MIDGETonSTILTS17395d ago

It wasn’t that good, even if you enjoyed it like me.
