Looks Like Xbox Live Is Down For Some People

Kotaku - For the second time in less than a month, Microsoft's online service for the Xbox 360 appears to be experiencing problems affecting a broad swath of users.

Problems, it's saying its my nat type but I no it isn't

I write this comment from IE on my Xbox dashboard!

I'm currently on Live as well. No problems from my end in Texas. And the usual number of my friends are online as well.

Edit: It may have been down prior to the approval of this submission, but the xbox live status is green-lit apart from the crackle app so it should be fully working now for whoever had any problems. - http://support.xbox.com/en-...

AngelicIceDiamond4215d ago

I signed in just fine to.

Nice weather we're having in TX I must say.

Locksus4215d ago (Edited 4215d ago )

Well, I'm having no problems but really, Microsoft? Is this what people pay 50 euros a month for? The least I expect is a stable connection.

*EDIT*
Sorry, I meant to say 50 euros a year.

Blankman854215d ago

Tell me one paid service that never experiences any hitches whatsoever.
I'll wait.
I was under the impression that the media didn't report xbox live downtimes. Well at least thats what you hear on n4g everytime PSN is down, that the media is biased and makes a big deal bout every PSN outage only.

Locksus4215d ago

"Tell me one paid service that never experiences any hitches whatsoever." Was not my point. I still expect a good stability of the service if I'm paying for one.

Anyways, not a big deal for me as this doesn't affect me but thought I'd just share what I think about it.

turnerdc4215d ago (Edited 4215d ago )

Yeah, because we live in a perfect world where nothing ever goes wrong with servers, electricity, software, and employees. And to think, all those cell phone carriers that experience service outages occasionally (all of them) are charging people 60 - 100+ dollars a month.

aviator1894215d ago (Edited 4215d ago )

Dude, nothing comes without some hitches. Things go wrong due to complex tech in a potentially unstable environment where numerous external factors are in play. If we lived in world where everything worked perfectly and experienced no technical glitches or set-backs, oh my what a world that would be.

This Live outage lasted for a mere 3-10 minutes according to some people over on the forums and kotaku posts. Are you telling me that waiting such a short amount of time is so grueling?

Getowned4215d ago

well, you get what you pay for.. lol jk... no, seriously I know how hard it sucks to come home from a hard day of work/school and be confronted with a downed network.. at these times I normally quote Darth vader "NOOoooOOooooOOOOOOOOoooo oo"

http://www.youtube.com/watc...

and than I sit in a corner rocking back and forth like a crack addit going through withdrawals.

Wow a lot of Kotaku articles being approved on n4G at the moment.
Why the change of heart for this website?

Anon19744215d ago

When have Kotaku articles not been approved on n4g?

Ben_Grimm4215d ago

A lot of posters on here were calling for a ban of Kotaku for some reason.

But so far we have had at least three submitted today.

vividi4215d ago

this comment is pathetic LOL , people dont have more interesting things to do?

CernaML4215d ago

Seriously. Ben_Grimm's obsession on trying really hard to prove that this site is some Sony fanboy haven is really pathetic.

Xbox 360 Turns 18: Three Cheers to Live, Halo, and Red Rings

The Xbox 360 launched in North America 18 years ago, and is now officially old enough to buy you a drink in Europe.

Great platform, and many of its games (not bc) still hold up well to this day. Like the PS3, I keep a 360 hooked up for those games you can't play any other way.

isarai149d ago

The last gasp of greatness from XBox, you are missed, except the RROD that was lame, but amazing exclusives until the Kinect dropped.

TheBrainZ149d ago

So many brilliant games. I still have one stored somewhere.

LG_Fox_Brazil149d ago

I really enjoyed my X360, some great exclusives on it. Used to play the shit out ot Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey, two masterpieces

I remember when Live turned five and they had special edition controllers made and everything. Kind of wished they would do that again for the 20th.

Happy Birthday. OG XBL (and later 360 XBL) really revolutionized online gaming on console.

Crows90519d ago

Never understood the obsession with live...but I was gaming online on PC so not sure too much of what live did that the PlayStation didn't.

Profchaos519d ago

I had a PS2 and it's online experience was fine but it didn't have the same level of polish voice chat never worked for me but I was trying to play from Australia where not many people played PS2 online to the point where many devs simply dropped the online mode from the pal version.
That's not all PS2 games mind you there were plenty that worked perfectly but it was more on the dev and not the platform

During that era I also played a fairly large amount on online PC games and they were undoubtedly better than both systems. PS2 from functionality and Xbox because it was free

Playing my friends original Xbox it was a really polished experience it felt robust yet simple things just worked there was zero config.

Crows90519d ago (Edited 519d ago )

Yeah but the time ps3 came the experience was the same on both based on what I played...not too much online though to be honest. But I do think that the xbox did help bring online into the console space a lot. As well as PC games to consoles.

Profchaos519d ago (Edited 519d ago )

Today would of been the perfect day to drop halo 2 the original bc version free on gwg.... If only
