On October 9th Dishonored will be released for the PS3, Xbox, and PC amid a packed season of fall blockbusters. With all these sequels for such big long-running franchises, it isn't surprising that a game like Dishonored would get lost in the mix. If it hasn't received any of your attention yet, then I’m here to tell you why the game should be one of your most anticipated fall releases.

I am intrigued by this game. It;s also worth noting the game has some interesting names, creatively, attached to the game.

"Arkane Studios founder Raphaël Colantonio and Deus Ex developer Harvey Smith act as the game's creative directors and Deus Ex designer Ricardo Bare acts as Lead Designer. Half Life 2's City 17 designer, visual design director Viktor Antonov and art director Sebastien Mitton lead the art team."

Piques my interest, anyway.

Heh yeh I agree and I shouldn't say it but I feel like it cannot fail.

I absolutely love the look of the game. You had me at City 17. Hopefully enough gamers take a chance on it to make it a success.

why are there so many of the articles trying to talk people into buying this game? If people want it they will get it we don't need 1000 stories telling us why we should.

camel_toad4217d ago

I think it may already have fan boys even though it's not out yet.

I'm really looking forward to it but without having actually played it I sure wouldn't be preaching to people about it yet.

as a journalist I would guess that you feel that it's your responsibility to raise awareness on good games. You always see articles that talk about games that under-sold, I wouldn't like to feel responsible for those.
dishonored is typically the kind of game that wouldn't sell well without media support, the occasional gamer has never heard of it. I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one that would like this game to succeed

mananimal4217d ago

The FACT that there trying Sooooool Hard to sell this game to you, should be a sign of concern, but very few will catch on to that, & be disappoint when this game DOES NOT!!, I repeat does not even get close to living upto the HYPE the Industry has produced about this game lmao, I smell something fishy, If it was reallyALL THAT , they wouldnt being trying so hard to convince you, it would sell itself.

But....... some gamers will NEVER learn, mark my words, this game will be a DUDD.

grailly4217d ago

you do know that the videogame industry is not one big entity right? gamingillustrated won't be getting anything out of good dishonored sales.

I already got my most anticipated game, Borderlands 2. But I'll keep an eye on this game, probably wont get it lunch though.

Just learned about this game last week and will be definately picking this one up. Looks better and different than anything else out this month! Watch gameplay of it, looks awesome. I'm all about creativity and this different than all the same old sh@t we keep getting.

The Magic of 'Dishonored’s' Blink

It’s a shame, really, that so few games have “borrowed” Dishonored’s Blink – in the right hands, such a power could be game-changing.

It felt kinda cheap to me… both in terms as a tactic, and game design

Abnor_Mal426d ago (Edited 426d ago )

There was a small game called Aragami that “borrowed” the blink, that was a good game.

Unfortunately I heard the sequel wasn’t good so I stayed away from trying it out.

The sequel changed some of the mechanics from the first game but it was still a very polished and enjoyable experience. You should definitely give it a shot sometime. The game's currently on sale on Steam

Okay thanks for the heads up, will look out for it being on sale one day.

I really did like the first and played it back to back as soon as I finished the first play through.
