Any conflicts and arguments for the re-imagining of Dante’s character and appearance aside, there has been a massive concern among long term fans of the Devil May Cry series as to whether a Western developer can effectively create a successful entry in the much loved stylish Japanese Hack and Slash series. Ninja Theory are a Developer with a relatively short but high calibre resumé, having created other high quality titles within the same genre such as Heavenly Sword. I was extremely interested to see for myself whether this altered origin story managed to maintain the same high octane but extremely controlled action that was present in the original quadrilogy, or whether it would become a completely different beast entirely.
VGChartz's Mark Nielsen: "Upon finally finishing Devil May Cry 5 recently - after it spent several years on my “I’ll play that soon” list - I considered giving it a fittingly-named Late Look article. However, considering that this was indeed the final piece I was missing in the DMC puzzle, I decided to instead take this opportunity to take a look back at the entirety of this genre-defining series and rank the entries. What also made this a particularly tempting notion was that while most high-profile series have developed fairly evenly over time, with a few bumps on the road, the history of Devil May Cry has, at least in my eyes, been an absolute roller coaster, with everything from total disasters to action game gold."
3,1,4,5 to me, never played 2. 5 gameplay is amazing but level design was really disappointing to me, just a bunch of plain arenas, the story felt like a worse written rehash of the 3rd and the charater models looked weird ( specially the ladies ). Another problem with 5 was that there was not enough content for 3 charaters so I could never really familiarize with any of them
2.
Dmc.
4.

God DMC2 was an awful game.
And in case this isn't obvious it goes worst to best
Order changes depending on your focus. I tend to focus on gameplay/fun factor, so...
5, 3, 1, 4, 2.
I really didn't like 4 but commend Dante's weapon diversity. The retreading of old ground was pretty unacceptable to me.
But even then... Still more enjoyable than 2 for me
Huzaifah from eXputer: "Devil May Cry 5, the latest iteration in the iconic DMC franchise by Capcom, still holds its own as a fantastic hack-and-slash in 2024."
NVIDIA continues to add games to GeForce NOW. This week, Devil May Cry 5, Gears Tactics, and The Crew Motorfest lead the charge.
Thanks, but no thanks!
No thanks. I do not believe you that this game is great because you were pulling REALLY long chains and combos within minutes. What happened to the days when DMC fans practised for hours to refine their combos and improve their stylish rankings? I do not want some westernised, streamlined and casual piece of shit. Have you looked at what happened to Resident Evil 6 after all the hype? If not then I will tell you; it flopped and it is getting mediocre to poor reviews. That is the fate of this piece of trash as well. People are tired of CAPCOM westernising and ruining franchises. We old and original fans refuse to take any more of this and will speak with our wallets.
If Capcom themselfs can't make a good RE game anymore then do people really have hope for a DMC game which looks terrible made by a studio like NT.
Journalists have sold their souls this gen. They will call a witch hunt unnecessarily and sing praises for utter crap when the devil comes to pay a visit.
It's been a generation of shame for gaming journalists.
