Weekly CryEngine 3 Gallery [September 23rd - 29th]; Cockroaches invade Crytek's Engine

I wouldn't expect them to even match this, let alone exceed it. In fact, I think people are putting a much higher expectation on next gen consoles than they'll be able to deliver. I could be wrong, really - I'd love to be, I just don't see it happening much different.

I think they will match this with 1080p or slightly better with engine improvements over the mods that have been developed.

You have to keep in mind what kinda power the consoles can have in them. It could vary drastically from 1 Tflop up to 3.5 Tflops depending on the hardware combination and heat. I believe at most 2.5 Tflops will be their aim for a solid 30 fps 1080p build of games on their systems for CryEngine 3/Unreal Engine 4. There is always the hope for more, but I am doubtful.

I don't mean to sound like a Crytek/Cryengine hater, but hopefully they spend as much time on the story of Crysis 3 as they do bragging about their graphical prowess.

Crysis has so much more potential, hopefully they can really make Crysis 3 a genuine GOTY contender.

If they followed up on the great story and gameplay of the first, they could would have a great game on their hands. Sadly, the game is resembling too much of Crysis 2.

I always felt the Crysis games felt like generic shooters.

The second was still enjoyable, but not what I was hoping. I feel that Crytek haven't made that genre defining game yet, as good as Crysis 1 was, it fell short in some areas.

With other companies putting innovation first, I fell that Crytek is getting left behind with only their graphics to show. They definitely have the talent to make their Bioshock/Halo/Uncharted 2 quality game, I'm just waiting to see it.

Homefront had huge potential with the story, so I'm glad Crytek picked it up. Homefront 2 might just be that game that Crytek can absolutely nail and throw away these claims of mine (and many other peoples).

Not gonna lie, these CE3 tech screenshots look pretty mediocre in comparison to the new Unreal Engine's. . .

these are still from the current gen cryengine, the future cryengine will make unreal cry like a little girl.

UE 4 doesn't look that much better honestly. Most of these shots are current gen CryEngine 3 mods. Crysis 3 will show you the full detail of CryEngine 3. Compare that to UE4. There is not much of a difference at all. Crytek even states Epic is just playing catch up to them.

CE 4 should be ready for a console reveal by E3 2013 I would suspect though.
