Great news, Take your time with the game. Borderlands 2 will keep us busy for awhile

Reibooi4227d ago

Awesome. Would be great if they get it out within the first year or 2 of the next PS3 and Xbox so everyone can get their Borderlands fix early on in the new gen.

blitz06234227d ago (Edited 4227d ago )

I'm loving Borderlands 2, but I'd rather see them make a new IP. Still, either way is fine. I'll be looking forward to Borderlands 3.

Carl_Shocker4227d ago (Edited 4227d ago )

Awesome...

Hopefully the classes will be

Brick - Hopefuly he can dual wield this time

Mordecai - Maybe a new melee move like Zero

Lilith - She has more powers, she can teleport, use Phase blast quicker and liquify people. Phaselocked...sucked for solo players in B2 it felt like it was made for co-op with all the support skills Maya has. The Phaseblast skill was really useful in the first game.

Then maybe a new Soldier class, Axton or let the Mechromancer be in the game from the start.

I hope the old vault hunters will be back...in B2 the Angel made them seem like they wern't important anymore despite them now having good character development which made them more badass, and lets face it another Siren coming to Pandora when only 6 of them were created would seem far fetched, it's bad enough we've already met three.

I hope Maya, Axton, Salvador and Zero will be NPCs this time round to learn more about them.

-MD-4227d ago

Or a more logical prediction would be 4 all new characters since they've done that twice so far.

Reibooi4227d ago (Edited 4227d ago )

To be honest I would rather 4 all new characters again with the characters from the last 2 as supporting storyline characters.

One of the things I liked about Borderlands 2 was how they took these characters who were basically just things that said a few funny quips and what not while playing them in the original game into genuine cool and interesting characters. They even went into the past of the new characters as well if you find the Echo's to learn about them.

But it would be cool to have them as supporting cast like the original characters were for BL2. It would help to grow the series so it wouldn't start to feel stale. At least from a storyline perspective.

Carl_Shocker4227d ago

Why would you guys want new characters...as I've said another Siren coming to Pandora would seem too far fetched since in the entire Borderlands universe only 6 were created, 3 have already been seen and they've all wound up on Pandora...I mean unless in Borderlands the Universe isn't that big of place I don;t see how another one would come or be close to the Planet or Pandora.

They've given the old vault hunters character development, time to switch them round now, let us play them again and give the new characters in this game some character development in the next game. Besides I'm pretty sure they can make the old vault hunters speak while were playing them

Was anyone confused that if you were playing Maya and you met Lilith there was no

"OMG...A SIREN...I FOUND ANOTHER SIREN" talk when the whole point Maya came to Pandora was to find out about Sirens and if there was more like her. Same with Lilith she came to Pandora to find another Siren and one is right in front of her...get what I mean

-Mika-4227d ago

This is great news. I personally hated the first game. I thought it was the most overrated game this generation but I bought Borderlands 2 and I loved it. I thought it was an amazing game. I can't wait to play the third game in the series.

AboutLastNight54227d ago

Haha well that's great! I love the games, I'm so enthralled with the sequel right now

vickers5004226d ago (Edited 4226d ago )

Two each his own. I loved the first game, it's my favorite game this generation (well 2nd favorite now that I just finished Borderlands 2). Everybody has their dislike of popular franchises. I personally think the Uncharted series is extremely overrated.

Might I ask why you hated the first game? And why you like the second? The only reason I can see is that you either didn't give the first game a real chance and only played for like 10 or 15 levels, or you hated that there was little story to it. Because gameplay wise, both games are extremely similar, and the only HUGE differences between the two are the stories.

AboutLastNight54227d ago

Haha exactly! This is super exciting that the game is on the drafting table already, but they can take as much time as they want...I'll gladly play Borderlands 2 for as long as possible.

MattyG4227d ago (Edited 4227d ago )

Nope. Not at all. Just because work on a game starts right after its predecessor does NOT mean that its being annualized. And besides, annualization isn't bad when done right. Look at the early Ratchet and Clank games and the Jak series.

vallencer4227d ago

Annualization is what COD does and unless Gearbox releases it next year and the year after and so on and so on then guess what?? It isn't an annual game.

stevenhiggster4227d ago

I'm fine with more of Borderlands.

Off topic: Anyone else get really annoyed by that really annoying Orange advert that comes up when you come to the site, I'm assuming it only affects UK users. Really annoying though!!

I wonder what the next buzz word they'll slap in front of AI to make it sound exciting next? "Generative" as if it's creating its own content. Lol.

Cacabunga48d ago

EA is already dying a painful death..

peppeaccardo48d ago

i have a better idea .. why the whole exec team doesn't get replaced by chat bots ?

just_looken48d ago

Though i agree the ai thing is already in other forms of media there have been ai translations/scripts/voice over and even full ai commercials aired on tv. Ubisoft has created a ai game creator story/vo/music except the building of the game

The new unreal engine has auto terrain creation tools

In the world of greed in which it is winning without any major blow back ai is our future.

everyone want's biden dead on the mic or a criminal instead of a woman and now we are getting ai everything because no one will stop watching/playing ai created media.

GamerRN48d ago

Maybe they should just focus on making good games?

Just a thought...

Kiryu199247d ago

Exactly EA are just pure evil. When they are beating Bank of America to be voted the worst company to work for that’s saying a lot

Good thing I don’t buy their games day one and wait for deep deep sale years after launch (the select few games I am actually interested in)

Gaming is making so much money yet the greed of these companies is never ending

CEO’s and people on board making millions yet cutting jobs to those who are actually making the products

EA is still a shady shitty company even with or without the help of Skynet. All they will use AI for is new ways to milk loot boxes and come up with the same sports title with a different year on the label. They are one company I truly do hate with a passion. They single handedly ruined some great franchise with their death touch. ME, Dead Space, Alice Returns, Dante's Inferno.

EA layoffs followed by 'Generative AI to Drive Monetization'

I knew it. Wonder what AI salary looks like? Nothing.

ChasterMies48d ago

I having a feeling that most of the layoffs in the industry are based on the idea that AI will do the same job for less.

DarXyde47d ago

Very likely, yes.

Made worse by the fact that the execs aren't changing their compensations.

My deepest fear at this point is that we are now in the capitalism endgame.

At this point, we really should just burn AI to the ground. Executives cannot be trusted to do the right thing.
How are those people expected to support families if everything gets automated?

Barlos48d ago (Edited 48d ago )

And take away creativity, and people's jobs as we've been seeing. Got it.

No thanks. I want my games created by people, not AI.

CobraKai48d ago

Exactly. If or when games start becoming more AI than people, im done with gaming. AI and companies like EA can suck donkey d***k.

just_looken48d ago

Though i agree remember this is no ps3/360 era were we got up to 3 games in one generation from on developer like gears/halo/bioware/sony/ms

The people today are pro esg/sweet baby for the most part AAA gaming is imploding right now.

We should be stepping back re evaluate everything as a whole this year xmen 97 written/directed by a woman that is nuts and its also being made by a group reshaping bodies to be less sexual like wtf. A dam famous cartoon from the 90's is being rebuilt with millions spent to be worse in everyway.

Gaming/movies/tv shows made today are worse than what we had 7years ago ai won't change this but that ai is also being made by these groups so either way we are screwed.

Eonjay47d ago

Don't be of afraid of women. Sexy characters in games and movies still exist. Got my Stellar Blade on preorder!!! Everything all the time doesn't need to be sexual...that's stupid, childish and dull.

Chocoburger48d ago (Edited 48d ago )

EA doesn't want to lose their title of worst gaming company ever, always trying their best to remain the champs!
What's sad is that they have so much potential to be a decent publisher.

SSX Tricky / SSX 3
Def Jam Vendetta / Fight for New York
NBA Street
NFL Steet
Mirror's Edge
Bad Company
Burnout 3 / 4 / 5

Remember when EA used to be awesome? It's all over with now. Unpolished, if not out-right broken games these days. Endless monetization and gambling in their sports games, and let's not forget wasting hours of your life trying to unlock characters or equipment using "surprise boxes!"
