FIFA 13 on Vita gets caned on Metacritic and Amazon

EA Sports' FIFA 13 on the Vita is pretty much the first Vita FIFA game with some teeny-tiny updates. That's the verdict of those who got it early, with teeny-tiny scores being the result on Metacritic and Amazon's users reviews.

Sure the game isn't a bad one, but as an update it is pathetic. This is unlikely to stop EA doing crummy updates in future, but some brutal feedback might stop them trying to sell it as the "all-new, latest, greatest" product that the PS3 version represents.

The lack of official reviews will likely sucker more casual gamers into buying it, so is the gaming press compliant in this farce for not telling the plain truth?

Why does this really need to be reported. User reviews on Metacritic are notoriously bad and fanboyish. Amazon user reviews are also the same but are funny in some circumstances. Also 5 people (on metacritic) have reviewed the game so far. 5 people. It may be bad but lets wait for some credible reviews before jumping the gun

All the comments point up that the game is barely an update, yet EA are calling it FIFA 13... a completely different title, I'd be angry too if I'd brought it.

"All the comments point up that the game is barely an update, yet EA are calling it FIFA 13... a completely different title"

and yet this won't happen for Call of Duty which has no update what so ever. FIFA at least improves on things and adds things each game, though I'm not much of a soccer player/fan.

@Summons75 sad to say that as much as I don't enjoy CoD, it has more changes than an annual FIFA game each time..

@ Summons

You may not like CoD, but they update their games a hell of a lot more than FIFA does. Or any EA sports game in general.

Yes but, it literally seems as if, instead of porting the console/PC version to Vita, which is no doubt possible, EA have instead just re-skinned FIFA Football, the Vita launch title, and updated to the roster. FIFA Football 1.5 if you will, instead of an actual FIFA 13. Laziness at it's best.

Another day, same old routine. And how have they managed to find user reviews of a game that isn't even up for review on Metacritic yet? This is such a sad little article from a sad little article

psp2roundup4223d ago (Edited 4223d ago )

I would have thought that's because some buyers have got the game early and aren't happy with it. While professional reviewers aren't publishing their scores because EA won't want them too until after the pre-orders have been sent out.

This is a sucker-punch of the lowest order (even if the game isn't horrible per se), being echoed on NeoGAF and other forums, so what's the problem?

Not all outdated football games are worthless

Games Asylum: "Outdated football games are a common sight when scouring jumble sales, car boots and charity shops for bargain price video games. Entire shelves filled with decade-old FIFA and PES games spread across a dozen formats. Often they end up in bargain bins, sitting alongside unwanted celebrity fitness DVDs and seemingly random TV show box sets. But here’s the thing. Not all football games gathering dust in the likes of Oxfam are in fact worthless."

Now Sonic Boom & Bayonetta 2 are being outsold by FIFA 13 Wii U

Just who is buying FIFA 13 on Wii U? We may never know, but there are more people buying that than there are Bayonetta 2 and Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric.

Sonic Boom? welp, sucks to suck.
But, Bayonetta is a real shame

wonderfulmonkeyman3427d ago

Sonic Boom is riding off the popularity of the TV show; it's a bad game.

And as for FIFA?
Well, guess that goes to show that there's a lot of older gamers on Wii U that wanted FIFA, then; sports games generally do out-sell action games, and Platinum isn't known for large sales in the first place.

I'm not worried for Bayonetta. It'll hit that 1M mark by the middle of next year, surely, at its current pace.

are seriously trying to downplay Bayonetta 2 with sales
