Ya I did the same but I signed up for the shift thing and got me another one and this one I'm saving until Perhaps after all the DLC comes out cause I bet they will raise the level cap and getting something from the chest then will probably net you some insane stuff.

There's also the ultra rare yellow weapons that have crazy stats and paint jobs. I have a yellow level revolver that has a purple hologram paint job, a lazer sight, and fires 6 rounds per trigger pull!

In the old game Orange and Yellow class were the same thing. Maybe it's different in BL2. But it's good to hear they are in the game.

On my second play-through the first weapon drop I had was a yellow weapon, from the first Bullymongs you fight. I'm now level 12 on that game and it's still decent.

ive spent 6+ hours on the damn slot machines trying to get 1 freakin orange gun & had no luck. I have got all my eridium upgrades done & have offically given up. Im planning on using my one golden key right before i finally set out for the final level in my playthrough. Damn you slot machines!!!

Not surprising. I've probably put in that much time just to get the triple Eridium jackpot. In the next hour, I got it two more times. I have yet to match the bell and vault symbol. Only matched Marcus once.

In my living room ive got a tv set up & my computer monitor. I had the Yankee & A's game on saturday on the tv & had borderlands 2 on my monitor next to me the game was 14 innings long & 6 hours. While watching the whole game i played the slot machines at the same time. So yea 6+ hours in total & not one freakin triple borderlands logo! I though a couple times man this feels like old school RPG level grinding!

I wrote Gearbox about this and if it turns out the only way to get more keys is through Twitter, then I'll be extremely disapointed in them. I can't stand when company's focus on Twitter and Facebook only for handing out content. I understand the value of social media but there are other ways that don't force the players to go out of their way.

Normally I would be pissed, but the items you gain from the chest suck. I am level 50 and never found / seen something that was worlds better. Truth be told, the chest feels like one of those "instant" power things, which fits in with the social networking demographic.

Absolutely agree. It's like they added it for people who don't want to actually explore and work for their loot.

If your that desperate for purple level items, just search for the other vault hunter in Sanctuary. He's always in the town (but in different locations) every time you visit and always drops either a blue or purple weapon

I've only hit level 13 at the moment, but I can agree with you in the sense that clearly, the world itself will offer better weapons. It just seems like an unnecessary business tactic to provide content through a medium that some people really don't enjoy and/or use at all...I get why they do it though, but would appreciate another way, potentially in-game.

That being said, I can tell you that rare or not, some guns I keep because of how much I enjoy them. Some higher powered guns or better guns in general just don't end up being used as much as others for me anyways.

I agree as well, i for one do not use twitter nor have a FB page (recently canceled) it just sucks how thats the way contests are these days, must login in to FB or follow on twitter to even compete.

My game glitched and I was able to open the golden chest as many times as I wanted, but no one else in my party could but when I turned off the game and came back it wouldn't work anymore. Me and my buddies are all decked out in lvl 18 pinks. Just my 2 cents...

You only get them with the "Premier Club" which was only with preorders from certain retailers.

Golden Box sucks I spent 40 golden keys all xhitty shields and grenade mods and oh rocket launchers.

you can have unlimited just by:

Before spending your keys save your game on a usb (ps3 360)

Spend the key If you don't like it delete that saved game and copy your old one back onto your hard drive.

And repeat. And who knows you might even get lucky and glitch the chest and keep getting more.

I realized i got 2golden keys for my other character on the same system as well. So i really have 4.

Thats funny because keys are assigned to your profile not the save game so none of this will work

I think this is a horrible system.

For those of us who don't want to sit around on twitter waiting for them to drop some codes, this is a slap to the face.

Why not, I dunno, let us EARN them. Why not give a key for every 1000 bada$$ levels earned? Or for completing X amount of quests? or get a key for hiting level 25 and 50 with a character?

Allowing us to EARN keys would be great.
Making us have to follow frecking twitter, one of the black holes of human thought, to get keys is weak.

Having opened the box numerous(200+) times "using a live game editor" I can honestly say I am not all that impressed. Out of probably 210-220 opens between lvl 11 and 20 I have pulled maybe 20 items that I kept. I did get a couple great shotguns and sniper rifles fortunately that fits my style. “nothing orange or pink” A lot of things like a shield which gives me 900 shield and takes 200 health really aren't great. Even the whoopty-doo relics I have pulled are mostly letdowns. Finally I pulled a 957 shield that heals me as well. That is after 200+ theoretical keys. So all in all it does occasionally have great items.. but it's worse luck than playing the slots "I dropped 25K and never got a great weapon but have hit eridium jackpot 4 times. All of this to say, I like the random chance factor.. the game as is, is phenomenally fun. But I’ve spent too much effort for little gain. I’d have rather had a willowtree editor to play with. Haha

I still loot every darn box I see and the ones that are hard to get to.

Used my golden key at level 15. I was playing Assassin but I got two class mods for the Commando and Gunzerker :(

Press start on second controller and create new character on same profile. More golden keys...leave game and repeat with second controller.
