If you were a 90s kid excited about Nintendo’s upcoming N64 console, you likely read something somewhere about the Nintendo 64 Disk Drive, also known as the 64DD or DD64.
Other nominees include games like SimCity & Tony Hawk's Pro Skater.
There are some good nominees in this list that are deserving to be inducted also, but I feel Metroid has had the most impact on the industry out of all of these. Look how Metroid influenced the evolution of the Castlevania games, and the "Metroidvania" subgenre of games have become a prevailing force in gaming today. Especially now, Metroidvanias are bigger than ever.
I can very much see Resident Evil being added later too, bc it really did popularize and define the survival horror genre. I would say that one is next in line.
If any Metroid game should get the honor it should be Super Metroid , it's perfection in my eyes . 30 years later and I still feel it's the most epic shit ever .
The GBA remake deserves it or Super Metroid, the original was a very sloppy and rushed game programmed in 3 months and it shows.
If you've never played the remake, it's absolutely a must play, fixes basically every flaw in the game. Check out ExoParadigmGamer's comparison video.

Australias prices high!
my excitement for wiiu is almost like before the gamecube or N64 when i was a kid, nintendo look to nail it with the wiiu, the games do look good, nintendo revivng Byonetta is a great sign for core gamers and I hate to use the word "HARDCORE" cause some people think "hardcore" is being badass, in your face violence not the game design ... some might think that 50cent game is a hardcore game while mario is casual, just because of look , that is more casual than casual gamers themselves, CORE games is better term in my opinion
its not 4 me I grew up.
In the past i would always buy Nintendo products because thats what my friends would get but since i have matured i usually buy products based on my wants instead of whats popular in the market. Which is why this generation i had a 360 in the beginning due to all the nice exclusives that it had early on in its life but when Microsoft went casual (Kinect) i switched to Sony and i have been happy with my PS3 ever since i got it. The reason why i am not jumping on the Wii U isnt because i dont want to play games at 1080P at 60 FPS its because i have no idea what Microsoft and Sony will do with their consoles. Which is why i am willing to wait a while to see what types of next gen systems we will get from them.
My predictions are that Microsoft will create a console based around its services while Sony will focus on the core. Nintendo like last generation will be famous for producing a family oriented console with a unique control scheme but like the Wii its specs will be vastly behind other next gen consoles.
Alot of kids on here saying they dont like "kids" games.
