Dont wanna jinx myself but the ps3 web browser seems more stable now havent had a crash yet <<

FACTUAL evidence4243d ago

Well my ps plus ran out the beginning of this month. I had it for a year, but I cannot see myself buying it again.

I hope Sony adds something more useful than just the 1GB worth of space..like PSN ID change, voice messaging, and so on.

Not saying 1GB is a useless feature, but for someone like me who has both systems, 360 got cloud saves after, and it started with 1GB worth of space.....I really think sony uses diversions for updates, to say they made an "update"...Ah wellz. I just give up until well....sony gets it together in my book.

fei-hung4243d ago

Factual evidence above in 1st class trolling:

1) no one has ever bought ps+ for the sole purpose of game saves
2) majority (if not all) of ps+ owners dont give a crap about changing their psn ids or that ps+ cant do it
3) majority (if not all) ps+ users dont care about voice messaging

Now here are the factual reasons why people bought ps+:

1) unlike those paying £30 a year to game online, ps+ users pay £30 to get over £200 worth of content free every year
2) to get discounts on various games, apps and themes

In other words, they bought it for enhancing their gaming experience and library. Factual evidence and factual logic will tell you that the key thing to gaming is .....(drum roll) GAMES! u cant game withought games (can u believe that shit?!).

Now take one guess what ps+ gives every month to its members in abundance? Yes, thats right, GAMES!

Ure logic is like me saying, "i wont buy a 360, its rubbish, it wont make tea for me and i love drinking tea whilst gaming. I rather buy a kettle then buy a 360. Yeah, im a real gamer. Wooh, kettle FTMFW!"

@fei-hung:

What you don't get is that gamers don't just game, no more than a phone is just for making phone calls. I use my Xbox 360 to use many of the apps provided, even though they exist on the PC. Why? Because it is more convenient and my darn Xbox is quieter. It is also nice that the people I meet online to game with also don't abandon their accounts, and actually has a microphone.

The Xbox 360/Live community is much more online centric and that alone is worth it to me. I don't need more games, I need more quality time with the people I game with. That means organizing a game fast and Xbox Live enables that with party chat.

So in conclusion yes, the vast majority of us buy into Xbox Live over PSN (or PS+) or both, to enhance our gaming. It just so happens that it is in different ways.

Isn't it great that there are diversity in the services?

@fei hung

You dont actually get anything free from PS Plus, your just falling for sonys marketing. Theres no such thing as free games games on PS Plus their actually monthly rentals or however long they last. You do not keep DLC they expire aswell, what you keep is just avatars and themes.

Overall PS Plus you are paying for is Avatars/ Themes, exclusive betas/demos, exclusive sales and game trials/rentals. I have never gotten plus because i dont think its worth it since you dont really know what your getting every month better for me just go rent stuff myself and eu store sucks.

I dislike the term free used for PS plus because there's nothing actually free, sonys marketing has done a great job by making people think their actually getting things free all your getting to keep is themes and avatars.

Vast improvement, hopefully in future updates we can add other things to the cloud other than just save data. I see a future where you can save something to the cloud using your PS3/PS4 and then access it using the Vita.

DarkTower8054243d ago

An app like Dropbox would be amazing.

thehitman4243d ago

think dropbox is already on the ps3.

lex-10204243d ago

@thehitman

You can use dropbox through the internet browser to view or download files only, but you can't upload and there isn't an app, sadly.

kneon4243d ago

Perhaps they are preparing to allow sub-accounts to also save games on the network. They already have access to all the games downloaded on the + account, it seems silly that they can't also use the game save storage, and it would be even sillier to buy more accounts just for that one feature.

abzdine4243d ago

Amazing space for only saves. Hope it could be used for sth else. Maybe they are preparing for something?!
I love PS+.

NBT914243d ago

Well I managed to hit 110MB out of the 150 MB limit with only 15 PS3 game saves. NBA 2K12 takes a lot of space ya know, association save is almost 5MB and My Player is like 8, the game has separate files for each game mode, you obviously want to upload all of them so yeah that game alone eats a good junk of the 150MB. And if you have games with similar styles of save files (Sims 3 is another example) its easy to fill 150MB
Granted 1GB is wayyyy more than that, but it still needed to be upgraded. I doubt they will let us save anything else to it, I imagine it is so that when PS+ comes to Vita there will be enough space for all of the PS3 and Vita saves to be uploaded...

GrandTheftZamboni4243d ago

My Afrika save is over 300MB! Was never able to upload it.

KillerPwned4243d ago

I hope the update comes out today I could really use this.

Karum4243d ago

It's tomorrow according to the EU Playstation blog

Looking Back At 2008, An Unbelievably Incredible Year Of Video Game Releases

Huzaifa from eXputer: "2008 was home to the likes of Call of Duty: World at War, Dead Space, GTA 4, Far Cry 2, Left 4 Dead, and many other hits, which is outright remarkable."

CrimsonWing691h ago

I don’t think anything can compare to 2023

lucasnooker1h ago

1998 - the best year in gaming! Metal gear solid, crash bandicoot 3, medievil, half life, ocarina of time, thief, tenchu, resident evil 2, Spyro, tomb raider 3, oddworld abes exodus, banjo kazooie.

It was a different breed of a gaming era. You’ll never understand what it was like back then. The aura of gaming, it was different!

KyRo1h ago(Edited 1h ago)

I second this. Gaming was a lot more varied and fun than it is today. I'm 35 so getting on compared to some here but I got to see all the changes from NES up to now but I've never felt so disappointed in any generation than I have this current gen. I was expecting more from this generation rather than prettier versions of games that came before it. Game mechanics have become so refined that alot of games feel the same and has done for a while now.

Maybe it's time to have a break for a while. I love gaming but I don't feel I get much fun in the traditional sense out of it anymore.

CrimsonWing6958m ago(Edited 57m ago)

Metal Gear Solid, Resident Evil 2, Abe’s Exodus, and Ocarina of Time are the only things from that list that I liked.

Here’s the 2023 game releases that I personally liked… and big releases that I didn’t care for:

- Dead Space Remake
- Wo Long Dynatsy
- Resident Evil 4 Remake
- Diablo 4
- Fire Emblem Engage
- Hogwarts Legcay
- Street Fighter 6
- Hi-Fi Rush
- Like a Dragon: Ishin
- Octopath Traveler 2
- Final Fantasy Pixel Remasters
- Final Fanatsy XVI (actually ended up not liking this, but it was still a big deal release)
- Baldur’s Gate 3
- Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon
- Lies of P
- Mortal Kombat 1
- Marvel’s Spider-Man 2
- Starfield (Ended up hating this one, but big release)
- Super Mario Bros. Wonder
- Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom (I’m an old-school Zelda fan, but didn’t really enjoy this game)
- Alan Wake 2

I mean, honestly I’ve never seen a year of major IP releases like that, ever.

6 Fun Games Where You Actually Play As The Bad Guy

While the mainstream media always sees things turning in favor of the hero, here are 6 games that own being a bad guy.

Profchaos7h ago

Pretty much all of these games listed are based around a morality system you don't have to be bad and you don't have to be good.

It seems to have left out some real amazing games like red dead redemption 1/2,ass effect and true crime la/ny

Tacoboto6h ago

Armored Core VI?

Ok, I'm really missing something here. Just beat chapter 3 earlier this evening, unlocked A-rank Arena fights. I'm not seeing or sensing any branching paths or morality system and I've done every side mission and arena fight available to me up to that fight.

Is something big coming soon to branch the story?

banger886h ago

No mention of Grand Theft Auto? Saints Row (original trilogy), Manhunt? Also The Suffering (depending on the ending you get).
